On my search for a wedding venue that is not the run of the mill, I found a website for this home on Google search and got really, really excited. The house itself sits on a hill where you can see all of Vegas from its windows and pool. It’s spacious, two story 5 bedroom home that’s smartly modern interior with a game room and a conference room. It has a lovely infinity edge pool and putting greens outside among a river and waterfall feature in a desert landscaped yard. It’s beautiful and seemed to be everything I want and then some so it became the front runner. So I sent a inquiry email through their websites contact form — no response. I find their facebook page and send a message — no response. I gave about a week for a response for all my vendor inquiries before I did a follow up on all the spots with no response. I call — no response, voicemail. I call again and finally get the designer/owner on the line. We discuss some details and he says to send an e-mail with details and he can get back to me about a quote and answering some of my questions. I never got a email in the following month so I post on a recent picture of a event at the home that popped onto my FB feed to please message me as I’m very interested in having a event there too. I didn’t get a response there too. I decide to call back as this was the last home/venue on my list I haven’t gotten details about yet. He says to send a email again so I did. I got a response back a week later and now the 80 person guest list will be a problem when previously it was OK so long as I find a situation around the limited parking(like a shuttle/carpool). It was only 50 guests allowed now… which really is difficult when 80 is immediate family and friends already(I have a huge family!). I said on my email maybe a 1 or 2 night stay so I sent back a email to clarify that the 10k was per day, or two and if a tour of the home is possible to make sure everything is as nice as pictures make it look. I haven’t gotten a email back. Maybe that was the«wrong» questions to ask or something… but when it comes to the wedding I need to know what I’m committing to. We’re willing to spend on a perfect venue. I’m not using a wedding planner and maybe that doesn’t look as professional and serious of a inquiry, but I don’t trust someone better than me to know what we want. I have months til my wedding, but without a venue decision, it backs up everything else from being done. I made a lot of exceptions because this was my top pick, but I can’t help the disappointment at the communication turnaround time. I realize that it’s not managed by a company, the owners who seem to be successful business persons, but for marketing as a luxury rental destination and asking a rate that is much higher than any other rental property I’ve come across I just expected it to not be pulling teeth to try to get details before I give them a lot of money. I love the property, but I have to ditch my dream of hosting a wedding here. It really sucks, I am honestly a bit heartbroken.
