Good bar. Bring back $ 0.35 wings! Or I’m not coming back. For real. The best wings in Lawrence. No ones are better. People are just too lazy to drive to the edge of town. ITSWORTHIT.

Great appetizers. That’s why 3 stars. You come in, find a seat, call waiter, order a ribeye with fries on the side, try ketchup, the best in town.

Worst service ever. We walked out after one and a half hours with no food and no explanation. Avoid this place or go soon before they are out of business.

6 mile is one of our go to brunch spots, they have bottomless mimosas on Saturdays for $ 15! Very friendly wait staff & the atmosphere is nice. I often get the salmon BLT, it’s really tasty. The prices are also pretty decent. Definitely recommend you give this place a try!

We ate Sunday brunch here with 2 other couples(6 people total). Prices were reasonable, and the food was good. The service turned out to be their Achilles Heel. 3 of the orders were incorrect, but were corrected. When we were given our checks, all 3 checks had errors. Waiter took them to make corrections, returned and they were still incorrect. When he returned for the 3rd time with our checks, the manager was with him. The checks were still incorrect. Ultimately, the manager returned and told us all of our meals were going to be complimentary and wished us a good day. We never saw the server again. The total amount of time spent on getting the checks corrected was 30 minutes. Even though we are local residents, I doubt that we will return.

I love the location here. I can do casual at the six mile side or dress it up for date night on the chop house side. I love there Mac n Cheese and they have great asparagus. But the Chocolate Box is the amazing.

So good! The expanded space is lovely and inviting. Great menu and good wine list. The salmon was yummy and the prime rib was, too. Generously-poured cocktail. And Nathan is an awesome server. See you again soon!

Love this place. Great beer selection. Great patio and they even let us have our dog on the patio. You must try the cheese tray so good and fresh.

The food is usually pretty good and the servers friendly and helpful. They also have a great menu offering and reasonably priced burger add ons. It’s a clutch weekend brunch spot with their deals on bottomless mimosas(with flavors) and Bloody Mary bar.

I recently visited Six Mile Tavern for dinner and was very pleasantly surprised! Dining on a weeknight, the bar and restaurant were not crowded. We were seated right away in a nice booth and received good service from the hostesses as well as our waitress. As a table we ordered a hamburger, a french dip sandwich, as well as a steak. Everyone was very pleased with their meals and thought the food was excellent. I thought the sweet potato fries were especially delicious. The round of cocktails we ordered were pretty good. Overall, I would go back to Six Mile next time I am in town.

Uhhhh… this place needs to do something quick or its over… it’s hard to figure out where to start, so let’s start with what they did right. They got us seated without incident. Now, for what they got wrong… which was virtually everything with regard to what we ordered. The appetizers arrived and because there was 10 of us we had orders of the calamari, spinach and artichoke dip and nachos. The calamari was over-cooked and was done in grease way past its prime. Spinach and artichoke dip was good, no problems there. Nachos were killed in the window. A foreshadowing of things to come. As the appetizer plates were being removed the server took our orders. We started with the dinner salad and it arrived in a timely manner but looked like something you would put together at the salad bar at HyVee or straight from the bag(which in hindsight would have been more crisp). Sliced cherry tomatoes, grated cheddar cheese and boxed croutons on wilty spring mix and a small ramekin of bottled Lemon-poppyseed dressing. Where is the forethought to do something seasonal? As if that weren’t bad enough, I ate it. As I was nearing the end of that disaster, everyone else’s entrée were being delivered bringing about a mercy killing for the salad. We ordered the 18oz T-bone medium rare+ topped with their horseradish encrusted option and a side of grilled asparagus with the intention of sharing. The steak arrived, mounded with a panko/horseradish crust and it was pleasant enough to to look at. However, that’s was the only appealing quality of this continuing exercise in culinary failure. What was to be on the rare side of med-rare was delivered as medium, not to mention this was done to what(in my opinion) was USDA Choice. It had all the earmarks including but not limited to a nice tough vein and zero marbling. The supposed horseradish-encrusted topping was all panko… try adding horseradish next time. Furthermore, it was completely devoid of seasoning. Shit! Montréal Steak seasoning could have saved this if it weren’t for the fact that they didn’t even have that in their arsenal of bad ideas. Now to the asparagus. Grilled? No grill marks. No salt. Tasteless. It’s the least of their worries. Moving on to the dessert… or should we say desert? My girlfriend ordered the chocolate cake. A six layer slice that was so dry it split in half to look what appeared to be two slices of cake. In their attempt to be «grand» with their portion, they fell short in their execution. Do it right or don’t do it at all. My cheesecake appeared to be something that was dropped off with the meat order and thawed for me and included«sweat» which indicated that it was indeed frozen at one time. No heft in the slice either. Atmosphere is a clash of sports bar meets steakhouse. Service was adequate but my girlfriends half eaten dinner salad sat as a center piece for the entire dinner and served as a sad reminder of what was supposed to be a great experience. I hope that the owners do something about this lack of attention to detail and imagination. Whoever compared this place to Morton’s or the Palm has been to neither. One star at best tonight.

