This place as ghetto as the neighborhood. Here at 9:40 and they closed early. She said«we closed early cuz of a situation«. Right

The customer service is spectacular to say the least! I walked in and was immediately greeted with a warm smile! Jessica was really great and patient with me as this was my first visit to Pie 5! I literally stumbled across this place looking for another pizza place to grab dinner… so glad that I decided to stop! After the process was explained to me, I was in and out within 7 minutes! Jessica walked me through the process and even gave me some recommendations regarding crust options. She was very honest with me when I asked specific questions. I was offered add-on’s so I opted for the side salad versus the yummy looking brownie and other goodies which was $ 2.99. I mean thanksgiving is in a few days so I’m sure that I will have my fair share of goodies! The ingredients were very fresh and I’m so glad that I stumbled upon this place! Thank you Jessica and the team at Pie 5 for making dinner for me!

I had a BOGO coupon for this place and decided to check it out. I’ve had Blaze Pizza a handful of other times, so I was excited to see what Pie Five had to offer. Overall, I wasn’t impressed. But let’s list the good parts first. Pros: interesting toppings like ricotta cheese, sundried tomatoes, and cherry tomatoes. Choice of 5 different pizza crusts. Cons: smaller pizzas than Blaze, less number of toppings, mediocre service. Flavors aren’t as good. I probably wont be coming back, especially because Blaze Pizza is right down the street from this Pie Five location, but it was worth checking out, especially with the coupon.

I had a coupon for Pie5 and decided to take my daughter for girls night out. We truly enjoyed the service as well as pizza. It is affordable and all of the ingredients are super fresh. My daughter got a kids cheese pizza, she is three and ate it by herself. I had the pan crust, which was PERFECT, topped with loads of veggies and chicken. I would definitely return and I can’t wait to try some of the other varieties they have suggested!

Always delicious, build your own pies! I work in the office building next door, but if they moved, I would drive to them! Good prices, good unsweetened tea, friendly staff. Good casual food!

I love this new trend of personalized pizzas freshly baked to order. I’ve been to Blaze and &pizza, and this place. All of which I feel only are slightly different what sauces and toppings they have to order. The pizza doughs for all are thin and nothing too crazy, options of classic, wheat, and/or gluten-free. The doughs are all slightly different. I feel pie five pizza dough are the most«healthy», or, in other words, bland. They don’t seem to fuss with the dough much and tastes almost more homemade and not restaurant style if you know what i mean, which could make or break the pizza and your decision to pay for it. What I do love is goat cheese and/or ricotta cheese on my pizza. Pie 5 has ricotta cheese, but no goat cheese(which &pizza has, but they don’t have ricotta), but I do love dollops of ricotta cheese on my pizza. However, I also love arugula and fresh crushed small grape tomatoes on my pizza to top it off, which &pizza has, but i don’t remember if Pie 5 does, it isn’t the end of the world just a nice touch. Regardless, I love this pizza trend and I will be coming back. I do agree with some other writers though. One pizza is enough for me, but one was not quite filling for my bf, but I think that’s also how we load pizza, we like veggies =P

Went to go check out Pie Five because one of my friends was raving about it. Blaze pizza is usually my go to in the customizable pizza world, but I figured if it’s anything like he claims then how can I not give it a go. When we arrive I start looking over the menu. First thing I see is that they have different types of crust. I thought that was a good sign. They have about 7 different sauces including Buffalo Ranch, and Alfredo which I thought was different. The cheese selection was decent. You get 8 meats to choose from, and some veggie toppings. Compare to Blaze thats pretty a pretty limited selection, but i’m here so i’ll make the best. I watch the lady in front of me order, and i’m like«Oh, they got kids pizzas too. That’s what i’ll get for my baby girl». Nope! That was the regular pan crust pizza, and now I know i’m not going to be crazy about this place. I order the build your own, and the lady behind the counter was very skimp with the toppings, and I knew by the time we reached the counter that this was not the place to come hungry. After I paid we ate, and I went back for another because I was still hungry(Could never do that at blaze). This time I got the thin crust, which was actually bigger and more filling then the pan crust. Overall I can be honest and say the the pizza was decent, but I wasn’t blown away. Maybe i came in with my hopes to high, but blaze has twice the selection and a better portion for you money. Maybe if the kids wanted to come back i’d bring them, but otherwise I can’t see any reason why I would want to return. #MEH

They give you a lot of choices in terms of toppings and crusts. Service is quick and it is very affordable if you’re looking for a quick lunch. Ingredients are very fresh.

Usually I’m a regular of Blaze Pizza down the street, but I decided to give Pie Five a try. The place was empty when I got there and there didn’t seem to be anyone behind the counter. It was only after about a minute or two did someone take my order. I Ordered the Five Star pie in a classic pan. The crust was not like a crust at all, it had the softness of bread and looked like it should have been cooked a little longer or in a hotter oven. The reason I gave 2 stars and not 1, is because the rest of the pizza ingredients were reasonably tasty.

