Great Née Year’s Eve dinner with friends. Food was excellent. Always busy on the weekends. Good for special occasions or a relaxing dinner!

Don’t miss this one. One of the best places to eat in the country(and I travel for a living).

I am hard to please when it comes to service at an upscale restaurant and do not hand out 20% gratuities just because it’s the norm. In this case, Lana got a 30% gratuity she was that good! I’ll discuss the menu in a moment but the service from the time we walked in to the time we walked out was outstanding. We started with a lobster stuffed large mushroom which had five on the plate split between the three of us. They were very rich and scrumptious. Next came family style big bowl of salad with 3 homemade dressings: buttermilk ranch, honey mustard, and creamy onion with homemade croutons which were to die for. Our plates and forks were chilled! I’ve never encountered that and it was a nice touch although a little weird eating with a cold fork. All three of the salad dressings could have been consumed with a spoon like a soup they were that good. The bread they serve with your salad was enhanced by a most delicious, and likely expensive, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Nothing I hate more than dipping my bread in olive oil and having it taste like vegetable oil because it’s a cheap brand. Our entrees arrived hot and in the perfect tempo of our dining experience. My friend had hand breaded butterflied shrimp on pommes frites which they call shoestring potatoes, and his wife had filet mignon cooked exactly to her liking. I enjoyed the Dover sole which was the special for that evening wrapped around asparagus and spinach in a nice cream sauce. I slowly enjoyed every single bite. We had coffee served in a French manner that look like a scientific experiment next to our table into big globes full of water and one full of grounds and the two contents swapped places. I still don’t get how that worked but the coffee with FRESH whipped cream in dainty little cups was a unique treat! Dessert was Crème Brulee for them and I had their famous deep fried bread pudding served atop vanilla ice cream. Tasted more like french toast. It was very good but I should have opted for the pumpkin cranberry tart as it sounded yummy. But how can you pass up something that is «famous»?

Although we had a reservation we had to wait about 20 minutes before being seated. Kind of a blessing in disguise because the bartender on this night was great. Her and my wife conversed a bit and out popped a martini that my wife loved and still talks about. Our waitress wasn’t bad but wasn’t as impressive as some of the other staff. The food here was killer though. We wasted no time going on a gluttonous binge. The mussels, the lobster bisque, the warm and soft croutons, my wife’s risotto, the big cut of prime rib… It was all top notch. Total bill after a few drinks and tip was a bit over $ 100. For the quality and quantity of the food we thought it was a real bargain. We’ll be back again soon!

It seemed as though there was a lot of fuss paid with the delivery of the food i.e., the cumbersome carts the waitress pushed and pulled around the restaurant making it very difficult for the servers to move throughout the room. The carts were unnecessary as were the presentations of the salads and waste of homemade salad dressings. The dressings were well made but could have been ordered on the side not requiring all three and two of which weren’t even touched but I’m sure thrown away. We had the scallops and lobster risotto and fillet. The fillet was not hot even though the waitress presented it once again on the cart using an unnecessary cast iron grill. It was also lacking in flavor. The lobster was missing and the risotto was sticky and lukewarm almost the consistency of paste. The scallops were tasty and seared perfectly. The French pressed coffee was a treat as was the chocolate dessert. The wine was a generous pour as well as the cocktail we had. The ambience was not what we expected and was somewhat loud as though we were in a bbque joint.

Everything was delicious. The lobster bisque is so rich and creamy. The endless salad was fresh and crisp. the homemade salad dressing was perfect. 2 of us had the fried lobster-OMG. Worth every cent. Wine was cold and you get a good pour for your money. We will be back

Great place in Loire. Stopped in for happy hour, and was treated to friendly service from Scarlet, great drinks and nice entertainment. Very laid back lounge for a drink and appetizer. Spent our first anniversary here and the staff was very accommodating. The chief came out to our table and prepared a wonderful desert for us. Best place to eat dinner, this side of the lake.

One of the best salads you will find and the most consistent food at the lake. Great service, good atmosphere. Lobster Risotto, onion rings, or fried lobster are always spot on. Not to mention a good selection of wine at a reasonable price.

The wine selection here made me very happy, featuring many Missouri wines like Hermanhof on their menu. We ordered the calamari, which was literally the best calamari I’ve ever had — it even beats the Caribbean calamari. The endless salad and garlic bread is served with your entrée, and comes with several preservative free house made dressings, and homemade garlic croutons which were just delicious. The baked lobster tail was my entrée, served with lemon and drawn butter. They kept it simple and classic, with healthy portions(You don’t leave here hungry!) My husband raved about the steak as well, which was super tender with the perfect horseradish sauce. We ordered after dinner tea, which was served in its own glass kettle, with a romantic candle warmer. The server handed us a box full of artisan teas to choose from, and even suggested we take an extra tea bag for home. We didn’t order the coffee, but we heard the service it is quite a fun show as well. After dinner, we enjoyed a drink in the bar which featured a contemporary pianist playing anything we requested. I literally have not one complaint about my dinner at JJs! The atmosphere is young, cozy and friendly, not stuffy or outdated like many comparable restaurants around the lake. The food is outstanding and untampered with, however it is the unique dinner service that is really charming, and sets these guys apart from other restaurants in Osage or Lake Ozark. In my opinion, this is the best fine dining at the lake. It is worth the drive to spend an entire evening at the Copperpot.

