This is the best hourly studio in Las Vegas. The parking lot features clean ash trays and a picnic table. There are 5 rooms ranging in size and price. All types of bands practice here and everyone is pretty cool. Earplugs, snacks and water are available in the office. Sometimes I go to MDV just to have a quite place to cry to myself. You can call far in advance or the same day to book your time. HAVEFUN!

Hourly rehearsal rooms. Fully back lined with gear. $ 15 to $ 25 an hour is pretty cheap. Especially if you jam with 3 or more people, the cost is nothing when it’s split up. No cops, no drama, and a clean fuckin bathroom! Love this place!

Sick and tired of the cops always breaking up band practice just when you’re getting started? Neighbors stressing you out about their pets and elderly relatives slowly dying from the nonstop metal barrage? Need to get away to practice actual soloing, since you already nailed Dragonforce in Guitar Hero? Not quite ready for the stage yet but want a small contingent to see your band’s burgeoning skillz? Getting pissed at the endless stream of questions? Then MDV is definitely the spot for you! Much more than just a «Web Design» place as described here, MDV houses several plug-n-play practice rooms in the complex and offers 24⁄7 reservations for band practice, studio recording, pre– and post-production as well as the multimedia you will need to get your show off the ground. Unlike LA, there aren’t as many studios here in the desert for bands looking to book practice time. Also unique to MDV is the mutual respect and lack of attitude we get whenever we’re there, whether it be 3pm or 3am. Some other operators have the«we’re doing YOU a favor, scum!» attitude and what should be an enriching activity(practice) to look forward to becomes a real pain in the ass because you’re always under the gun. Speaking of which, the rates here are very reasonable… I’d put up a breakdown here but you’re better off calling or checking their site to be sure. The ubiquitous myspace rears its ugly head:
Enjoy the laid-back vibe here, hang out on the couches(in the big room), bring as much or as little of your own gear as you want, bring some friends and still have a productive session. Don’t be a Dique. Apparently, MDV’s started a label of sorts? Roster includes: SLAVESOFTHESONKING INDULGE OMEGARILLA SONICSEDATION VERSION9 MDVALLSTARTS SHOTGUNZ&GASOLINE Granted, it’s not ALL bunnies and rainbows. The acoustics in the smaller rooms make it hard to discern actual notes if your drummer uses anything bigger than brushes, and since it’s rectangular, everyone’s in a straight line and the sound leaks out the sides even if the P.A. is flattening Those Tiny Hairs In Your Ears for good. Easy to feedback too, so keep that goddamn mic down hip level for the love of gawd. Oh, and drummers… Those white outlines all over the black drop cloth, in the big room? That ain’t chalk, dawg.
