The server is out of her mind! We arrive at 12 for the reverse happy hour which runs from 11 – 1 because every restaurant is seemingly closed by 12 outside of tbe freemont district. They have .50 wings and 2 – 1 drinks. Score! I thought it was just a bar you sit at, enjoy drinks and food. I would have been fine with that concept in fact to save labor cost and the issue of the server wanting to get out in a hurry they should just do away with the cocktail server position. The server, jenny, told us immediately that she was off the clock in 10 – 15 minutes so we need to put our order in. We had just sat down and those were the first words out of her mouth. I can understand closing time but its a casino bar and honestly there are no doors to literally close! She asks what we want to drink but didnt provide a menu. I usually know what i want but my goodness if you want to leave in such a hurry that the service and reputation of your job suffers then please quit! She took our order and kept confusing my friend bwtween a double and single drinks. The wings came and they were good but the blue cheese dressing, which was in a seperate plastic ramekin, covered a portion of 3 wings on both of our orders!!! Was this lady walking through a snake pit to get these to us? How does that much blue cheese end up on our wings before the plate arrives to the table??? She asks if we would like to order another round becuase shes clocking out soon and happy hour is ending shortly and how we will be paying all in the same breath without leaving the table. I had a chicken wing in my mouth and my friend was in the same situation. I was confused and became irritated. We said we pay CC and seperate bills. She came back with the drinks and brought the bills shortly after and then took it upon herself to offer us advice: ’ you guys should come earlier if you want to enjoy happy hour so you arent rushed! ‘. It was WHAT she said and the condescending tone of HOW she said it that turned my eyes coal red! I damn near ripped her a new one! Dont you dare admonish a patron for visiting your business no matter the inconvenience and no matter how late!!! How dare she speak to us in that manner! It was like a bad youtube video! She went on to explain her bosses question her if she clocks out late. I dont give a care and neither should your bosses we are paying their salary and there are better ways to handle this situation than the server taking it upon herself to tell us its our fault for arriving late! I left it at that instead of asking for a manager because this is the El Cortez afterall and she surely didnt know better. Over the next 10 – 20 minutes we notice a group of the establishments 4 female servers in plaid shirts sitting in the middle of the bar at a table with their 4 boyfriends. This place is decorated nicely but unprofessional beyond comprehension.

Love the set up and look of this little lounge, very old school Vegas feel. Dropped in while Life is Beautiful was raging outside for the three days in late September and was unnerved to see out of place youngsters in mom shorts and skinny jeans swarming this joint. Yikes, is anyone checking IDs? Such a weird vibe, totally a one off, but, their money is just as beautiful as anyone’s, so hey, welcome one and all. Keep Nevada green! Anyway, the reason for three stars is cocktails. We happened to drop in during late night happy hour, but I wonder if quality of drinks fluctuates at a normal time. If it does, I’m game! If it doesn’t– steer clear. The $ 3 pint sounded AWESOME, but turns out it’s only the IPA and I don’t do bitter and hoppy. Second option– 2 for 1 cocktails– sure, let me double fist those Bloody Marys! Except that the quality of the mix is so bottom of the barrel, I would hardly consider serving these to complimentary cocktail patrons in the slot pit, let alone people who are paying money for their beverages. I’d like to give them another try one day, but it might take me a bit to get back to this bar with the choices and competition DT provides.

We had quite the underwhelming experience here. We were here in the early evening on a Saturday. So perhaps things are better later at night? Décor is nice. Not much in terms of ambiance, though. There was only one server. They do have a happy hour. I wanted to try one of their original cocktails. There are two on the menu, two of which they couldn’t make because they were out of ingredients. So I settled on the Green Zombie. Worst. Cocktail. Ever. Really, ever. I tried to drink it and just couldn’t even stomach it. I literally pushed away alcohol. Yet, the world still seems to be standing and hell hasn’t froze over? I’ll drink bad drinks. But I couldn’t handle more than a couple of sips of this one. So terrible. The bathtub jungle juice at bad frat parties is a high-end and good cocktail compared to this one I had. And the server never asked how it was or seemed to care that it went practically untouched. There is a small food menu. We opted for the teriyaki shrimp. It took about 25 minutes for this one dish to arrive. And we got one napkin and one fork with it, even though there were two of us. It was tasty enough. And again the server never came back to check on us. Now, I would understand if it was crowded or something. But at this point, there was another table of two and another table of three, and that’s it. After awhile, we finally managed to flag her down and get our check. I so wanted to like this place — it’s got some good reviews. Maybe it was just a bad day and a bad bartender? But we definitely did not have a good experience here. Worst. Cocktail. Ever. EVER.