Took my mom here for a nice lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I had a great steak she had the philly sandwich and she was raving about how good and tender it was. Sometimes elderly people are hard to please so I was ecstatic that this place made her happy. Our server was spot on. There when we needed him and not there when we didn’t. I would go back every time I visit Kansas.

This place has become a local haunt for me and a few friends. It’s the same menu as the Chop House(which means, I believe, the same prices, which is kind of odd). But, everything I’ve gotten here has been great. The service is friendly and usually pretty attentive, even when it’s super busy. Best chicken wings in Lawrence(not a particularly high bar, TBH, but still)…though, be warned about the spiciness… I’ve won spicy food contests before(true) but these made me sweat more than a little. Mac & cheese is awesome. Burgers are okay, but I recommend almost anything else on the menu. The drinks are pretty good and prices(particularly at Happy Hour) are awesome. While it is a little loud here, especially if a game is on, it’s still hang-outable and volume is usually kept at a volume that’s just this side of okay to have a conversation. Sad though this may sound, it’s a place I feel completely okay eating alone… there are many bars and restaurants in town that are not, but sometimes, you just need to eat chicken wings by yourself.

Can I give this zero stars? This place certainly has the«fine dining» price, without service or food quality to match. A brief recap of our Sunday evening birthday celebration –7 adults, all ordered cocktails, server forgot my husband’s glass of wine when she brought out all the cocktails –Bottle of wine purchased(white) — their idea of «wine presentation» is to open it, pick up your glass, fill it while holding it and set it down. Absolutely zero wine presentation. –We brought in a bottle of wine(red) and asked for it to be decanted and glasses brought for the table. The server(Shelby) brought out wine glasses for everyone except the girls who were drinking white wine. We asked for glasses for them, she said«They have glasses.» Correct, but for WHITE wine, not the RED wine –We ordered 3 orders of $ 11 crab cakes for the table, first bite of one order had a quarter-sized piece of plastic in it –Wedge salad ordered with avocado, delivered without, server didn’t even notice –Restaurant was out of prime rib and oysters –I ordered trout($ 21). 20 minutes after our dinner order had been back, someone(not the server) came out and said«We are out of trout, can I get you salmon or something else? I selected salmon($ 25). When our bill came out, I was charged $ 25 for the salmon I was forced into ordering, which came out rare in the center. I attribute this to the other dinner orders already being fired and mine being fired late but still coming out at the same time as the rest of the entrees. –2nd bottle of wine ordered, server couldn’t get the cork out of this one. Again, zero wine presentation. –Long, blonde hair on a loaded baked potato(all female diners had dark hair). Happened to the same girl who got plastic in her crab cake. She asked for another loaded baked potato, was told the kitchen was out and that she could have loaded mashed instead. Bill came out and she was upcharged $ 4 for the replacement offered to her by the restaurant for her hair-ridden baked potato. Loaded mashed took forever and came out after half her steak was eaten. –When she recieved the bill, she mentioned about being upcharged for the loaded mashed and also still being charged for the appetizer. Their answer? Taking a lousy $ 2 off the bill. –Our party spent well over $ 350 and had quite possibly the worst experience, ever. I emailed the restaurant about this over a week ago to give them the benefit of the doubt and I never heard anything back. Steer clear, unless you like paying fine dining prices and recieving foregin objects in your food.

