We ordered three appetizers and the burger and enjoyed half the meal the sausage was extremely dry, Crabcakes were good, but nothing was better than having the delicious fried oysters app thats the winner! Nice wine list. Not as good as local republic but worth adding to your list.

We used to go here quite a bit and loved the service, the food and the staff. Very high end food and service for this area of Gwinnett. One star-here’s why. Apparently last week the owners shut the place down, gave the staff one days notice and moved out the next day without any advance warning. We know one of the servers there and they were completely shocked. If they were closing they had to know it in advance and they should have had the decency to let the staff know. That’s just wrong. We found out when we were set to meet a group of friends there on Saturday night and the place was locked up.

It isn’t perfect but it is pretty dang good. My mother and I have been here a few times and never had a bad experience. Today(a Sunday evening), we stopped in for dinner. We had a bowl of the she-crab soup — tasty but lukewarm. Mom had the shrimp — she said it was excellent. I had the pork tenderloin with garlic mashed potatoes — the potatoes were really good, pork was cooked perfectly but was a little underseasoned. For dessert, we had rosemary crème brûlée — I was a little iffy about the idea of the rosemary, but it was really good and not overwhelming. It’s not cheap but it’s really not too pricey — for all of the above plus a glass of chardonnay and a pilsner, the check was about $ 67. Not bad. Service was good, our waitress was efficient and friendly, although she did manage to describe the special in an especially unappealing way — blackened mahi mahi with«a corn chowder sort of chutney»? Ew. Anyway, minor detail. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back.

We will be coming back. Everything was great! The atmosphere is modern and inviting. The staff was excellent and knowledgable on the specials. We tried the Portobella Fries with a garlic aioli. They were better than expected for fried mushrooms, not too watery. The garlic aioli was excellent. For dinner we had the Duck that came with grits and we ordered a side of Bacon Brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious. As we were finishing up the waitress told us about their desserts and we were intrigued. So we tried the Blueberry and waffle bread pudding, OMG!!! That was the most amazing bread pudding I’ve ever tasted, mind blown! Like I said before we will definitely return. An amazing find so far outside of the perimeter.

We’ve been to Georgia Pine twice and both times were great experiences. The service is a little slow both times but the food was worth the wait. The atmosphere is a little cold with high ceilings and could be a little more cozy for a nicer restaurant. The bar area is really cool and very unique, for Lawrenceville anyway! Get the deviled eggs for an appetizer because they are the best I’ve ever had. Overall I’d give them two thumbs up. Knowing it’s owned by the same folks as our favorite local restaurant Local Republic doesn’t hurt either!

Love the food! Always fresh and seasoned to perfection! It might sound plain-Jane, but the roasted chicken dish is superb and sits upon a mountain of grilled okra! It can’t be said enough that the deviled eggs are to die for and if you don’t mind the southern style of cooking vegetables in bacon drippings, you’ve gotta try the bacon brussels! The wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable and can always recommend a nice wine or beer to pair with your meal. Ambience is nice with somewhat of an urban feel to it. The restaurant can get cold, so ladies who get chilled easily should bring a light sweater. Outdoor seating is available and seems pretty popular, but the first and last time we sat outside we spent a good amount of time swatting at mosquitoes and wasps. No harm done, but we now dine inside to avoid the seasonal pesky pests. All in all, Georgia Pine is definitely one of the better restaurants in the Lawrenceville area!

It was okay. The food is great if you don’t mind heavy carbs and for a cheat day this place is really good. It will fatten you up! However, I much prefer a gourmet restaurant that doesn’t flash-fry their Brussels Sprouts in bacon grease. Give me grilled asparagus and steamed broccoli to go with my lamb rack anyway, without chili powder and Dijon mustard of course. And if you are in a hurry, do not come here. It is a slow-burner just to wait for the excessive check!

My fiancé and I went Sunday before last for an impromptu dinner date. We were going to to go to our favorite restaurant Local Republic, but decided to give this place a shot since it’s owned by the same people. I must say, we were very disappointed. The Oyster Elizabeth was delicious and the best thing we experienced all night. Otherwise, our experience was a disaster. For having such an incredible looking bar, they had no grapefruit juice and had already ran out of two of the beers on the draft list when we arrived at 7PM. Our waiter, while very nice, was not very good. He didn’t know the components of the dinner entrees(i.e. what the ‘dang good’ sauce on the trout was, that the oysters had pork, etc.) and delivered inedible food to our table. His burger was overcooked, my sauce on the trout was broken and overly salted. I ended up ordering a chicken to go as his food was already cold when it arrived to the table. We won’t be returning.

