The customer service is HORRIBLE! The lady at the front desk did not greet me or my husband, we waited for 30 minutes before anyone spoke to us. Then she told me oh we couldn’t verify your insurance, sorry. She throws my insurance cards at me and tells me I would have to call member services. While I was trying to give a rebuttal, some Hispanic people(her race of people) walked in and she told them she would be with them in just a second, when she had not acknowledged my presence ATALL. This is most uncouth, terribly run LensCrafters and optometry office I had ever been to! I will never step foot in this flea bag again. She had the nerve to have an attitude with that terrible lisp, I’m trying to understand how you hire incompetent idiots to work in healthcare.

Total incompetence. I broke my glasses last week and my old prescription was still good. I wanted to skip the eye exam and just buy my glasses. Unfortunately, I spent 20 minutes on the phone with these people, talked to no less than 3 girls and 1 guy and they still couldn’t get a copy of my prescription from my old doctor faxed over. So, I went to Eyecare Center across the street and they took care of it in 30 minutes. My advice is that if you put somebody on hold, then have three different people pick up the phone and ask the same stupid question, don’t laugh about it. It is not funny.

So the last time I was there for an appointment the front desk knew I had an appointment, yet put me in as a walkin & I had to wait 25 minutes before the appointment even started. Also, the last time the doctor(a woman, sorry can’t remember her name) kept telling me that because I wasn’t going to wait(she was pushing it) & have the dilation done, she was going to report this to my insurance. They NEVER told me I was to have this done & I had someone waiting outside for me. They kept me waiting long enough, there was no way I could wait another 1 — 2 hours. This time they knew I had an appointment, & while the assistant took my preliminary tests(she wasn’t very friendly — when she repeated something, she did it in a cold emotionless manner), I was left waiting in the exam room for the doctor. The next thing I knew, I hear the doctor talking to someone there about food. This conversation went on for I don’t know how long. When the doctor came in, she saw me briefly, she wanted my computer glasses, so I had to get them from Lenscrafters across the hall because they were cleaning them. I take all of 2 minutes, come back & the doctor is GONE. She sent in another assistant to take my distance glasses(what? I was ONLY there for my computer glasses issue) & I said I think you made a mistake. The girl goes to check, comes back & says no, she wants your distance glasses. I think it was just a way to stall to make it seem like the appointment was moving along when it wasn’t. That done, I had to wait for the doctor again. Finally the exam is over & it took an hour. I thought I was going to be in & out of there in 30 minutes, but with all the waiting & from what it sounded like double or triple booking, I had to pay the cost. We will see if this new prescription is any better since she said it was basically the same prescription(lowered it down by one), but I just can’t see my computer clearly. Also I spent $ 175 on frames at Lenscrafters next door(they & the doctor share the space together) & when I got the computer glasses back, they had fingerprints on them. An older guy who came over to see what I wanted, took them from me & was not friendly at all. He just stared at me as if I was ruining his day & looked like he didn’t want to be there at all. Not even an apology for me having to wait again for them to be cleaned. I’m not even sure the arms were cleaned by the other guy like they said they would attempt to do, although I have to assume they were handled because of fingerprints. What kind of an eye glass company leaves fingerprints on lenses?

Horrible customer service. The technician has no patience towards the elderly patients. You need to clean the house and reconsider your values towards customers and not your attitude!!! If you don’t like your job you don’t have to be here. You work in the medical field, dealing with people’s health requires patience. Your lunch break can wait after my scheduled appointment. Not my issue you didn’t have a good start of breakfast. Please find another location perhaps switching your job to a different field other than medical. Prior to booking appointments its probably a good idea to explain billing procedures as well as the process of dilation. This is beyond Horrible. Never coming here again.

The consistency between the administrative and doctors is ridiculous. I called to book my appointment. Easy with no problems. They looked insurance up and told me the fees. I get here and they tell me I have to get my eyes dilated which creates you to avoid sunlight and just lights in general for 4 –6 hours. I did not plan this and hand to cancel everything for the next hours. I find it unprofessional to not explain procedures prior to coming in especially when you asked. I felt she was just trying to upscale this other procedure. Then to have the girls start whispering about patients is extremely unprofessional. The nurse and doctor we extremely nice though. They did my test and I was out in shortly. I asked if I had a slight astigmatism or needed to get my eyes dilated, and the doctor said no. I hope they hire new front desk staff. I might consider going somewhere else to avoid the rude and unprofessional staff upfront.

Pushy and overly aggressive, for you to get things you don’t need. Know of two people that have gone to this location and both did not have a good experience with them.

I made an online appointment for my son, in which I entered lots of information including my insurance carrier and the group and member number. I mistakenly assumed that they would use this information to pre-verify coverage. When I arrived(after taking my son out of school early) nothing had been verified. After waiting 40 minutes I was informed that the computers were down, so the coverage could not be verified at that time. A made another appointment and asked that they please call me to let me know that the insurance was verified. No one called me! Why would they ask you for your insurance information in advance if they aren’t even going to verify it?

I’ve been going to see the docs over at LensCrafters in the Boulevard Mall for quite a few years now. At one point I decided to go find a different doctor. one more ‘upscale’ I suppose. well, I went to a Dr. Ohriner, who has a pretty big reputation in this town, and he was terrible. Snarky, uncaring, and I wound up leaving with a pair of glasses that were ill prescribed. I was getting headaches! I complained and was told that I’d have to pay for another office visit if I wanted the prescription revised. Needless to say, I resumed going to the docs over at LensCrafters. Most recently, my son and I both saw Dr. Thumm. He was GREAT. He treated us both kindly and we’re very happy with our prescriptions. He was patient in going over the results of the various tests and talking with me about macular degeneration. Overall — very happy with this office.

Great location, at the mall of course. I understood it was a busy day but the technician that did the pre-exam was very thorough, knowledgeable and very friendly. Although it is located at the Boulevard Mall, this office is in no way ghetto in action, shape or form. The team that seels the eye glasses next door are just as professional.

It’s hard to review something as standard as getting your eyes checked and getting new glasses, but I’m going to give it a go anyway. This Lenscrafters is located in the Boulevard Mall off of Maryland(hello GHETTO). But it is the closest to me and I have been a customer here since… well, since my eyesight went to shit at about the age of 19. I had lost my glasses almost a year ago and I had not had a check-up on my eyes for about 3+ years. It was time. So here’s one thing that ticks me off and I’m not sure if this is just Lenscrafters or if it’s just anywhere you go to buy glasses: WHY are all the glasses designer labels? I don’t understand. They are glasses! I need them to SEE, not to make a fashion statement! After I got my eyes all lasered and read the charts and all that jazz I went to pick out my frames. Do my eyes deceive me? Are all these glasses $ 99.95 or more? Why yes, they are, because they are Dolce & Gabbana! It just seems unfair to me that all the decent frames come with a symbol on them that means I have to pay upward of $ 70 markup. All of the frames that are not designer labels are horribly ugly. Anyway, I did find a decent pair and the customer service with getting them ready for me was fine. My mother and I browsed the mall for the 30-mins it took for them to make my glasses. Overall the customer service was good.
