Really love this place. The prices are reasonable. The employees are friendly. The food is warm. Overall great experience.

The food is good, but the portions are SOSTINGY. I really want to recommend it cause the food is good and the people there are friendly but GIMMEMOREFOODPLEASE. I don’t think I’ll go back because of that :-(. I’ll be at India Tandoori down the street that offers a daily buffet from 11am — 3pm, and you get endless champagne on the weekend. BBQ Tonite is across the street so I’m really disappointed. The do give you enough rice to eat for a whole week though lol

Excellent Place. Superb Food with Awesome treatment. I am regular to Bar BQ Tonite because of their specialty in Biryani… I tested most of the restaurant in LA area but my recommendation and ranking of Bar BQ Tonite’s Biryani is NO.1 . Me and my wife visit very often and we enjoy the food and treatment to the fullest… Even my office colleagues like it very much,… The best Biryani in Los Angeles… Bar BQ Tonite @ Lawndale

I used to love this place until the management change. The recipe’s they now use are different. The chicken tikka masala is too tomatoey and doesn’t seem to be cream based.

First time I have been here. Very authentic taste! One of the best in la. We tried bhindi masala, Bihari kabob and Siri paye and enjoyed each one of ‘em.

Went for lunch with co-workers. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry, some spinach with potatoes(don’t remember the name), plain rice, plain naan, and naan with grounded beef inside. The Chicken Tikka Masala sauce was awesome. The goat meat was tender. The naan was the best. Overall, the food was very tasty. We were satisfied with the food as well as their friendly customer service. The guy gave extra Chicken Tikamasala and another type of naan to try. We told the guy that we would definitely come back again;and tell other co-workers about this restaurant. Highly recommended! As I am writing this review, I am still full. I ate too much. ^_^

Being of Pakistani decent, I know my Pakistani food and this place is really good. First off, the place is clean and decent, not too many bells and whistles. The best thing on the menu is the boneless tandoori chicken, it is cooked perfectly – moist, juicy, and the perfect amount of spice. I have been there 3 times(twice for dinner, once for lunch), and the place has been consistent and the service pretty quick. I also recommend the Behari kabob and Nehari. The food is 5 stars, but the ambiance brings it down to 4.

Looking for some good indian/pakistani food on a rainy night. I wanted something spicy that will just hit the spot so we decided to try this place out for the first time. The place is clean but there was only one table occupied. Didn’t know if we should stay or go. We decided to stay and this was a good decision. Food was delicious. Mango Lassi – incredible! Haleem-Fresh, tasty, and perfect for a rainy night. Chicken Karahi — delicious! Barbq Plate — a little of everything, very nice! Naan — light and fluffy Definitely very nice. We had a delicious dinner and will definitely come back here again!

I was driving through the area at lunch and busted out my bat communicator with Unilocal app and it pointed me here. It has a most beautiful ambiance much like that of the Indian highlands — ok that’s not true. It has zero ambiance. I was skeptical and I bravely ordered the«lunch special.» You get 3 types of chicken — a spicy chicken stew type of food, tandori style chicken and pressed chicken meat kabob, some lentil type of dish, rice, naan bread, and a spicy yogurt. And you know what its pretty damn good and healthy(well the chicken kabob might not be). The kabob with the spicy yogurt was money — I would definitely recommend that. I would also recommend the employees tell you that you dip the kabob in the yogurt. I am a fine Caucasian gentleman and do not know the ins and outs of your fine culinary delicacies so a little education with the lunch special would be nice. But the staff is super friendly so I’m not dissing them just trying to help!