Have eaten at a lot of good restaurants at the lake over the many years we’ve been coming to the lake. Have to say that this was possibly the best meal we have ever eaten. I had the prime rib and fried lobster and my wife had the filet Oscar. Both meals were prepared perfectly. Also had two wonderful desserts. Fried bread pudding and decadent chocolate lava cake. Both had homemade vanilla ice cream. Couldn’t pass up the evaculator coffee at the table. Magnificent ! Wendy took excellent care of us ! You should ask for her. Thanks for an anniversary to remember.

I was pleasantly surprised by this spot. While it’s not fine dining, it offers a great wine list for Laurie and the beef and fried food is very good. I give is 4 stars because it was good for the area. Friendly staff and a nice selection for everyone!

Called at 4pm to make sure my wife and I didn’t need a reservation, was told 8pm was earliest time available bc of prom reservations, around 7pm they called back and said to come in they were ahead if schedule. Was seated about 5 mins after arrival. Ordered prime rib and jumbo gulf shrimp, loaded baked potato. Wife got same with no shrimp. Salad w/some nice dressings came shortly after and drinks were filled constantly but bc of the high crowds a hour did pass before we got our entrees. We had nothing to do so no complaining. All in all everything was excellent. Had nice piece of cheese cake, Almost $ 100 bill after tip tho.

I would have to say that my visit here was disappointing. I ordered the Trout, and the Vegetable of the day was carrots… I asked the waitress if I could get Grilled Asparagus instead, and she said«Yes, but there would be an up-charge», I said«fine». When the Asparagus came it was soggy and limp… lift it with your fork and it basically turned into an upside down«U». To add insult to injury, when the bill came, the«slight up-charge» was the full additional $ 4.95 price of a side order of Grilled Asparagus… so, basically, I paid for and didn’t get the carrots, and also got to pay for some dismal Grilled Asparagus. Add to this the fact that the Trout was overcooked and dry and I am left with the impression that this place is «fine dining» for folks who do not really know what constitutes«fine dining». Next time I am in the lake area, I will skip the«fine dining» and go instead to one of the many local Bar & Grill type places who have much more tasty food, prepared the way you would expect, and don’t have waitress staff who lie to you to get a bigger bill total. I do NOT recommend this place. Definitely NOT worth the price.

I would go there again for sure when we want a more gourmet experience while at the lake. Their homemade croutons and bread are wonderful. And the salad dressings are really to die for. We just completed our second dinner this summer at JJ’s. Overall we really enjoyed the food. The menu is sort of old fashioned, but seems consistently well prepared and tastes great. I say it is little old fashioned because we can’t get brown rice instead of white rice on some their best dishes. They have a great deal where you can share the entrée with your significnat other for about $ 8.00 and each person gets as much salad as they want and thier own side. Super deal! The ambience is OK, but it is a little crowded. Thought the caliber of the servers seems excellent and the people areall really friendly… the service is a little spotty. I’ve come to expect that at the LAKE, but I want more from JJ’s. I woiuld habve given them a 5 instead of 4 if the ambience and the service were up to snuff. Go there — you will enjoy the food, the greeters, and the servers.

Skimpy rationing of asparagus. They forgot our salad. The bathroom was NOT at all easy for my wife in a wheelchair. As a matter of fact several of us had to assist her into and out of the men’s restroom. The women’s could not accommodate a wheelchair at all. This was very disappointing since. we called in advance and were assured my wife’s need of a wheelchair would not pose a problem. Also the Unilocal app info indicated wheelchair accessible!

The best place at the lake is an understatement! My family has a condo at the Lake of the Ozarks and it is about a 45 minute drive, but it is WELL worth it! My mom and sister and I took a day trip with my 6 month old baby on a sunday, we got there right when they opened and the wait and bar staff were so friendly. All of the waitstaff were so attentive to my son, our waitress even asked if she could push him around the restaurant in his stroller! It was wonderful, he had been sick all weekend so he was still a little grumpy so every time we got one of our courses, our waitress(HEIDI, she was WONDERFUL!) would come and grab him and push him around, he loved it! Everytime she parked him back over with us he would look around for her. I’m sure this would not happen on a friday or saturday, but since we were her only table she was loving the baby attention, and so were we! The food was amazing, we had the fried lobster, my mom and I split it(a $ 9 split charge, well worth it for the extra side and salad) and it was more than enough. the homemade dressings were to die for. My sister had the scallops and they were also incredible. We then had the M&M cheesecake for dessert, the cooks rotate the flavor of cheesecake every so often, but it was to die for! Both owners had been cooks at the blue heron and you can tell, things are very similar, but I would dare to say JJ’s is better! A beautiful spot with great food and great service, as good as it gets!

One of the best fine dining restaurants at the lake! The Fried Lobster is the best, very large tail & tender! Also reasonably priced, around $ 40.00, which comes with an awesome family style salad, fresh baked bread & a side! We come here for special occasions just for the Lobster, the best I have ever had!
