I love the atmosphere in there. So nice. It’s a trendy atmosphere, with nicely dim, but good, lights. The chips are marvelous, with their salsa’s. Utterly delicious. The other foods are alright. It’s not amazing, but it’s good!

This was probably my favorite of the meals I had over a 3 day /2 night stretch in Vegas recently. We ate here for a lunch a few hours before heading to the airport, and both my wife and I really enjoyed our meal. We sat in a big comfy booth, and had a lot of space. We started off with a great guacamole dish– they make various types and ‘spice levels’ of guac– and this one was mild but with the heat(chillies) on the side as my wife doesn’t care for spicy. We had a ceviche dish which was tasty, and my main dish was a set of 3 grilled mahi-mahi tacos, and my wife enjoyed a carne asada burrito. Both of our entrees were excellent Everything was very flavorful, and the items intended to be spicy indeed were! I had a great margarita which was loaded with tequila– not juice heavy! Anyways, I would definitely consider this if in the area and you have a desire for a decent Mexican meal which won’t break the bank.

Nice atmosphere, the service and food are good. I had the enchiladas and they were good, but not breathtaking. Loved the homemade chips and salsas, rice was great. FYI — I wouldn’t call it kid friendly — it is not in the sense that Hooters is not either. The waitresses are all wearing itty bitty tight black dresses that their boobs nearly tumble out of everytime they lean over to grab a dish.

I hear the one in NYC is truly something to Unilocal about, but this one was highly disappointing. The sangria was too watered down, the guac wasn’t great but most importantly, the tortilla for my tacos was undercooked! It tasted of flour dough. Service too was slow and poor on a very slow Wednesday night.

We were a large, and very hungry group of females walking into Dos Caminos situated at the Palazzo. Dos Caminos is a beautifully modern establishment which fits well in its host hotel. The overall atmosphere is very trendy with lighting that would make anyone attractive. The service wasn’t anything stellar, but I was still very pleased with our experience here. One thing we all quickly noticed and appreciated was that they allowed the girls to bring their outside –yes red dixie cup kind– drinks into the dining room! At the beginning of our meal, we were served chips, three different types of salsa and guacamole. Nice touch. It was a great way to get the tastebuds churning. A lot of the items on the menu looked delish but a friend and I settled on the arroz con pollo and the carnitas tacos. Both entrees were flavorful and exhibited a commendable kick but could have used a bit more. I also tried a forkful(and more) of some suckling pig. Yummmo! Although I don’t drink champagne, I thought it was classy that they all brought us some to commemorate the special occasion. Dos Caminos is pro-alkie, whether it be from their bar or yours. Cheers!

Ah yes the Sangria. Nothing much expected and there wasn’t much delivered. There were plenty of fruits, but the wine itself was subpar. Any place with chips and salsa, you just keep eating. The addition of guacamole and I just keep going back for more. As for the food, I ordered a selection of the asada and carnitas tacos. They were okay, not much to say aside from that. Comes in a set of three and they were edible.

I had an amazing salad here topped with steak strips so perfectly I thought I might just begin and end my trip to Vegas here. De-f*cking-licious. We ordered a pitcher of sangria which was also at the top of the food/drink chain. The service was punctual but not friendly. I would def. return just for the sangria and the salsa’s which were served with the chips.

I guess I’m getting old but this place annoys the hell out of me. Super dark, loud music, even louder patrons, and so crammed. Trying to walk through the restaurant is so scary with all the tightly packed tables, drunk patrons randomly jumping up, and servers with trays jammed with about 20 entrees. That being said, the margaritas are decent and the guacamole is awesome. It’s best to stick with basics here. The carne asada tacos are pretty good but the lamb is not. Don’t order anything fancy or unique and it’ll be just fine. Service is pretty good. The servers are pretty adept at handling large tables, which I admire. Our server brought out cute little chocolate drinks for our friend’s birthday, complete with candle. The chocolate drinks were pretty good. The restrooms are unisex with individuals stalls designated for each sex. It’s a little disconcerting standing around with a bunch of guys waiting for a stall, but whatever. The individual stalls have their own sink, mirror, towels, and trash can. When I was there, the stalls were super messy. I don’t think cleaning staff is able to get into the stalls regularly to clean. It’s just poorly designed. Plus the entrance to the restrooms is hidden behind a huge pillar so when exiting the restroom, you can’t see if anyone is coming around the corner. So many near collisions with servers. The lounge at the entrance is cute. I might consider coming back for a margarita and something light.

