Fries were sitting under a headlamp all day probably. Really chewy. One of the pieces of chicken was extremely burnt and dry. I also ordered red beans and rice and did not realize it wasn’t there until I had gotten to my hotel room. I wasn’t getting back out. Employees had friends at the counter chatting about what’s going on this weekend instead of taking my order. The only good about this visit was the sweet tea and the biscuit.

Just got an 8 piece chicken and the shrimp thing from here! Everything was good until about half an hour after I ate it. My whole family ate some and we are all sick to our stomach I went thru at bottle of Pepto-Bismol and 2 rolls of toilet paper already! I’m pretty sure we all have food poisoning! I would definitely not go here ever again nor recommend it to anybody! Ever! Service wasn’t that great either. They forgot half my order and then wen I went back they made me park on the side for 20 minutes till some lady brought out my food! Did I also mention they made it spicy when I specifically asked for mild! STAYAWAYFROMTHISDUMP!

It’s hard for me to say anything bad about fried chicken so I’ll give it 3 stars. To be honest, I like the fried chicken skin more than the chicken itself. Service here is ghetto just like every other joint in this dump. 11 piece deal going on for $ 10.99 I think. Not a bad deal. This Popeyes is right off of Rockaway Blvd, not too far from JFK cargo buildings. It’s probably 2 – 3 miles away or less. There are a few other Popeyes in this area but I prefer coming to this one because this one is actually open! The one on Guy Brewer been closed forever and it’s the biggest one in town too, the other Popeyes on Rockaway Blvd is small and okay but the parking over there sucks! Verdict — If you’re in the ghetto or work in one of the million freight forwarding companies that are near JFK and hungry for some cheap fried chicken on Rockaway Blvd, this is a safe spot. All of the the breakfast/lunch time deli’s that are open in the air cargo area suck. If fried chicken wasn’t so unhealthy, I think I would eat it almost every single day. That stuff is crack.

I too am a Popeye’s fan, the food isn’t seasoned well and the service isn’t very polite. While my order was being prepared, I went to get my drink, when I came back the girl just shoved it at me and said«here» and went back to her register. It was not busy. Just a rude girl.

I’ve been here several times and when the place just opened, it was much better. Just lately I went there for their $ 3.99 three piece tenders. They ran out of tenders(lol?). Ok, so I get nuggets. Ask for sweet and sour sauce, «they don’t make them anymore». Asked for BBQ sauce, they don’t have any. Then I waited over five minutes when I was in a rush because no nuggets were even ready. All this would never happen at a different Popeyes. The nuggets were decent though so I left 2 stars instead of 1.

the food is too salty. When getting takeout the good doesn’t stay hot meaning that they aren’t keeping it pipping hot at the restaurant.

I am a fan of Popeyes chicken and always choose their chicken over KFC without giving it a second thought… until now. I visited this place, which has been opened for only a few months with great optimism. Finally a Popeyes in reach for the five towns folks. Not really. This place has to be the worst Popeyes I have EVER been to. The chicken here for some reason is badly seasoned, tastes extremely salty and leaves one with an unappetizing experience. In addition, I have had the workers pretty much rip me off when buying chicken box meals where they’ll throw in a bunch of tiny chicken wings into the box that fills less than half the box and call it an 11 piece. The manager was suppose to contact me regarding an issue/bad experience our family had there but no one bothered to call and rectify the matter. Sloppy workers, and lack of professionalism from the managerial staff here. Will never be going to this joint again. Your money is better spent at KFC, Kennedys or anywhere else for fried chicken.