This place truly is a hidden gem which is located in the El Cortez Casino. I love martinis especially Lemon Drop martinis and it is very hard to find someone that knows how to make a great one. Well I finally found that place. I might even consider it in the«best I’ve ever had» category. To top it off the bartenders were amazing and the drink were affordable for DT Vegas. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. I highly recommend this place.

Super cute classic cocktail bar hidden within the El Cortez! Great happy hour all cocktails are 2 for 1. Our bartender, Scott, made us an amazing off menu beverage. He’s super knowledgable on craft/classic cocktails. I strongly suggest popping in here for a drink!

I’ve stopped at the Parlour Bar a few times now when I’ve been out and about downtown. Good drinks at good prices and the lounge area has comfortable seating. Sometimes they’ve had live music or even an Elvis impersonator there. Usually it doesn’t take long to get a drink since it’s so small but sometimes there is a bit of wait. Still a place I like to drop into for a drink.

«A lounge? In here? Inside the El Cortez? Are you sure?» Is what my husband asked. I replied, «I know there is a lounge in here somewhere…» I was right and it is a really nice lounge in the El Cortez. The cushy leather chairs and booths make for a very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. We were in town for a weekend and it was raining like mad. We got dropped off in DT just to bar hop around and this was our first stop. We started with a(quite large, tasty and refreshing) Lemon Drop for me and a Miller Light for him. He then moved on to an Old Fashioned while I was still drinking my Lemon Drop. I then had a Scottie and he asked Scottie to make him something of his choosing. The Scottie is like drinking a Cherry Limeade Kool Aid with a kick. A must have if you like cherry limeade. All of our drinks were fantastic, delicious and at a perfect price point! The people were very friendly inside the bar, especially the bartender Scottie. The rain let up, so we moved out, but it is a great place to relax, watch a game or talk with your friends while imbibing in some crafty drinks. Mos def worthy checking out if you’re in DT and looking for a place to hang!

When visiting downtown Las Vegas you cannot skip the historic El Cortez Hotel and Casino. It is an iconic institution, one worth stopping in and helping it remain relevant, and they’ve added a couple of cool things to help entice you. 1.)… free White Castle Cheeseburgers to slots and table customers on Thursdays and holidays! F*ck yeah! How awesome is that?! They wheel these little fatty bitches in a steam cart to all of those numbed asses, sitting, smoking, pulling levers and pushing buttons… me being one of them. Then there is the other, and more consistent reason to visit, The Parlour. This medium sized cocktail lounge nestled in the back of the hotel lobby has only been around a few years but it feels like it has been there since the beginning; and that is what the ownership was going for. A taste of old Vegas in a fresh new space. They have a piano area and on Wednesdays from 8pm — 12pm they have a crooner who sings Frank Sinatra, and on Saturdays from 6pm — 10 pm they have an Elvis Impersonator. Scottie, quite possibly the nicest bartender I have ever met, makes a mean Bloody Mary and even though I normally don’t like them, I have to admit it’s one of the best I have ever tasted and a great hangover cure. Our time here whizzed by and I could see myself spending an entire afternoon or early evening here. It is a great place to go after brunch or before dinner. I highly recommend. It is also worth checking out El Cortez’ Cabana Suites across the street as a hotel option. If you are looking for just a downtown Las Vegas experience which, believe it or not, with all the new development going on there is an strong argument for that choice, I think it is a great option, one that I am considering for my next trip.

A friend and I recently dropped in to check out the menu and the bartender Scott was so attentive and sweet! We are opening up a tour company and were interested in having a mini launch party inside the parlour room, well he went through every single option with us and even caught up with us outside to follow up on something that he forgot to mention. The only reason that it is 4 stars us because we did not have any drinks yet. We will be returning on November for our mini launch party and then I will either add or subtract a star based on beverage quality. The theme and ambiance is wonderful, a throw back to the speak easy prohibition days, fits in with the retro theme that is El Cortez

Eclectic mix of people. Stunning blend of hipster kids and legit vagabond types in an(unintentionally?) retro décor. I ordered 3 fireball shots, because they had a happy hour special($ 6 for a shot of fireball and a beer). Didn’t order the beer because I thought it was implied. But the bartender didn’t bring beers. A moment later I asked for the beer and he said«too late.» But 5 minutes later he poured us the 3 beers and I couldn’t have been happier! I will be back Parlour bar! I love you and your karaōke. And your jovial bartender who has truly done right by me and my Bruce Springstein singing friends!

Both the Elvis/Mr. John Brooks and Mr. Paul Pavone(resident lounge acts) are amazing performers. We have never had a bad time being serenaded by these gentlemen! They engage the crowd, made up largely of aging lady fans and the men that hold their purses… but just wait to see the twinkle in those ladies’ eyes and the youthful groove hit their hips. The bartenders are all skilled at their craft, and our favorite cocktail waitress Jenny never forgets our drinks. This place is a gem.

