Best chocolate ice cream every! So many choices of chocolate to choose from and reasonably priced. Worth a stop on your way to or from Sacramento

Great Ice Cream variety but, seating area when full of customer is compact and during rush hour is madness. The orders take a longtime during rush hour so, I Opt to go for Frozen Yogurt Instead.

I’m kind of surprised there isn’t a review here from me. Maybe because it’s set in an area that isn’t prime location. We came yesterday for a couple reasons for a potty break and I wanted ice cream! Since I have retired I’m very selective on what desserts I like to eat. Because I had worked in the medical field in the laboratory & in Transfusion Services I was always stressed out and eating chocolate because there was ample chocolate in the snack area or maybe I just worked with a bunch of chocoholics despite many were gluten free, vegans and so on! I wasn’t planning to buy chocolate bc I still had plenty in my stash at home. In fact we were here to buy ice cream for our ride home from the cherry festival. I purposely didn’t check in right away because I wanted to use the check in offer of 15% off chocolate which they did use on my ice cream order & hubby’s hot mocha. I wanted a particular flavor but they were out of it so I went with the sinful chocolate & sour raspberry sorbet. I should have passed on that sorbet as she placed it on the bottom and it was very tart. It was partly my fault as I should have gotten a sample. By the way they offered samples of milk chocolate squares with caramel yesterday. Yum!!! Before we got here the roads were so rough that I worried about our tires on this road. The store has plenty of parking in front so no worries there. In fact inside for a Saturday it wasn’t cray cray busy. I liked that bc remember I’m not a fan of crowds? We placed our order and these kids were slow as molasses. Maybe it’s just my quick thinking that I expect way too much? Because after getting our order the waitress said sorry for the wait. Was she being manipulative on purpose or what? Can you imagine if they had ten orders? Oh my! It was a nice pitstop from the bay back to Sactown. Normally we don’t make that stop because I’m anal in watching my weight. I guess hubby saw that I was watching my weight all week he wanted to spoil me bc in fact he saved his mocha for me to drink today. Now how many husbands would do that for their wives? I’m just very blessed I know for a fact. It makes up for all the other negativities in my life. And I am certainly very thankful for him. If ever you have a hankering for Ghiradelli chocolate stop by here right off the freeway. It will satisfy that sweet tooth for sure!!! That cold mocha even had a few chips at the end of the drink. Wow was that ever so tasty!!!

Stopped by this Ghirardelli outlet before returning to the Bay & service was amazing! Employees were very hospitable & had an answer to every curious question I had, a bunch of free samples were available. Even supervisors were very inviting even though they clearly looked very busy. Ordered a bunch of sundaes & all of them were made right & delicious! They can get very busy on the weekends but patience is key if you want good service also. Recommend this place for anyone who has a sweet tooth. Can’t forget 15% off if you check in!

Stopped by on a very busy Mother’s Day afternoon. The place was packed and normally we would not have ordered, but we were REALLY craving ice cream. We ordered a strawberry sundae which we had to explain to the cashier since it was not on their menu. Seriously? You work at an ice cream parlor and you don’t know what a strawberry sundae is? Then we waited… and waited… and waited. After 30 minutes, I noticed two people in the back office whose nametags indicated they were both supervisors. I knocked on the door and said that we’d been waiting over 30 minutes for two sundaes. They asked to see our receipt and went to the cashier area. Then they came back and said there were 4 orders ahead of us and that they would refund our money if we wanted it. Then they said with a lot of sarcasm, «As you can see, we’re very busy.» I was livid, but the BF told me to just chill and wait since we’d already waited so damn long. When the orders came out 10 minutes later the strawberry sundae was wrong! FFS Are you kidding me?! I was ready to blow a gasket but the BF was the voice of reason, he went up and gave back the ice cream and asked for our money back. My biggest beef was that there were TWO supervisors sitting in their office while their employees were in the weeds and guests were waiting an unreasonable amount of time for ice cream. This is a disservice not just to their guests but to their employees. And they seriously need to do away with with the attitude. I was so tempted to give it right back, but the BF said to just let it go since it would accomplish nothing.

We were immediately greeted with warm salutations and a sample! We ordered the Earthquake… an 8 scoop serving of yumminess. There were 4 adults and one 6 year old. We couldn’t finish it. It was $ 29.95. But if we all ordered separately, it would have been the same or more. Also bought some chocolates for the family back home. I checked in on Unilocal and used the 15% discount! We always pay a visit when we’re in town.

