I LOVE this store! I drive to Lawrence just to go to this store! If your ever in Lawrence its a must! I promise you won’t regret! Product is fresh, tastes amazing, and the service is great! Very friendly staff, and clean shop. Don’t let these uneducated interior decorators keep you from a truly AMAZING experience! ;)

Grubby looking retail shop (grimy industrial carpeting, ancient drop ceiling with a variety of mismatched flickering and buzzing fluorescent bulbs, fake plants all over the place, generally dusty and dirty looking as well as weirdly sticky all over) with flavoring-​added (not infused) products. Much of which taste pretty artificial. You can probably do this better yourself with bog standard olive oil and balsamic and a selection of flavoring agents from a decent cookery shop like Williams Sonoma. Oddly sullen employees who seem miserable. Fake ivy stuck to the walls etc. The times I’ve been in I always walk out feeling like I need to shake off a bad vibe, definitely a combination of the grim environment, Jacob’s Ladder fluorescent bulbs, and the weird attitude of the people who work there. Nothing about it feels like a professional retail establishment, and I’ve never bought there. I didn’t criticize or warn people off who wanted to go in and buy, but I wouldn’t ingest anything that came out of a shop that dirty looking unless it was literally in Tunisia or something. Further evidence IMO of the lack of professionalism are the manager’s responses to these reviews, I suppose I’ll be getting one that says many customers love the shop and compliment the shop and the shop is super perfect. This store is truly a fine Gem in the Midwest!!! If you are in Lawrence or KC area I highly recommend you visit and enjoying a tasting experience that makes buying products so enjoyable.
The staff that helped me was so patient while explaining and making recommendations during my tasting experience. Also, each product has a label posted which thoroughly explains the product in detail. Everyone was so kind and friendly. They make sure you go away pleased with your decision.
The vast variety of Balsamic Vinegar this store has to pair with the Extra Virgin Olive Oil are simply fantastic! Actually, better than some I have had in 4 to 5 star restaurants. :)
Personally, I enjoy Extra Virgin Olive Oil for the wonderful taste and outstanding health benefits. Its the best investment for ones diet, plus makes everything you cook so much tastier.
I continue to order online when I am not in the area!
Love, Love, Love this shop. Makes for wonderful gifts as well. Presentation and Bottles are lovely. You just don’t get this quality of product and service in Retail that much these days so when you do it just such a satisfying experience.

I do not recommend. Purchased 3 small gift bottles, 2 of which were prepared and sealed in front of me in a not very sanitary manner. Decided against giving them as gifts and stored them. 4 months later some sort of botulism strains in the bottles. Called to see about the issue and was told by the manager it was olive sediment. No,…this is not sediment. I have purchased oils from other stores before and never seen this kind of cloudiness. Apparently they accept used bottles back to be re-​washed and re-​used. Either the bottles weren’t sterilized or the «manager» who sealed 2 of the 3 bottles purchased wasn not concerned about food safety protocols. The conversation on the phone was pointless and he basically argued about how it was the olive sediment and that because olive oil has antibacterial and anti fungal properties it could not be bacteria. Just because it has those properties does not mean the conditions weren’t right in the non-​sanitized bottle. I was going to drive to Lawrence to return these but after how I was treated on the phone it is not worth the stress. Check the photos I posted unless they are removed and remember these were UNopened. What a waste of money. You should value your customers safety more than that.

Excellent Balsamic Vinegar!!! Not sure on Olive Oils — my husband loved them, but I prefer to taste with a slice of bread — and that didn’t arrive until after we purchased some bottles of vinegar. I have never been a real big fan of vinegar — but these made me change my mind! The lady there was very nice and knowledgeable. She helped us throughout the store and gave us some shipping information as well. We would love to go back the next time we make it out to Lawrence!

Good product. Bad service. I’ve been in there a few times. Sometimes they don’t even acknowledge your presence. When they have, it seems like they don’t really care whether you buy anything or not.
My husband and I are avid cooks and enjoy using good quality oils and vinegars. But the service we’ve received here has prompted us to go to another olive oil store in downtown OP, even though we live in Lawrence.

Fantastic Variety and selection. Wonderful service. Who knew olive oil could be so much fun? Really pleased.