Dark, chic, hip, and progressively loud. We were a huge group so it was organized as a prix fixe family style. We were seating in long tables in some back room. I would have preferred those sleek lounge booths instead. Easier to walk around and socialize. My favorite items that we had were the guacamole and the empanadas. The empanadas were tiny but so flavorful and savory and had a bit of a crunch factor. The guac was super fresh and hearty with avocado. The enchiladas were ok and the shrimp quesadilas were too cheesy for my liking. The bacon-wrapped rib eye skewers was tasty, though the rib eye was overcooked and the bacon was too greasy and thick. The queso was alright but was missing a lot of ingredients — chorizo, artichoke, and potatoes. It was just queso and a few peppers. Towards the end, it just seemed like the food was endless and way too much. Alas, dessert arrived to end the night. The white and dark chocolate fondue was tasty– the pieces of fruit went quick! This is probably a great place to have margaritas and some tasty appetizers. Definitely not a place to hold a workplace function, especially when you can’t hear speeches due to loud music(they did turn it down eventually for us in that room).

We ate here the other night before going to the Blue Man Group. We started with an order of guacamole and chips. The guacamole was chunky yet creamy and was very fresh. It was good and addictive but a little pricey. The chips were really good and had a nice amount of salt. The chips also came with a trio of salsas. The tomatillo was quite mild and limey. I’m usually a sucker for tomatillo salsa, but I didn’t care for theirs much and it was my least favorite of the three. The red salsa had a smoky flavor and a little more kick than the tomatillo. It was my favorite. There was also a habanero salsa which was the spiciest of the three and was pretty good. For dinner we had the ceviche trio and the tacos en cazuela with lamb barbacoa. The ceviche trio consisted of tuna, shrimp, and king crab ceviches. My favorite was the tuna which had a nice little kick to it and was perfectly balanced the sweet potato chip it was served on. My second favorite was the crab ceviche was creamy. It was made with tarragon which provided a nice contrast with the crab. My least favorite was the shrimp ceviche. It was a little sweet and tasted like Tabasco. I’m not a fan of sweets or Tabasco. My wife likes both and thought the shrimp ceviche was quite good. The tacos en cazuela were very good. The lamb barbacoa was tender and had a pleasant smoky taste. It was served with homemade tortillas which were quite good. On the side was Mexico City street corn and refried pinto beans. I liked the corn, which was covered with chile and cheese, quite a bit. The beans tasted creamy and fresh rather than thick and fatty like most refried beans. At the end of the meal, we got the bill. It said $ 97. I knew the food was pricey, but that was quite a bit more than I was expecting. It turned out they gave us the wrong bill. It took us to flag down our waiter to get the correct bill which was about $ 40 less. Overall, it was a really good meal. Not sure if I’ll go back, but I’m definitely glad we tried it.

I’ve actually never been to an expensive Mexican restaurant before, so I was kind of hesitant. My experiences with Mexican food consists of food trucks, and awesome small family owned restaurants. Mexican food is one of my favorites and DOSCAMINOS made my opinion of mexican food much higher. Service: A+ server was attentive and was prompt with everything. Drinks: I forgot what I ordered(one of the specials) and it was pretty good. Food: The habanero salsa and guacamole was amazing. My favoirty part of the meal was the scallops. I forgot the exact name, but it was the softests scallops I’ve ever had. It pretty much melted in my mouth. AMAZING.