This is a awesome old school lounge inside the El Cortez. The atmosphere and the drinks are great. I just wish they had a piano player on a regular basis.

SIXSTARS!!! SIXSTARS!!! Dark, leather trimmed décor definitely give the Parlour an old fashioned smoking room old school Vegas kinda feel. Love love love. Drinks aren’t extraordinarily expensive, but don’t expect them to be super cheap either. So what’s with the illustrious six star rating I’ve given? +1 for the Elvis impersonator, whose name unfortunately escapes me at present but he was INCREDIBLE. +1 for Elvis’ groupies, a.k.a. his wife and their enthusiastic and awesome friends taking up the front tables! +1 for the 92-year-old lady sitting in the booth next to us, so vivacious, so full of life, and so mad when we didn’t want to dance with her… +1 for the decent prices(thank you Jameson for helping my cough) and for not fully enforcing the two drink min per person… +1 for the bartenders and servers still in old style Vegas gear… truly a throwback to the glory days. +1 for being in the El Cortez. I half expected the Rat Pack to stroll on by and take a gander at the wild scene in the bar…

Stopped in the El Cortez to meet some family before the real festivities ensued. Found this little gem hidden between the copious amounts of smoke and old people. Décor is spot on, give that 1920’s smoking club feel. High backed, roomy leather seats, low lighting, chandeliers and draping. They do have a small entertainment area, the night we were there, there was an Elvis gig(go figure). and the following night was Karaōke. Small dance area. It’s a cool little spot to catch a drink when passing through the Cortez. Give it a shot.

Really cool old-school lounge with an interesting mix of people. Came here for karaōke on a Saturday night and had a great time! The chairs are big and comfy. If it weren’t for all the smoke, I’d give it 5 stars, but that’s Vegas for you…

Went here after my cousin’s wedding and we had a blast with karaōke and old timey cocktails. They had a list of vintage cocktails that were strong at $ 8 a pop although sometimes we were charged $ 9 for the same drinks so pay attention to your tab. I can’t remember the name of mine but it was window washer blue and tasty and twice the size as the other drinks. The lounge has comfy leather seating(booth style seating and chairs) with small round tables in the middle. When karaōke started they pulled the thick red curtains shut and we were in our own little world. The smoke was unbearable at times so eventually I had to leave but while I was there it was a fun time had by all.

I was staying at the El Cortez Cabana Suites over the weekend and popped in here Saturday night for a nightcap. The reviews are great, but sadly, this wasn’t my experience. We arrived at midnight and were able to settle into some comfy chairs. What I really like about this bar is that it’s mellow and you can actually have a conversation here. Prices were average – not expensive, but not inexpensive. It was $ 23.50 for three cocktails. We missed the happy hour. We had an awful cocktail waitress. It was clear she didn’t know much about mixed drinks. I ordered a stoli, soda and lime, and she brought me a pepsi drink. She was fine with the named cocktails from their menu, but not a custom(though not atypical) order. She did have the bartender remake the drink, however. She also interrupted us to settle our tab, even though the bar wasn’t closed. It was just an awkward experience all around.

There are three bars located within El Cortez. Skip the other two. The Parlour was a helluva good time, and, frankly a sight for sore eyes as I’d been enduring absolutely awful drinks elsewhere all evening. We were pleasantly surprised to see a full menu of classic cocktails, at reasonable prices, in a swanky, classy setting complete with a lounge singer at the piano. I’m no Vegas expert, but this place matched up to the mental image I’d created prior to visiting. Service was excellent. We had a large group, plus a larger birthday party near us, and the Pendleton Whiskey gals showed up! Our one server kept those drinks coming, was super sweet, and was a great sport when we got her involved in some photo shenanigans as well. The old-timey feel and comfy cozy seats sealed the deal for this lil swank-town bar. Why no five stars? The actual drinks themselves, though a definite A for effort, and I’m not complaining, weren’t very good. Better than most drinks I had that night, but some major misses for a place trying to showcase classic cocktails(Manhattans, Juleps, martinis, etc.). I know it’s relatively new, maybe they’re still working out some kinks.

I came here after the Unilocal Party on Fremont as part of the pub crawl promo. The place wasn’t too crowded as the El Cortez was a bit farther of a walk than the other pub crawl locations. The El Cortez is well… not really a new casino… but you wouldn’t know it when you walk into Parlour Bar because the place just oozes classy and relaxed. There were long booths and plenty of comfy leather chairs for our group to sit. There’s a piano guy in there until 10pm and then later on, they had a DJ handle the musical chores. The waitress was also very cool and we did give her a tip for hustling and checking in with us all night. If I’m ever back on Fremont, the Parlour will be one of my first choices to grab a pre-dinner or post-dinner drink.