Located in the big corner mall, there is plenty of parking for this A rated small restaurant. About 8 quads and 2 big 8 person tables make plenty of seating for the average lunch and dinner crowd. The problem is the crowd or lack of it. I was the only customer for the time I was there. I was a bit alarmed, but I gotta take one for the team if it’s bad. I ordered the big BBQ plate because it has 3 of their BBQ meats. It’s $ 12 for this plate. I also ordered some rice and naan. This meal is enough for 2 people, so I was prepared for leftovers. The starter was a simple salad with a Pakistani type yogurt dressing. The salad was very fresh and the dressing had a nice spicy kick to it. I was delighted by this start and felt better about being the only customer. Maybe this could be better than I thought. The plates come out. The rice is simple with some herbs and spices. It has a nice flavor. Not too overpowering. The garlic naan was beautiful. Warm and just the right amount of chewyness. The meat comes out on a hot plate like fajitas. It’s sizzling and smoking up the room. Two kinds of chicken and a lamb kabob type meat. The lamb kabob was unique to me. I’ve never seen this kind of meat prepared this way. It looked like the meat was loosely grinded and formed into a meatloaf type concoction and put on the skewer for cooking. I’ll post a photo later. The meat wasn’t finely ground. It still had some resemblance of the grain of the meat. I have never seen meat prepared this way. It was seasoned good and tasted good. The chicken was also good. I didn’t find out the names of the meats, but maybe the photo will help you see what it was. The meal was very good from start to finish. A lot of leftovers. My bill was $ 18, but if this fed two people, that is a reasonable price for the amount of food I got. I hope this place does well.

Finally! A Pakistan-Indian restaurant in LA that’s clean and relatively well-decorated! Lots of open seating(great for big groups and families). During Ramadan they have iftar ready for all to eat every day — chanay, roohafzah, veggie samosas, and melon chaat. Lots to choose from on the menu with delicious meat dishes. There aren’t nearly enough veggie dishes, although there is a tofu masala! Staff is very friendly and courteous. Prices are fantastically low. I would definitely go again!

Any place this gives you complimentary dishes of their food to try out gets 5 stars in my book! I ordered a chicken dish(similar to tikki masala) and the owner brought out a complimentary side of the tikki for me to try out! He also gave me a free rice pudding. Hefty portions in their lunch specials and the food is very good. As strange as the place is when you first see it, they really do have excellent customer service. Check it out.

Okay, this isn’t the place to go if you’re looking for the fine dining ambiance. But hey, it’s clean and it’s freshly painted and it’s actually pretty darn well pulled together for what’s clearly a strip mall eatery. The seating is first-come-first serve. The menu is smallish — these guys clearly don’t offer anything up unless they feel that they can do an excellent job with the item. So there may be some Indian favorites that aren’t on the menu. But that’s okay… It’s amazing, amazing food. Portion sizes are generous, preparation is fantastic– this is just damn good Indian at a very reasonable price. I’ve been back several times at this point, so I’m happy to say that the consistency problem that can haunt Indian restaurants doesn’t seem to be problem. The service has been uniformly excellent and the waiter recommendations are spot on. Parking is easy and again, the food is just amazing.

The look from the outside isn’t much to be impressed by: a typical hole-in-the-wall stripmall eatery. The smell wafting through the door, however, was our first clue that this was going to be the amazing dining experience it turned out to be. The service was excellent. Our waiter was very solicitous of our needs and experience, and made an excellent suggestion for an appetizer. But the real bell on the cap was the food. My wife and I love indian food, and we eat at indian and pakistani restaurants all the time. We both agree, Bar BQ Tonite is one of the best we’ve ever been to, easily ranking up there with Bombay Café and Anarbaugh for flavor. The portion sizes were generous also, and the prices are extremely reasonable. All in all, we’ll be back many many times.

Went here 2 times later the food quality had dropped significantly .The Mutton was stale not going back here any more Four of my Colleagues went here for lunch we ordered Mutton Karahi, Kabob platter I have to the say the Best kabobs and the best mango Lassi in Southern California. Note all the stars are for the good food, if you are looking for ambience this is not the place.

Stopped here last night by chance to grab a bite before the lawndale fireworks show. The people were very friendly and the food was great. Of course I had to eat the Chicken Tikki Masala, my fav indian food. The place was clean and the atmosphere was nice. Will go back.
