I am a Vegas local and have pretty much seen most of the magic shows. Stefan Vanel at the Harmon Theatre is by far the best! Here’s why: — My mother-in law was in town to celebrate her 75th birthday. We wanted to take her on a hot air balloon ride, but that day the wind was too strong, so the ride was cancelled. My husband got last minute tickets to see Stefan. After the show she cried as we were driving away and told us this is the BEST birthday she ever had! Every trick that Stefan does he puts his heart in. He is very humble and sincere. Not only that, his assistant is not just some pretty girl, she’s a first rate dancer. The show is funny, beautiful, classy and mesmerizing. At $ 35 per ticket, it’s worth every penny. We seen it twice and will go back for more. Suitable for all ages.

This is a newer show at Paris Las Vegas having started June 1st. The star of the show is Frenchman, Stephane Vanel, does several sleight of hands tricks – twice with cards and once with metal discs. He also does two illusions involving one of his assistants disappearing in a box with the standard swords pushed through and she reappears after the box is expanded unscathed. The show is opened by an entertaining comic. His routine involves asking audience members to call out zip codes and he tells them where they’re from. I was the last person who called out«13862» and surprisingly he said, «Somewhere in Central New York. Uh, what about Whitney Point?» How many people would know the zip code of that area that has just over 1,000 residents? However, I think I figured out how this is done. I’ve seen him perform here somewhere before but I can’t remember where. Even though I think I figured it out, it’s still an entertaining bit. Then Vanel comes out and does the card sleight of hand where card after card after card appears seemingly from nowhere including out of his mouth. There’s a short interim where his two assistants dance. These ladies are simply delightful and almost resulted in this show getting an extra star. Ooh la la! Their costumes are so skimpy. Vanel then does an illusion with the one assistant. After this, the comic comes back out to do a funny routine that had the crowd laughing a lot. Some more sleight of hand, a bit more dancing, and then another box illusion with a different set up and conclusion and so goes the show. One of the breaks in the sleight of hand tricks and illusions was provided by the dancer Haspop, a dancer from France who worked for Cirque du Soleil in the Love show at the Mirage. He made it to the semifinals of the 5th season of America’s Got Talent and he does a wonderful dance to break up the magic. All this takes place in just over and hour. General admission is $ 34.50 and VIP seating is $ 49.50. I managed to get a comp ticket, but I’d recommend someone look for comps through Caesars Entertainment or for discounted tickets at one of the ticket outlets.
