First and the foremost, one can tell from the onset that Dr. Shields is a medical professional first, not a gain seeking businessman. Rest assured that your oral health comes first, not money!!!
I realized this better when I had a periodontal infection. My previous dentist, Dr. Paik of Apple Dental in Henderson, suggested to replace a six-​unit bridge immediately. When I asked him about my gums and the infection I had, his response was «everybody ages and there is nothing one can do about it.» And he declined when I requested a referral for a periodontal specialist visit. I knew that a second opinion was imperative.
I then visited Dr. Shields’ office in Henderson as per a referral of a close friend. Dr. Shields’ professionalism showed immediately and he told me that he would have to refer me to a periodontist immediately and would not do anything until after my gums have been treated! BINGO!!! I walked out of Dr. Shields’ office, headed to Apple Dental, and ordered my records to be transferred to Shields Family Dentistry. Dr. Shields referred me to another terrific dentist, Dr. Arpin, who treated my infection and performed a crown lengthening to clean and cure the long-​time infection and inflammation for good! Dr. Shields and his professional and courteous medical and office staff both in Henderson and Summerlin locations stayed in touch with me and made sure that I was ready for the next step. I had my bridge removed yesterday – painless – and am ready for the replacement in two weeks.
I must also add that Lisa and other staff members will make sure to help you with a painless payment plan. Shields Family Dentistry will take care of you and I highly recommend Dr. Shields without hesitation.

AWESOME DR AND STAFF. I went to Dr Shields with a special request as I was going out of town for my Mom’s 87^th birthday. My teeth are a mess and I only have 6 upper teeth left and the other day I had chipped one of them. I requested that if he could I just wanted a temporary crown until I return from my Mom’s bithday and then I was going to get a set of dentures. He not only crowned the chipped tooth but two others and did such a marvelous job that I am now considering forgetting about the dentures, that is what an awesome job he did. He and his assistant worked thru their lunch hour to accomadate me. If your looking for a gentle caring dentist you MUST go see Dr Shields not only is he a great dentist but oh so personable.

Awesome staff! The doc and his assistant are the best! The front office staff very helpful and I never had a better cleaning experience !
