First off, service was phenomenal. Great staff welcomed us and helped with our dinner selections. Second, food was genuinely good. I had a bison burger cooked perfectly and my friend had the buffalo sheppards pie. We would definitely recommend this place!

The wife and I have been here several times for Lunch and Dinner over the years. The food is really good but the service has been pour to bad more time than not. We really do like the food I guess that’s way we keep going back.

Went there today, this was probably my 10th time at this location. The food was amazing. I has the Salmon that was cooked perfectly. Topped off with a couple IPA’s. Management was extremely friendly and willing to lend a helping hand to the wait staff that was also great! «John» was a new server however did a great job. This particular location hands down is the best of the three!

One of our favorite spots! The food is always good, the recommendations from the staff are always spot on, and the people are always super nice. They are accommodating for our 2 year old twins, and from our first visit, we felt«at home».

Came here for lunch and was disappointed to find Gravlox gone from the menu. It was one of the primary reasons to eat here. Still, this is one of the better places to eat around here. The people are on top of their game, service is quick and very friendly. The food is good and prepared well. The Wagyu Steak is perfectly tender. The preparation of the Lamb Shank is right on the mark.

Dinner was pretty good, so was the service. I don’t have crazy high standards so I don’t need a lot to enjoy dinner then came desert. We asked for the bread and butter pudding to go. We finally arrive home to find a hunk of pudding — cold, no ice cream no kind of sauce. Really not worth the full price I paid for the desert. I called over to the restaurant to ask if this was normal and was told it was and that ice cream was not something included in the desert anyway but I can come get a new one if I wanted? Well after putting on my Pj’s I didn’t feel like driving all the way back to get what I thought I had paid for. I told the man on the phone this would really effect my decision to return — ok have a good night. Wow. Rude !! Now I will definitely be taking my business else where.

The bartender was knowledgeable about their beers. I enjoyed both of her recommendations, especially the oatmeal stout. It was rather slow on the bar side of the restaurant — I think there were six people total at 7pm. Enjoyed the shepherd’s pie. Perhaps, as many others have commented, it could use a little more meat. The potatoes on top were tasty though. I’d probably come back again, especially if that super-hot bartender is working.

Living in Davis County can be pretty dry, luckily we have Maccools. They have the best beer selection in the area by far, and the food is pretty good too. Get to know the waiters and Mike the manager, and you’ll always be treated well. Even if you consider yourself to be a beer aficionado, be sure and ask your waiter or waitress for their opinions. They are all very knowledgeable and have introduced me to a lot of new flavors in the world of beer. The Brewer Nights are great too, they’ll sell tickets to dine on a four/five course meal paired with beer tastings served by local brewers, it’s a great time to try new beer and meet new people!

HUGE fan of this place. I love Pubs and Irish food and this place just has a nice family feel and consistently great food. My favorites are the roasted pork loin, classic shepherds pie, and I get mussels every time I come in. They really do know how to do Irish food. There are a couple of menu items that I’m not fond of. First is the finn skins. I know people are crazy about these, but they are just too heavy for an appetizer and when I got them they were really crispy and over-cooked. Over-cooked potato has a very distinct taste that I DONOT like so I wont be ordering those again. Second would be the corned beef and cabbage. It was a little bland and the corned beef was though. I’ve been spoiled by my mother my whole life because she cooks PERFECT corned beef and cabbage so I may never experience a dish that compares outside of my home, but there are other dishes here to die for! The mashers are always perfect, the waiters are super friendly, and this is a great place to go for a chill quiet dinner.

So glad a co-worker recommended this place while I was visiting the area for business. I am a little surprised to see the negative comments about the service though. I have only been in 4 times over the past year, but had excellent service with each visit. We did sit in the bar on a couple of the visits and yes… the service was a little slower, but that is common with seating in the bar area for many establishments. The staff was still great. We have started each visit off with the Lamb Riblets. Those things are amazing. I keep saying that I’m just going to get them as my meal next time I go in, but it never happens. Maybe once I’ve tried everything I will limit myself to just the ribs one night. On my last visit I tried their sandwich called The Junction. The mild saltiness of the ham combined with that sweetness from the fig jam made it by far, the most awesome grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had. Added on a cup of their Split Pea Soup… OK, sure it repulses some people and makes them think of the Exorcist, but it tastes great! Riblets + Split Pea Soup + The Junction = My Happy Place I will definitely be coming back every time I visit the area.

If you want customer service, stay away from this place. Also the manager Michael, has the I don’t care attitude.

Great service, lackluster food. They seemed to pride themselves in their locally sourced meat, but included almost none in our Shepherds Pie. So we essentially ordered glorified mashed potatoes. Could be because we went 30 minutes before the kitchen closing, but it’s not a good enough excuse for us.

Don’t order the shepard’s pie, it was nothing more than mashed potatoes with little to no meat, carrots, or corn for the outrageous price of $ 12.86. Probably won’t be back

First time here service was good, food somewhat. I ordered sweet potato fries which was very good. I ordered meat loaf which I found disappointing. No flavor to the meat. Sauce is what made the meat loaf good.

One of my fav places to eat in Layton. I go for the friendly service, the incredible authentic food, and of course the 35 different beers(Guinness being the best of course). The owner stops to chat everyone we’re there, which is awesome. The salmon and mash are to die for.

Seriously disappointed! I went today on Saint Patrick’s Day, knowing we would have to wait. The hostess was okay but definitely not willing to go above and beyond. I asked to use the restroom for my three year old while we waited and I was told no. The manager had given her strict Instructions not to let anyone inside who wasn’t being seated, but I could go use the restroom at the BBQ place next door! We left, and I won’t go back. The location in Salt Lake will be getting my business from now on.

We love this place and have been many times over the last few years. Tonight… St. Patrick’s day, A patron in line with a young daughter, who needed to use the bathroom was rejected by the gal running the waiting list. She said that her manager was anal retentive and that they would not allow them to enter the restaurant until their name was officially called from the waiting list. Needless to say, she asked her to take her name off the list and left. Shortly after I recommended to my family that we also leave and we did out of disgust. Who doesn’t let a young lady use the restroom? Signed… Sad former patron.

My favorite thing here is the Corned Beef Casserole. It is purely comfort food. Their Guineas Stew is tasty, as well. They used that stew in the Beef Boxty that I tried today. My husband had the Pork Tenderloin. It was overcooked and dry.(Perhaps you should stick with Irish faire here.

Ok I went with high hopes… but I was left waiting more. First the positives. Service was great. I love the wood chairs and the«feeling» of the place. The okay parts. The food was mediocre at best. The mash tastes like it came out of a box and not fresh. The shepherds pie had little meat… we are talking maybe 4 pieces… small pieces… with the same mash that tastes like it came out of a box. The meatloaf(which was suggested) tastes like it was precooked with they own now sauce added on it. Their soda machine was not working but I will not hold that against them. I would go back only if the person I am going with is paying.