Love their hot fudge on any of their sundaes! Not a fancy place like The SF location, but the service was fast and the shop has a huge variety of their gifts!

Omg! I love this place and I love chocolate. I wanted a sundae so bad but it look like was about 3000 calories! I got a little bag of samples that will last me a few days. Maybe I can get the hubby to come here a split a sundae with me. They offer samples soon as you walk in. Plenty of tables outside to bring the family for ice cream. It’s about 15 minutes from Stockton or Tracey but Well worth it. Go check in and get 15% off your order.

Stopped by this outlet on my way back to Sacramento from the Bay. Was looking for a particular type of Ghirardelli chocolate — unfortunately they didn’t carry it because it’s specific to the stores in SF(the chocolate«snow caps»). Anyways, I picked up 5 chocolate bars(large size) for $ 12. Good deal! They had free samples and an ice cream bar. The shop was smaller than expected but had lots of sales and variety. Better value than buying it directly from the SF shops or in a grocery store. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Unilocal!deal of 15% may or may not be more valuable than their already reduced merchandise prices — just ask!

YUM!!! The sundaes are SOGOOD!!! A bit pricey perhaps but oh-so-worth it. The ice cream is so rich and thick, as is the delicious whipped cream and toppings. We got the salted caramel sundae for $ 8.50. Just the right hint of salt gracing the caramel. The ice cream flavors can be substituted… I’m never one to settle for vanilla so I got one scoop of Espresso and one scoop of chocolate in my sundae. Both were equally delicious. Plenty of parking and a free sample upon entering the store. Life is good.

Decided to make a quick stop here on the way back to LA since it’s located right off the 5FWY. From the look of the outside, I was expecting this outlet to be huge on the inside. I was so wrong… And a little disappointed. The inside was very small! Once you walk in, you are given a sample of their chocolate. How nice of them! Then you will notice 2 lines to order & a bar seating area where you can enjoy your drinks/dessert. Since this is an outlet, the chocolates were discounted just a bit. I purchased 5 regular bags of chocolate for $ 13. I believe they always have deals here, it just depends when you come! There’s a great selection of seasonal flavors and so many other options i.e. chocolate bars, cookie mix, chocolate wafers, and etc. I saw they had sea salt brownie flavor too! There is also a ice cream menu and a drink menu. Sadly, I did not order their ice cream. Instead I got a small hazelnut coffee for $ 4, which was pretty good but too sweet for my liking. Next time i’m definitely trying their ice cream sundays!

Don’t forget to stop into the Ghirardelli Chocolate Outlet the next time you are near Lathrop and I-5. Easy to see right off of the freeway and ample parking as well. Deep discounts on all chocolate like mini gift bags for $ 2.98. They have lots and lots of chocolate products. More than you can imagine! In addition, check in to Unilocal and get an additional 15% off of your entire purchase. In addition, they have a full service ice cream bar, so if you have a hankering for an ice cream sundae or banana split, this is the pace to go. Employees are very friendly, and don’t forget to get your free«sample» at the door!

Cool place. Noticed it on the way to Stockton from LA area. It’s located right off the 5 freeway in Lathrop, CA. Right when we walked in, we were offered free samples of one of their chocolates. They have great deals if you buy a few packages of the Ghiradelli Squares. LOVED their hot fudge ice cream sundaes. I was kind of unsure at first(because I don’t prefer chocolate… usually go for something fruity) but this was DELICIOUS! Great place to stop by after a long road trip drive if it’s on the way!

I drive past this place every time I make the drive to and from Los Angeles from Sacramento. I’ve always wanted to stop, but I never had the chance in the past. I finally got a chance and I took the opportunity! When I walked up to the door, there were outdoor tables and chairs set up with many people siting out enjoying their treats. I walked in and was greeted with a free piece of chocolate. I asked if there was a factory tour available and they informed me that there was no factory tour as it was only an outlet store. I was definitely disappointed. Regardless, the displays were nicely presented, neat, and well organized. The discounts were generous as well. This would be a great place to purchase gifts for others.

