What a great little hidden Gem! I was in town visiting my mom and needed a last minute cut, David worked me into his schedule and did his magic! I walked in with the tired mom hair, don’t care attitude and left feeling like a rockstar. He did some amazing layers and that gave my hair movement and volume ;) Best cut I’ve had in years! My new go to spot for sure!

I can’t say enough good things about David and his work! I came in for the first time the other day and he was able to totally cancel out the brassy highlights I got somewhere else, look at my roots and match me to my natural color, and cut my hair so that it looked healthy and full without losing the length. I didn’t think my hair could look so good considering the condition it was in, so he really works magic.
Not to mention, he is so nice! You can tell he’s a kind and genuine person when you talk to him, and exactly the kind of person you’d wanna give your business to.
Will be back for sure!

Was very rude when I called to ask about the price of a haircut. Decided to take my business elsewhere because of it.

I had been looking for a reasonably priced salon to fix my orange mess of hair and came across DTL on Unilocal.I considered going elsewhere after reading a bad review, but decided to take the risk after going through DTL’s photos on Unilocal and Instagram. Found a gem today! Lovely salon with a talented artist who was able to transform my hair with a same day appointment. David is a miracle worker who was able to create the exact look I wanted down to the perfect color fix. Highly recommend this salon!

I been really busy lately and havent been able to get around writting a review but, let me tell you i went a month ago for a hair cut with David, and he definitely came through ! My hair was cut beautifully into long layers and blendes really nice ! Not only was he kind enough to book me literally LAST MIN, but also madee feel super comfortable as a new Client! The best hair salon!!! When I say the best I mean the BEST!!! Ive been searching for a good salon for so long until I came across DTL! Talked to David and told him everything I needed and he LISTENED! Did exactly what I wanted plus more!!! I was going through the reviews and came across a bad comment saying she didnt get what she wanted, well she didnt let david do her hair! Guys ask for David, hes a pro and will not let you leave until your satisfied!!! Thanks David at DTL for great service, I will definitely come back!

I have been coming to David for over 18 years he is the only one that can cut my hair. I’ve been to other salons and they always mess me up. But when I come to David I don’t have to worry at all. He always gets right. I recommend the salon to everyone and I also love that hairy little dog walking around I love to come here. The salon is always very clear lifetime customers thank you DTL.

I m a French girl working in LA from time to time. I was looking for a hairdresser able to cover my grey roots and take care of my super dry hair! Finally I found it!
David is a great professional, thanks to him, I have a fantastic natural and super bright brunette color, my hair look super healthy and he adjust my haircut perfectly! Plus, he is really kind and works fast;)

I absolutely loved this place. I’ve known of David for quiet sometime now from a previous salon, I always saw him doing what he does best but never had the pleasure of him doing my hair up until this past week. I went in for a whole new look, short and lighter. I was really nervous about it but knew I wanted this change so bad so we did it! It came out sooo good, I’m very pleased with his work and so happy I came to him. Place was so nice and tranquil, love the décor and cleanliness. Found this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try and it’s the best decision I’ve done! I came in with brown & burgundy hair, David was able to get me to a beautiful blond! Definitely recommend going to him. I’m extremely happy with the results he defiantly goes the extra mile to make sure you look good! :)

I absolutely love my haircut today! David knew exactly what to do with my hair. I asked for a cut and some layers and he worked his magic. I am so happy with the results. :) Nice welcoming environment… especially when you have his adorable dog come and greet you. Can’t wait to come back!

Best salon HANDS DOWN! David did such an amazing job with my hair, he brought it back to life!!! The salon is awesome, everyone is so kind and welcoming and the music they play is bomb!

I’ve lived in Cali for 7 years now and haven’t found a salon I like and I think I have found my spot!!!
I came here this morning with an appointment at 10am with David. David was running late but Jessica and Lily were so outgoing and fun to chat with while I waited for him. After a few minutes Jessica had me sit down and she started working on my cut. David showed up just in time help figure out color and put Lily on my ombré. They showed me pictures of another girl who had dark hair like mine and told me they would do a similar coloring.
David had a few finishing touches on my hair before Lily did a fantastic job on my blow out and some quick curls!
They told me before I even started they won’t let you leave the salon until you love you hair. The three of them make an excellent team. I felt so comfortable and really had a fun time while leaving feeling like a million bucks!
I’ll post some before and after pictures later because I am a different person from this morning!
Also, they definitely offered me margaritas multiple times. Haha next time I’ll be back in the afternoon to take advantage!

DTL Hair Salon is located in a nondescript building in the streets of Lawndale. Yet the interior was so artfully decorated. The quality of work is what you can expect from a high priced salon in Beverly Hills without any exaggeration!
Highlights for dark hair is a challenging feat. I have first hand knowledge of multiple times when an experienced hair dresser botched the work.
David did it with perfect execution. It wasn’t a hit or miss guesswork of placing me under the dryer and having me repeatedly go back under the dryer because the color wasn’t developing. What’s more surprising is his talent of cutting hair in addition to his color mastery. For years, I went to one hair dresser to get color and someone across town for hair cut. I finally found someone who excels in both.
