Not the biggest, or fanciest of buffets, but I gotta give the Golden Nugget Buffet an A-Okay for the cleanliness of the buffet. Don’t you tired when there are a lot of people who riffle through the food at a buffet? And what is left is a big nasty mess! Well, you don’t have to worry about that when you come to the Golden Nugget Buffet! I must say it’s rather clean, and very well presented. I’ve eaten there mostly for breakfast & dinner in the past, and have always had a pretty pleasant experience. I was just here the other day for breakfast… the breakfast buffet is not really large with a lot of selection, but what they do have is probably sufficient for you to fill your tummy. I do like that they have a carving station, and a chef that will make you fresh eggs or a fresh omelet. Besides all the nasty breakfast meats — :Link Sausage, Bacon, Portuguese Sausage, Chicken Fried Steak, Spam, etc., they do offer a healthy fare too like oatmeal, cereal, or fresh fruit. As for me, da local boy in me gotta have his Spam! Yes, if Spam was healthy… I swear on my deathbed that I’d eat it everyday! That’s how much I love Spam!!! For you folks(NFH) = Not From Hawaii… Hawaii people eat the most Spam per any capita! Spam is da Hawaiian Steak Yo!!! See this link yourself — And don’t get me wrong, I didn’t only eat Spam here… I also had a fresh egg omelet with everything in it! And I must say the omelet was deeeeeeeeeeeelicious!!! To add some healthy junk in, I ate some grapefruit, then to ruin by healthy eating, I proceeded to eat a slice of cheesecake & bread pudding! LoL! Hey man, it’s all about moderation right? LoL! Service here is pretty good, as the waiter or waitress is pretty attentive. They also leave you a big pot of coffee(if you’re a coffee drinker), that way you won’t have to keep bothering the waiter or waitress for a refill. How’s that for efficiency? Well, if you’re ever in the downtown area, check out the Golden Nugget Breakfast Buffet… pretty inexpensive too at just $ 12.99 per person.

So my buddy and I hit the buffet based on a great memory I had a couple of years ago. Unfortunately my memories deceived me. Let me explain why… We went out there Sunday night — the seafood buffet is ONLY Friday and Saturday. Every other night they basically only have shrimp. While they were decent certainly nothing to write home about. For some reason they had«warm plates» right next to cold shrimp — dumb. As far as the rest of the food, pretty poor. The sushi was very limited and while it was relatively fresh(watched the chef making it), it was very bland. The meatballs and pasta were awful, as was the Chinese food. The only thing of note in my mind was the desserts. They were plentiful and in a size such that you could have a few tasters without having to pick a single one. As far as the staff, generally career waitresses who seem to care less. Was drinking a soda and they kept refilling it with warm soda and never added ice. Maybe the seafood buffet is still good, but I would t hit this buffet again unless you enjoy desserts at a slightly lower cost than the strip buffets.

Food not so great and they were out of stuff. There are a lot of other places to go. Some of the people serving… the omelette guy for instance was very rude. the carver guy scared me, but he was harmless. sorry. I can’t recommend

This is by far the worst buffet we have ever been to; there aren’t many selections; prime rib was over cooked!(Nooo! why you wanna mess up prime rib like that!?!) Other meats were dry as well. The only thing that was delicious was the coconut cream pie, but not worth $ 30! Very few selections Poor quality Over-priced Crowded in seating area; tables too close together

Food was decent and so was the price. A little worried when a guy behind us got into an argument with the man behind us. Otherwise yummy after a night of partying.

Recent visit, very disappointing, the guy cutting the beef has no customer service skills and needs to be reported to his management. Older mexican guy who the Nugget can’t get rid of and he knows it. When my son asked him about the meat selection he responded with«this is all we have» not answering the question and the topper was I overheard him speaking to the sushi chef complaining about an Asian customer who had limited english in which he had a difficulty hearing and arrogantly had to asked her to speak english. This guy ruins it for the rest of the hard working staff.

Dinner is worth the extra $ 6. over lunch. You get a sushi bar instead of a sandwich board. Better soups at diinner. And lunch’s soups replace breakfast’s hot cereals. Lunch’s peel-your-own-shrimp replaces breakfast’s pancakes & waffles. Nice big sandwich slices replace cold cereal Lunch is a much better value at only $ 2. more than breakfast. During the weekend, there are 2 prices, both higher, all day.