Out of curiosity, my wife and I decided to stop in at the Ghirardelli Chocolate Outlet and Ice Cream Shop located in Lathrop California. We happen to be headed out of town to the city of Sunnyvale for the 17 Annual Sunnyvale Summer Music Series. This is a series of live concerts held in the historic Murphy Avenue. As we got off the freeway, we made a right turn onto a frontage road. This road leading us to the chocolate outlet was in an industrial area and was really rough and bumpy. The warehouse like outlet wasn’t in the best of area, with semi-trucks going too and fro on the narrow frontage road. Next to the front entrance was an outdoor patio area with a large number of tables and chairs. To be honest with you, I thought Ghirardelli Chocolate Outlet was only selling chocolate, until my wife mentioned they also serve ice cream. Chocolate! Chocolate! everywhere! Bags and bags of all sorts of different flavored chocolates lined the selves. Some come in big bars while others being sold by the pound. I felt like a little kid in the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory. In the center of all this sweetness was an ice cream counter. They had shakes and floats, ice cream cones, and all kinds of ice cream sundae plus hot and cold Mocha and Lattes plus much much more! My wife ordered a single scoop of chocolate ice cream in a cup. She said the ice cream was a little syrupy for her, but none the less delicious! The employees were great! Making sure that all of our needs were met and also handing out«SAMPLES» For those«CHOCOLATELOVERS» and not to leave out the«ICECREAMLOVERS» this is a place you must visit! I don’t think I would make a special trip out here, but would definitely stop by if in the area. We only live once so experience life to its fullest!

I finally stopped here on my way back to Sacto from visiting So Cal. Now after visiting the place and eating their ice cream, I have to tell you, I don’t understand the allure. I’m not impressed. I love Ghirardelli chocolate but I won’t necessarily go out of my way to come back here. If I’m in the area, I would be apt to drop by for a scoop or two. The inside is small, the inventory is also limited, and the pricing is a bit expensive for my taste. A scoop of ice cream is $ 3.25. Besides the store, the building houses a warehouse and not a factory. There are no tours. However, the product pricing is a bit cheaper compared to their retail stores. The place is a nice air conditioned respite from the I5 traffic.

The stars are simply for the chocolate. The worker named Jessica was very rude and had a bad attitude. We came in for the ice cream and ordered off the menu. The ice creams we wanted all contained vanilla. When we ordered, Jessica yelled back with attitude that they do not have vanilla. We asked for chocolate. They didn’t have that either. Asked for strawberry didn’t have that either. Asked for cookies and cream. Didn’t have that either. All settled on odd flavors. Butter pecan and espresso. We also got some chocolates. And even with the Unilocal coupon it doesn’t work. The chocolates that we wanted were not on sale or promotion. But the 15% apparently did nt apply. We tried our best to be nice and understanding but Jessica was rude and unhelpful. The best thing about this place is the ice cream and the nice greeter guy. I really love Ghirardelli, but this employee made it worse for my family.

The enjoyment of discount Ghirardelli treats without having to go into The City, score! I usually stop by the outlet in Livermore for gift bags of Squares but occasionally on our way out of town to Sacramento I’ll have Hubby stop here as it’s very conveniently located. It’s fairly small inside compared to other store’s but still have the huge selection as well as Ice Cream and Drinks. I had never had Ghirardelli Ice Cream as I’m a Frozen Yogurt fan but when we brought Family here Hubby an I decided to share the ”Worlds famous Hot Fudge Sundae” and I’m glad we did share because it was freaking huge! And fairly cheap too — $ 7.95 with the upgrade to a waffle bowl( ). Something to remember is that not all of the Chocolate here is at discount rate so you may actually find some items cost more than at somewhere like Target and the 15% Unilocal Check In isn’t valid on the discounted items. *TIP* Free sample as you arrive!

Noelle’s Unilocal Notebook 2015 Ghirardelli Chocolate Outlet and Ice Cream Shop has been a family favorite since it first opened. This is a great place to stock up on Ghirardelli chocolates for gifts or a sweet treat at home. They sell chocolates by the pound, have a wide variety of chocolates in gift bags, boxes and tins. If you’re looking for baking chocolate and chocolate chips they have those for the home baker. Customer service is always friendly and fantastic. The prices aren’t always cheaper than their regular retail counterparts. For instance, I bought drinking chocolate at the Ghirardelli Chocolate Shop in Monterey for $ 13 which is the same at their Outlet shop in Latherop. Today, we picked up chocolates by the pound, chocolate chip cookies and fudge sauces(one glass jar of salted caramel, one glass jar of milk chocolate), a scoop of cookie dough ice cream and one pumpkin spice latte. If you’re wondering why they sell Lindt chocolate as well it’s due to the fact the Swiss Company Lindt and Sprungli acquired the Ghirardelli company in 1998. Overall, this is a great stop with the family to indulge your sweet tooth or pick up gifts for your loved ones!