My husband and I have dined here several times and found it pricey in light of what you get. Last night I had the french dip sandwich and he had a burger and fries. The fries were cooked in old oil, soggy, and way too salty. My sandwich was on mediocre bread and not worth the $ 13. The appetizer bread was very good as was the service. The atmosphere was good… quiet, no TV’s in your face, dark but the table is well-lit enough to read the menu and see you food. I’m sure we’ll be back but it’s not on my short list.

High quality steaks, reasonable prices, approachable and friendly staff. Manager Ryan sat down and had a conversation with me for a bit cool guy. Fries weren’t fresh when I got my appetizers so 4 stars. Everything else was amazing.

Steaks are excellent(especially the prime rib) but a touch on the pricey side. Sides are a la carte. If you enjoy lamb I would also recommend it as well. On the bar side they run a special on Tuesdays, $ 25.00 for a T-bone steak with a potato and salad as a side. Otherwise the best sides in my opinion are the Lobster Mac and the Whipped Cauliflower, both of which you must try. Looking for a lighter dish? Try either the Prime Rib Sliders or Chicken salad pita. Sunday brunch is very good; try the Crab Cake Benedict. Sunday’s also offer an elaborate Bloody Mary bar and burger specials all day. If you order the cinnamon roll be prepared, it can easily feed 3 – 4 people. Pancakes are mediocre. The wait staff is very courteous and helpful. Bar tenders are also great and are able to make some great and unique cocktails. The head bartender is well versed in Scotch and able to help your selection.

Tavern menu is pretty extensive(even lobster Po Boy) we had .35 wings and prime rib sliders. Mood is laid back and lighting is dark but service is good and quality of food is above average. Couldn’t give up the 5th star due to higher prices but all in all good experience.

Nice break from the usual but not a highlight of culinary Lawrence. Steaks overpriced and ala carte. Over infused with smoke. Better, cheaper steaks around town. Calamari was perfectly cooked(tender and crispy). Would go back for this alone(but not the steak). Non-steak entrees around $ 20, fair mix of fish and pasta. Good selection of entrée salads; dinner caesar was adequate. Asparagus was grilled and suffered the same over-smoky taste as the steak.

The Six Mile Chop House restaurant is attached to the Six Mile Tavern bar, and both are managed by the same people. As the name suggests, the restaurant specializes in steaks and chops, but is not limited to them. They have pastas, seafood, chicken, and salads. As with some of the best steak chains, everything is strictly a la carte, in the sense that the entrees do not include vegetables. But the vegetable sides are excellent, very fresh, and organic. The atmosphere of the dining room is excellent, dimly lit, with many comfortable booths, and the service is very good. If you are not careful, you could end up with sticker shock, when the bill arrives. But it also is possible to have a moderately priced meal here. For example, if you are there on a Wednesday, all of the house wines are $ 3 a glass. If you are there before 6 pm, it can pay to ask if there are any happy hour specials. The soups and salads are moderately priced, including the large dinner size salads. The seafood arrives three times a week, fresh, never frozen, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The grilled oysters appetizer are really outstanding. The beer braised mussels appetizer were very good, but oddly the baguettes that came with them were stale. The bread comes in only twice a week. That needs improvement. They have a separate kids menu, which is moderately priced and includes one side. The Six Mile Chop House is a welcome addition to west Lawrence. We’ll be back for sure.