The Better Half(TBH) and I came here last night for an Alumni dinner event. We were with a party of 30 people and arrived at 6 pm for some pre-dinner cocktails. It was our first visit to Dos Caminos and we were excited to give it a try. TBH& I started off with a glass of the house Zinfandel. It was nice… bold, earthy, with a slight peppery taste to it, just how I like it! The atmosphere was very festive and there is plenty of space for people to mix and mingle. We caught up with old friends and made new ones. We moved into the dining room where they had two large tables setup for our group. Waiting on the table were fresh Chips & Salsa with a bowl of their signature Guacamole, which was freakin’ amazing! The best part? They gave us the recipe for the Guac! Can’t wait to try it at home! There was a special menu for our group(see pics)…here’s what was offered: Appetizer —(Green Chile Caesar Salad — Romaine Lettuce, Cherry Tomatoes, Black Beans, Smoked Bacon, Croutons, Green Chiles, Caesar Dressing) Entrée — Choice of One: Camarones Al Ajillo(Jumbo Shrimp w/Garlic over Chile Guajillo Saffron Chorizo Rice) Ribeye Steak Alambre(Steak, Bacon, Mushrooms, Onions, Peppers) over Risotto w/Tortilla Dos Enchiladas(Chicken Enchilada, Cheese Enchilada with 2 sauces Mole Poblano & Tomatillo Verde) great presentation(see pics) Dessert — White & Dark Chocolate Fondue(Marshmallows, Peanut Butter Krispies, Churros, Macaroons for dipping) The Green Chile Caesar Salad was AMAZING! It was very Spicy, which is how I like it… and the flavors of the Chile and Black Beans went well with the Caesar Dressing. It might be too Spicy for most people, but they had the Chiles off to the side so if you didn’t like Spicy food, you could easily avoid it… I thought that was smart. I chose the Ribeye Steak Alambre and TBH chose the Dos Enchiladas. I enjoyed my entrée, but the only complaint was that I ordered it Medium and it came out Medium Well… still, it was very tasty. The seasonings that they used to cook the skewer with was perfect! I wish I knew what it was because I want to grill skewers at home with that seasoning! TBH was on the fence about the Shrimp and the Enchiladas… she chose the Enchiladas and regretted it. She enjoyed them, but thought it was OK, not great. Then, when she saw everyone’s Shrimp, she got pissed off at herself for passing on it. Oh well… Now for the Dessert… since TBH is a Chocoholic, she was waiting all night for this Chocolate Fondue. It came out and we were pleasantly surprised when most of the people on our side of the table passed on Dessert… they were too full from the other course. Since it was served family style, we had 2 portions(meant for 8 ppl) of Dessert to split between the 3 of us that decided to partake in the festivities… ha! The Dessert didn’t disappoint… Pieces of Marshmallows, Peanut Butter Krispies, Churros, Macaroons, Strawberries, Pineapple, Banana… were the items to dip into the Chocolate. Between the 3 of us, we destroyed the two plates of Dessert with ease… my favorite was the Peanut Butter Krispies… damn, that can get addictive. We had a glass of Cabernet to go with dinner and it didn’t disappoint… it complimented the meal very well. Overall, it was an awesome experience… good friends, great food, good times! Will I return? Si!