Excellent food and pretty cool atmosphere. Been here twice and had very good food both times. The burger is one of the better burgers you can get in the area! Great selection of local beer as well! Our wait wasn’t long but i do recommend making reservations for your dinner. Go and check it out!

The place was cute. The ambience was great. My friend and I talked for hours. I had Reuben sandwich with island sauce and kraut on rye bread. They usually come with GP chips, I add mashed potatoes instead. The mashed potatoes were awesome. The biggest problem that annoyed me was the waitress. She was nice, but we felt she was trying to rush out.

Food was a little pricey but the lamb was cooked perfect. My wife had the chicken breast that was grilled with just the right seasonings. We will be returning again

Hit up this place in time for brunch. The service was good and prompt, and the food was terrific. My daughter(the picky one) got the shrimp etouffé and my son got a Reuben. Both were satisfied and my son even ordered the collards instead of chips. How can you go wrong with a place where the kids ask for the veg? I’ve reviewed this place before, and it never fails to deliver. Nothing’s changed, which is a good thing.

We had high expectations considering The Local Republic is our favorite restaurant. The ambience is nice even if a little on the sterile side. I was very surprised there was no wait on a Saturday night. We were seated right away. The sausage, pepper and onion appetizer was delicious and not greasy at all and were a great size for sharing. They had a nice selection of craft beers and wine. I had the chicken with bacon brussel sprouts. The brussels were delicious with lots of tasty bacon although it could have used some acidity like lemon to cut the oiliness. The chicken was ok. I was expecting a nice seared crispy skin and lots of flavor but it was just ok. It was still better than most local restaurants and cooked well. My husband got the tofu burger and he said it was great. The GP chips were a little on the brown side but still good. They accommodated our gluten free needs including my daughter by making grilled chicken tenders. We will definitely be back. Everything is made fresh in house which is a rare find in this area.

Summary — Come try the deviled eggs. Do not get the bacon brussels. When reviewing this place, I had to remind myself that I am rating the restaurant as a whole instead of specific pieces, but all in all it was just okay. Decomposed review: Service — 5 stars. Katya is an awesome server! Very friendly and easy to talk to with lots of recommendations and tips. Deviled eggs — YUM! 5STARS. Definitely recommend everyone try these. My friend and I ordered the fried chicken burger. I wasn’t impressed. The breading part seemed to lack flavor. The chicken inside tasted okay though, but just okay. Didn’t impress me at all. The pickles were good. The onions, tomatoes, and lettuce were fine. The bread was fine, plain, but not memorable. With it, we ordered the bacon brussels. Please do not even try this. It was not good at all. You can’t taste the bacon at all and there is way too much oil and not any flavor. My friend and I did not enjoy this. I do want to come back and try some other items though based on the reviews of this place and I want to try their brunch menu.

I am at a lose here. Yeah I know GP is a dinner hangout, but the are also open for lunch. Today my wife and I stopped by Sprouts and Barnes and Nobel. Heading over to GP I passed a crowded Chili’s, Red Robin, and Ted’s. Enter GP and empty except for a few tables. Folks, this place is excellent. Many fare home made. Craft Beer, good wine selection, full bar, and equal to or not that much higher in cost than the surrounding«chains«. Keep mission out! I’m not!

I’m giving this an ok since it’s good for where it’s at, but as far as competing with other restaurants in this same price point in the city, it is mediocre at best. Had this been in Atlanta proper I would have given it a meh. Service started off perfect, but quickly fell off once the waiter got more tables. By the end we were ignored for 15 minutes after we asked for a dessert menu. When he showed back up, without the menu, we asked for the check. Another long wait before he came back. Just sad. They need to learn how to work tables appropriately. The deviled eggs were a solid choice. I would probably order them again though $ 7 is crazy steep for 2 whole eggs with some mayo and a tit bit of smoked salmon mixed up with the yolk. The clams were good, but for $ 10 there were way too few in the bowl. The portobello fries were delicious… meaty and crispy. The trout was crispy, but much too greasy. I love okra, but the grilled okra could have been left on the grill a bit longer. The mashed potatoes off the rib-eye plate were good. The rabbit was just ok, not all that flavorful. To sum this up: next time I was in the area and wanted to have a nicer meal, I would just head over to bonefish. I hate that it’s corporate, but sometimes you gotta do it(especially in the dreaded ‘burbs). Or I’d just say screw a nice meal and get some tasty tacos from an authentic taqueria in L’ville…there are plenty of them.
