I had the experience of working on my MacBook Pro 15″ when it just blinked and quit. It had worked for my business since 2009 and I needed it badly. It was improved with 1TB hard drive and memory maxed out. I needed this machine and I made an appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store in Fashion Show Mall. After I waited for almost one hour past my appointment time I was finally greeted by a young man who looked at my machine, took it into the back to «open it up and check» and a short time later he came back with the sad news that the logic board had failed. I was quoted a $ 2000.00 price for the repair and a four week wait. He further said that I could buy a new MacBook Pro 15″ with a retina display, a 1TB hard drive and a much faster speed for $ 2800.00 so the repair may not be worth while. I told him I would have to think about it and took my machine home. The more I thought about the quote the more wrong it seemed. The next day I took the machine to Mac Tek and met Veronica, the owner of this Apple Certified Service Center. Veronica examined the machine and confirmed that the logic board was defective and needed replacing, but with two major differences, a price quote of $ 650.00 and five days to repair, which she did. Going to the Apple Store in Fashion Show Mall, CAVEAT EMPTOR. Go to Mac Tek instead and visit Veronica, you will get honest, competent, skilled service at a proper price from a great skilled Apple Certified Service Center. Thank you again Veronica