If I’d visited Dos Caminos in person first, instead of scanning Unilocal and looking at a PDF menu, I probably would have kept walking. I’m the least trendytastic person you will ever meet, and at first glance Dos Caminos looks like the reason Las Vegas has been throwing babies down the bathwater disposal chute in its efforts to woo the young Cali scene. What sounded like a casual but tasteful restaurant online looked more like a schmoozy lounge when up close. No wonder the prices verged on scary. We watched a man push a double stroller up to the squad of fashionable hosts waiting at the stand. «He’s wearing flip-flops,» said my husband. «Yes,» I replied, «but he’s probably wearing them in some ironic, hipster way.» The intriguing menu and a sense of rebellious pride won my skittish self over, and I followed my husband in.(But with my iPhone in front of my face, just in case we didn’t look vapid enough for this scene.) I kept asking Mike, «Are you sure? The music’s pretty loud.» Before me all I could see was the bar and a bunch of backless sofas no more than a foot off the ground. The hosts were friendly, but my sensors were flashing«Danger! Could be SO overrated!» After a short wait(fewer than 10 minutes on a Friday night), we were led around the corner to an enormous room of circle-booths and tables. Our four-top was comfortably nestled between a booth, a pillar, and a table for eight.(Yes, comfortably. A surprise.) All of the circle-booths in the middle of the room put me in mind of a reimagined Tilt-a-whirl platform. The spaciousness(think high-high ceilings) seemed to help the loud music fade, not pervade. No repeat of the miserable«trying too hard» experiences at Serendipity 3 and BLT Burger here. Like I said, the prices were high as well. Still, with excuses of my upcoming birthday and a certain«may as well do this right since we may never do this again» attitude, we ordered the following: Guacamole(to share) Roasted Plantain Empanadas(to share) Chopped Mexican Salad(for me) Beef Picadillo Empanadas(for Mike) Asada Tacos(for Mike) Farmer’s Market Quesadilla(for me) Chips and salsa came out first, of course. I liked the chips and imagined they would please most preferences: thick, but with air bubbles. Our salsa trio was tomatillo, mango-habanero, and — I think — a roasted chipotle. The tomatillo was delicious; a little sour, a little bitey, a little complex. Texturally, this was the most substantial salsa. The other two were much thinner, but that seemed to be by design. They carried ample flavour despite not being scoopable.(If you prefer a chunky red sauce, you aren’t going to be happy.) Despite the medium-heat chipotle salsa, we still could appreciate the chipotle aioli dabbed under and over the plantain empanadas. These empanadas were much softer than expected, softer than Mike’s beef ones, but the black bean/plantain/requeson mixture was interesting and not like anything I’ve had before, in a tasty way. It’s such a rare treat to be surprised by food. My salad was also interesting — apples, tortilla strips, anejo cheese, poblanos, corn, onion, green olives, tomato — but it grew less remarkable halfway in. I wish more places would offer half-salads(at half the price). I also thought the salad was a little overdressed, despite the pleasant if mild taste of the red chile and lime vinaigrette. The crunch of the salad didn’t last. It was good, but it was big for a non-entrée salad(at a big price) and couldn’t compete with the other starters. The guacamole was the best I’ve had in the States. I’ve gone most of my life hating guacamole, then I had some earlier this year in Colima, Mexico, that changed my whole view of avocados. Dos Caminos’ guac wasn’t really the same, being much more creamy, but it still runs a close second to what I had in Colima. I would’ve liked a pinch more salt in it, but I’m a salt fiend.(No salt nor pepper on the table. The chef must be pretty confident.) The quesadilla was elegant in presentation and — mmm mmm mmm! — «caramelized» onion isn’t just a pretty brown colour here. And the thin slab of wild mushroom, so full of taste and perfectly grilled — moist but not slimy. The zucchini was subtle and smoky, but I forget the other vegetables: it’s dark at the table, and I kept closing my eyes in ecstasy. This meal was wonderful, so why four stars instead of five? One, the prices. They feel about 20% too high across the board. Two, the pacing at the start of the meal was rushed; we didn’t really get to enjoy our chips/salsa/guac before the appetizers/salad descended. Three, the server didn’t box up our guacamole with the rest of the leftovers despite the bowl still being 2⁄3(or nine dollars’ worth) full. Mike will have to write his own review, especially about the tiny size of his tacos, but suffice to say that he knows where he wants to go for HIS birthday.

The 2 stars is strictly for a $ 25 off coupon and friendly service. Otherwise, the food here shouldn’t go any where beyond 1 star, that is, if you’re feeling generous. We walked in to a empty restaurant around 5pm, but they had happy hour specials so we decided to sit in the lounge area on the right side. If you like Vegas fine dining, then you’re used to seeing extravagant prices in restaurants. Some of them can be justified, either it’s some fancy French cuisine, or wagyu steak, or by some multiple Michelin star adorned celebrity chef. But when you see Vegas prices for Chinese or Mexican food, you do a double take. It’s just weird. It doesn’t compute. That’s pretty much the feeling I get here. The prices are simply ridiculous. Since it was happy hour, we ordered their«famous» guacamole(down to a measly $ 9 from their normal $ 14). We tried some fancy version of their jalapeño poppers stuffed with crab, a king crab ceviche(from their menu at regular price $ 16), and a few of their margaritas. BOOM, that’s over $ 50 already, and thats with happy hour prices! Their tortilla chips were on the stale side, and their 3-version salsa was pretty bad. They were all so watery. Sure, they had some kick to it, but no depth in flavor. Their guac tasted pretty ordinary to me – it was on the creamy side, so they likely added some crème fraîche(or probably just ordinary sour cream). It was okay, we can all make better guac at home. Although spicy, the crab stuffed jalapeño poppers were soggy and looked like they were just microwaved. The king crab ceviche was an absolute joke. It was literally about a tablespoon of crab meat lightly tossed in some dressing and placed in a short, hollowed out king crab leg shell. Presentation may have looked pretty good, but it was all show and no substance. $ 16 for that, which is just highway robbery. The waitress was friendly, but they took forever to apply our coupon. Wouldn’t return again!

