We get our Christmas tree from George’s each year and most of our flowers in the spring and summer. The prices are reasonable but the real benefit of coming here is that the staff are very knowledgable and friendly. You won’t find that at the big box stores…

George’s Market and Nursery makes one of the best cider doughnuts I have tasted in the capital region. If you come in the morning, you can get them hot and fresh. The doughnuts were very light and very fluffy. They did collapse a little in transportation home so I’d say perhaps they were a little too light didn’t hold up as well. However, they were delicious and extraordinary when at their freshest. The apple cider was quite good as well. They are also a nice place to purchase flowers, squashes and other gardening accessories. I saw a decent selection of potted flowers. There was also a decent variety of pumpkins including the smaller ones for carving, white one, and the squat baby ones used for center pieces.

I called George’s to place an order for delivery. I live hours away and knew nothing about this business. Donnette answered the phone and was not only willing to help me but sent me pictures of the plants she had to be sure I would be happy with their selection before placing an order. She packaged my order beautifully and delivered my items promptly. I cannot say enough about a business and an individual who is so willing to offer exceptional service to someone over the phone. I would have had no idea if she sold me their left over garbage but Donnette treated me like a long time customer. That says a lot about the integrity of this business and I would definitely trust them again in the future.

HUGE selection of plans, both edible and ornamental. My mom and I picked out a bunch of ornamentals to spruce up her house, and I wound up with a few herbs as well. The prices were very good as well. The shop also sells candles, candies, jams, etc, somewhat like a country store without being quite as quaint.