Dominos who? Papa Johns? What’s that? Those are the first things that came into mind after visiting Pie Five Pizza. If you are tired of the same ol delivery pizza, that you have to pay extra to customize to your liking then look no further. Pie Five Pizza should be your go to! I have visited Blaze Pizza in the town center, and could not understand what the hype was about. So I thought the same would be the case for Pie Five. NO! All the reviews and excitement about this place are spot on! The ingredients are fresh, your pizza will come out tasty… damn near perfection. This will be my go to from here on out!

I love this place, its sooooooo much better than Blaze. They have a pie five clubs, you earn points everytime you order something. So check them out if you’re in laurel they are behind the LA fitness, next to starbucks and swim school. When you order your pizza, tell them to sprinkle on their very own MAGICDUST.

Having tried the blaze down the street, decided to try pie 5 since I love the concept of picking your own toppings. It was empty, which made me hesitate since it was noon on a Friday. I’m glad I stayed. I had the farmers market on multi grain. It was delicious. The toppings were fresh and the crust was so good. I will be back with the family, hope it is still here since the location is not ideal. Worth a stop

Just like how cupcakeries were popping up everywhere a couple of years back, individual pizza restaurants seem to be the next thing. In addition to Pie 5, I’ve tried Blaze also in Laurel, and several of the &Pizza restaurants. There’s also DC Pizza on 19th street downtown. When I first tried &Pizza in January, I was obsessed going three times in one week. Then I got a coupon in the mail for a free pie from Pie 5, which was newly opened in Laurel. Considering the fact that I live in Laurel, this was the most convenient option for me as I always have to reheat my &Pizza. The first time I went, I didn’t have the coupon on me and I decided to pay. Went back again without the coupon and still decided to pay, which must mean I like it, right? Each time I went in the beginning, I wrote this review in my head comparing the pizza to &Pizza and judged it on the differences. &Pizza has goat cheese, more drizzles to finish your pizza, shrimp(at an additional cost) and more sauce & crust options. Then I kept hearing so much about Blaze, which is in the New Laurel Town Center and near the movie theatre and stays crowded. I felt I needed to try them before I could finally write my review, however the night I stopped by they were packed and the line was moving slow and I contemplated ordering online because it would have been quicker. Instead, I decided to go elsewhere. So, that being said, even without the goat cheese, I’d say &Pizza and Pie Five are neck-in-neck for me even without the goat cheese, with Pie Five having the advantage of being close to home. And I’m getting to know the staff, who is always pleasant. Moji made the pizza in the attached picture and it was just right. Hands down Pie Five’s thin crust pizza is the best crust of them all. At first I thought they were a little skimpy on the toppings(and they were), but soon realized that if you get a lot of stuff, they can’t really pile on all of them or it won’t cook right. And, in the beginning I had to tell them to add more sauce when all of the dough wasn’t covered, but they seem to have it right now – just enough and not too much. And, they are quick. &Pizza & Pie Five will both have your pizza done in about five minutes(hence, the name), but Blaze was a lot slower. Blaze cooks your pizza in a brick oven with a person who constantly turns it, pulls it out, checks the crust, and puts it back in. The other two prepare your pizza, put it on a moving oven and its cooked when it gets to the end. &Pizza offers, goat cheese, multiple drizzles, herbs, olives and a few other things to topped your cooked pizza. Pie Five has no goat cheese, but does offer olive oil, pesto and sun dried tomato purée to drizzle over your pizza. And, they have magic dust – a mixture of Italian herbs and seasonings and parmesan cheese. All run about the same for create your own pizza with unlimited toppings and all offer signature specialty pizzas. Blaze offers sautéed onions, while the ones at &PIzza and Pie Five are caramelized – a major difference to me. To make a long story short, I love this place. :)

This business is new to Laurel. Here is the deal … they make personal size pizzas the same way you get a burrito at Chipotle. They have four types of crusts and lots of toppings. The price is the same no matter how many toppings you have put on. The concept is good the execution not so much. The ingredients are all tasty and appear to be of high quality. Unfortunately the staff is not yet ready for primetime. They seem a bit confused about almost all aspects of the order. They had trouble making the pizza, getting it in the oven and ringing up the sale. I assume much of this will get better over time. My larger concern is that the equipment and processes used appear to doom this business. The crusts are partly baked in advance and when covered with the toppings are placed on a conveyer belt that moves it through what seems like a big toaster. In any case it is not an oven and the pizza comes out toasted but not hot like a traditional pizza. Maybe this is just inexperienced operators … I will try again in a few months.

Wow! I wasn’t sure how good the pizza would be given that it comes out so quick(essentially fast food). But damn this was the best pizza I’ve had in years. I got the Artisan thin crust Five Star. Crust was perfect. Toppings were delicious. A little more than I would like to spend for a single person pizza, but honestly it cost less than most single person ones. And the taste was totally worth it.
