Fairland Regional Park

What is the sense in building tennis courts and then preventing anyone from playing by chaining the entrances? Just another case of governmental stupidity.

This review is for the park, trails, pond and outdoor offerings at Fairland, not the sports complex. There are tons of paved and unpaved trails here to explore. The baseball diamonds are kept in great shape. I love the children’s playground. It is perfect for kids of all ages and abilities. There is tons of parking, but best of all is the pond. The ducks, geese and heron are so healthy! The benches are great to sit and feed them bread. My 18 month old has a blast! The trails are not crowded during the day, plenty of dogs being walked and runners/​walkers getting some exercise. This is a hidden gem in Laurel!

Indoor Pool, Gymnasium that holds structured and open gymnastics classes. Fantastic playground, great trails and sports fields.
BEWARE IT IS UNSAFE:. My car was broken into while taking a walk. I was told by the officers that showed up, that there were usually several break ins A DAY between the rec center and the adjoining Ice Rink. There are cameras in place that apparently are unmanned, they simply record the crimes and do little to solve the problem. There is a known problem but nothing being done to fix it. I guess they are waiting for an abduction, rape or or other violent crime before they think about amping up security.
It’s a terrible shame, this would be such a great place for family fun. I will no longer be taking my child there.
