Griffith United Methodist Preschool & Day Care

This is a wonderful place to take your children for daycare. I would say it’s a perfect blend between a structured daycare facility and the feeling of in-​home child care: personalization, warmth, and compassion with the structure and high expectation of developmental and educational growth. I have my two children enrolled here. My oldest has gone here since she was 3 months old and is now 4 years old. Her former teachers still give her the biggest hugs and always have time to chit-​chat with her, and with me. It feels like another family for my children. Many of the teachers have been there for a long time, so there’s a feeling of continuity and that is comforting. Because of this, I have developed good relationships with most of the teachers there over the years. I always enjoy watching my children for a few minutes before announcing my presence; they are engaged and active at any given time. My oldest feels right at home; many times when I would pick her up she would say,“Oh, hi, mommy,” and then go right back to playing! That is a great sign! She is not yet in pre-​school, but she already knows all her letters and most of their sounds; she can count up to 20; she knows shapes, colors, days of the week, and song after song. Although we work at home with her, she wouldn’t be this advanced if it weren’t for attending Griffith.
My youngest is in the nursery, and the lady that took care of my oldest when she was a baby now takes care of her. They always make time to listen and tell you how the baby’s day went. Griffith is a fantastic daycare facility, it’s truly a neighborhood daycare, so it feels warm, friendly, and caring the instant you walk in. When you speak to any of the teachers or the director and watch the children in their classrooms, you know what you are feeling is genuine.