We came in for Restaurant week, we sampled that special menu and ordered off the regular menu. First, we got started with chips and salsa. Chips were excellent, the salsa trio was pretty bland, considering it was supposed to be mild, medium and hot. The habanero salsa was pretty weak, it needed A LOT more kick. Next up were our appetizers Queso Fundido and Vegetable Clayuda Herbed flat bread, goat cheese, pumpkin seed pesto. The flatbread was different, and that’s why I chose it. It was a nice blend of fresh flavors. The fundido outshined it, however. You can never go wrong with ooey gooey cheese. This version was executed particularly well. The chorizo on the side was quite enjoyable. On to the entrees, Cochinita Pibil for him. Which happens to be a favorite dish of mine from the Yucatan. Unfortunately, this rendition did not bring me back to Mexico. It lacked flavor and it was far too wet. I had the lobster chile relleno. A sophisticated version of a classic dish. It was very tasty. Lastly, we split Café de Olla Mousse Cake. It was large so I was happy we opted to share. It was also very good. The mousse wasn’t too sweet and the cake was nicely moist. Service was attentive. Overall, everything was satisfactory. It was a nice end to our gluttonous week.

We came here after realizing all buffets would be an 1.5 wait for around 7:30pm and that would cut into our waiting time for the club. Lucky for us, there was immediate seating for the bar and lounge area, and you can still order everything you would get if you eat in the restaurant area. Within minutes, they brought out chips and a sample of three different salsas/sauces for us to try. I wasn’t a fan of the habanero one but I did like the green/cilantro tasting sauce! The food averages between 18 – 30 bucks for your Mexican food fare. I went with the Ceviche Trio($ 18) which came out with three tastings of lobster, tuna and oyster ceviche. I would rank the ceviches in this order… oyster-1, lobster-2, and tuna-3. I forgot that it was a tasting but somehow, I told my body to be full off that and a langosta(lobster) taco plate I shared with a friend(it probably wouldn’t have been good if we got into the buffet and went straight into the club). I loved loved every single bite of the langosta taco and somehow, the black beans that it came with truly stole the show! It was a little pricy considering portion alone but for taste, I think it was on point. I would come back here again and try to get some drinks in there too. All in all, service was attentive and food was good AND we made it to the club on time. Got pretty much everything I wanted out of coming here.

3.5 stars A $ 20 million«modern» Mexican restaurant with a killer décor of skulls, gorgeous chandeliers, and phenomenal lighting fixtures. A hip place to WOW guests as you enter through the tall iron gates. We arrived for our Sunday brunch, skipping the idea of typical Vegas buffets and opted for a refined experience. Ordered the infamous guac($ 13 serves 2) which was excellent in every way; creamy, chunky, and full of flavor and the tamales and eggs($ 13) with a side of chorizo($ 10). The tamales and eggs were good. The chunky avocado on the side was great, but the scrambled eggs lacked hearty flavor. I wanted cheese, I wanted salsa. It was just ok. The chorizo was meh. Dry and boring. It did not enhance the tamales nor were the 5 pieces worth the $ 5 price tag. The $ 14 blueberry pomegranate margarita, like many Vegas cocktails, was over priced. But good. Overall, a fun and eye-catching place, but food was only slightly above average. I recommend the orange habernero sauce with the chips. RECOMMENDFORAMBIANCE.
