Chicago Style Pizza… Never had it before, so on the way home from work one day, my wife wanted pizza, and we’ve driven back and fourth past Rosati’s but never stopped in, so I pull into the parking lot and I see under the Rosati’s sign,“Authentic Chicago Pizza” and so when I get home, I tell my wife«I checked out Rosati’s, but its Chicago style» Short pause… then she says«nah», so then we look through the yellow pages, and at the same time thinking what other pizzerias are close by…“how bout Settebello?” I ask. «No, no, no!(She’s not into Settebello like I am) So after about 10 more minutes and still undecided, this«don’t knock it ’til you try it mentality comes to the both of us and we both agree that its just up the street from us and we, ve never tried Chicago style pizza, so why not, LETSDOTHIS! So we get to Rosati’s and inside, there, a full bar, TVs to watch the big game, and booths filled with diners who seem like they frequent this place very often, and you can smell the pizza in the dining room! So the menu is like your typical pizzeria, loaded with endless options from sandwiches, burgers, and dogs, to pastas, salads, and complete dinners. Down the center is their speciality pizzas which can be made in the following styles: Traditional thin crust, Double dough, Pan, Super stuffed, and of course, Chicago. So trying to figure out what we’ll have, I zoom in on Rosati’s Monster which is loaded with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, ground beef, mushrooms, onions, green pepper, green and black olives, tomato, and Canadian bacon… My wife replies«check out the Rosati’s monster» so it was decided, The Rosati’s monster Chicago style… Our waitress adds, «its even better with some Giardinera, I’ll get you a side» so we thought, okay, cool…20−30 minutes to prepare this beast, negative thoughts go through our minds– is the crust gonna be doughy? is the pizza gonna be nasty and greasy? Only one way to find out! OMG! was the first reaction at the sight of this 12 inch Pie(looked more like 16) and must have weighed at least 6 – 8 pounds! It was love at first bite, and the Giardinera peppers just brought everything else over the top! The veggies were still able to maintain a little crunch, and the meats were not greasy at all, and the tomato sauce that topped the pizza didn’t taste like the canned acidic type, but more like hand crushed tomatoes. I was a happy camper after 3 slices and glad we finally stopped by Rosati’s. Remember, don’t knock it ’til you try it… ALOHA!!!

We visited on a late afternoon, mid week. The restaurant was clean. Two people appeared to be working. The beer was ice cold! Service was fast and friendly. Our salad was cold, the dressing was fresh and tasty but, really, we were here to try the pizza. We ordered an 18″ pie, thin crust. The pizza came out quickly. The toppings were fresh and plentiful. The cheese was real, the sauce covered the pie from edge to edge. They cut the pie in squares, great for this size! Crust was delicious without over bearing the pie. In short, what a great find! We will return again and again. And they deliver!
