Great outdoor store in Leadville. They cater to the outdoor/​backcountry enthusiast. With hiking boots, ski rentals, clothing for outdoor adventures, gloves, hats, books, climbing gear, and jewelry from local artist. Staff is nice and knowledgable.

We stopped into Sawatch to get some advice on camping and hiking a nearby mountain. Even though the store was busy, the employee I asked was enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable and spent 20 minutes explaining our different options for our trip. He took the time to ask how long we are staying and also offer lodging and dining advice.
The store has a good selection of gear for almost any backcountry adventure in the area. The prices are what you would expect for an outdoor store with top brands in a mountain town, but they usually have a lot of stuff on sale as well.