I decided to try out this buffet because Paradise Buffet at the Fremont was closed. The all you can eat was $ 29. ouch… but the saving grace was The prime rib — which was off the charts!!! I ate like a beast… Seafood: clams, mussels, crab legs, shrimp, etc! Padifilo was my server, and provided awesome service! The ladies at the front desk was also friendly and we shared laughs! Well that’s my review!

We were looking for a good place to eat preferably buffet in downtown and we ended up here and I’m really impressed the food were very good for the price we paid and our waitress was awesome. She gave us everything we want so quickly. Compare to paradise buffet in Freemont this is by far the best in downtown and the price is affordable. I know for sure that we are coming back here now that we found em.

I don’t know why there’s a lot of bad reviews but with those aside, the Gold Nugget buffet was decent. We went on Thanksgiving and it took about thirty minutes before we got in to be seated. The food stations were all busy especially the pasta line where you could customize the pasta to your liking by choosing the pasta, sauce, and the type of meat. I was actually waiting to go further for the other food since people were waiting when really it was just the pasta line. The rest of the food I tried like the sushi were good in my opinion. There was a whole section for dessert and their ice cream was pretty good. It wasn’t self-serve but that was fine. Our waitress was nice and friendly as well. I thought this was a good buffet.

Their buffet is pretty good too. It isn’t the biggest I have seen, but they made up for it with quality food and neat little extras(homemade smoothies for breakfast!). Yes, this isn’t the show-stopping buffets that you expect to see in Las Vegas, but it doesn’t come with the show-stopping price. It was about $ 12 a person and if you are lucky and have a buy one get one coupon, it is even cheaper. Six bucks for AYCE? That isn’t bad. The trick is, stay at the hotel and they will give you coupons to eat at their restaurants.

I was not impressed with this buffet especially with the price tag. I had better food at another buffet in a much less swanky casino. They need more variety, and waiting staff to be more attentive. The lady was very much so once she came back from her break. But I would expect more from the hefty price tag.

Wow — I don’t understand how this place does not have higher stars. I ate here when I got married 8 years ago(before I ever had Unilocal — did it exist back then?) I loved it then! Now as I stay at the Golden Nugget — AGAIN, I’m eating here again. Lunch, Dinner, YUM I love this place. The food is amazing. The variety is awesome, and the price — unbelievable!!! If you are staying at the Golden Nugget, or you are even at Fremont Street, go to the elevators, or take the escalator and go treat yourself to a great buffet for an amazing price!

The food is pretty good. The ice cream bar is where it’s at. Raspberry sorbet and orange sorbet. Seated a group of 16 for us. Some of the staff was a little rude but we didn’t interact with them for long. The servers are nice and quick to clean the table for you.

Very small selection, very high prices, very cold food, very disappointed… I would suggest paying a little bit more and heading down to the strip and visiting one of the main casinos where you will have a better selection and be more satisfied.

Not a great spot for foodies, picky eaters, adventurous palates or people who don’t love the American food profile, but better than other buffets in the area. During our recent stay in Vegas, my spouse and I came here twice for what was essentially brunch in the mid-afternoon. They’ve usually got a red meat roast on the carving station, along with something I wouldn’t eat, like a roast turkey or some ham. They have a little Chinese food and a little Mexican food, but nothing very good, very spicy or very interesting. There’s the usual breakfast fare– eggs, bacon, sausage kind of stuff. I don’t eat any of that really, but my hubs did and he said it was fine. Now that I mention it, I think that word basically sums this buffet up nicely. It’s fine. It’s not great. It’s not spectacular, but it’s just fine, especially if you’re able to take advantage of a half price coupon Monday through Friday. :-)

I love buffets and I enjoyed this one. The fried chicken and Chinese food were my favorite and it’s cheaper than other buffets. If I’m in downtown Vegas again, I will definitely come here again.

Service was great. Our waiter Bobby was very attentive to us. I came here because of the memories of Old Vegas. Yes the buffet may not be as lavish as the others, but the food was good and i liked many of the items. Very warm staff and smiles all around. So many people do not know how Vegas began. Yes the Northern Strip is all the hype, but places in Old Vegas are landmarks.

Came here one evening. We got lucky that it was seafood night so it cost $ 25 a person. Food was worth the price. It was not so busy and the food was always refreshed. The staff was nice, friendly and attentive. They gave us a bucket to put all out seafood shells in. Very convenient. I wish they had wet wipes to clean up after though. The dessert bar was awesome. They have fresh whole pies and a server to give you real ice cream on a cone. They had plenty of meat dishes and sushi but I stayed away. Too filling. They also had crab mac and cheese. We stayed about 3 hours. Next time I would like to try their mimosa lunch.
