I’ve been getting pedicures here for a couple years. The place is very clean, which is the primary draw. It’s a very large place and they tend to get busy so you will likely have to wait on a weekend. But hey, if a nail salon isn’t busy on Saturday afternoon they are doing something wrong. I like the massage chairs, but watch out for the setting that drives a bar up into your hooha — the first time it’s shocking, but it starts to feel good after a bit, lol. The staff is fairly quiet, which is fine by me. They will try to upsell you to a more expensive pedicure, but that’s to be expected. The basic pedicure is $ 25, and it’s worth it; I’ve tried several other places. Note that they want you to tip in cash, which I’ve found is pretty common.

Got the citrus mani/pedi. The pedicure was great. The manicure was terrible. The nail tech used the citrus scrub on my arms and hands, and instead of wiping it off before putting lotion on to give me an arm massage, she just poured the lotion on top of the scrub and proceeded with the arm massage. Next the nail tech doing my manicure seemed really annoyed/angry when I asked her to remove the polish and repaint two of my finger nails instead of just using nail polish remover on a brush to remove some major spots on the nails. The nail polish on my fingers didn’t even last 24 hours before chipping.

In town visiting my college gal pal– she LOVES this place. We walk in and the first thing I noticed was the plethora of massage chairs– yes! And that’s kinda where the good ended… I got the citrus mani/pedi combo. It’s their deluxe package. The massage, scrubs and lotions were fine but I feel that the actual quality of the paint on the nail was sub-par(please see photo). AND the magazines were the worst! Super old and there were no People or US Weekly. These are essentials people! Especially when every nail salon is almost exactly identical

I love Katherine, I have been getting pink & white fills for over 15 years and she is the best, in those years there was only one other Nail Tech that even came close, «Tango» was the best in town. Thank God I found another talented Pink and White Nail Tech. Your Rock Katherine!

I have been going to Ron at Nail Avante for years. Even though I moved close to the plaza, I still drive south to see Ron. I’ve tried other nail salons, but it’s just not the same. The staff is friendly and professional, and the quality is great!

I have been to Nail Avante a few times and prior today, always had a great experience. This time was a different story. I made an appointment for 12:30PM for a pedicure. I took them 20 minutes to even seat my in the chair. At 12:51 they began my pedi and I was done at 1:02(11 minutes total). It was the fastest pedicure and done very poorly. Will not be going back there for an «11 minute» pedi for $ 30. Rip-off.

Omg… it took my nail tech an hour to take gelish off my nails! Where does that happen!!! I should have walked away when she had to ask how to do it… twice! When I walked in my nails we’re pretty thick naturally now I need gelish because she thinned them so bad they bend at the touch! I AMABSOLUTELYANDUTTERLYPISSED!

So I went in for the first time yesterday to get a full set and I knew previously that I wanted to paint my nails white with a gold design. She did my nails fine until I had to keep reminding her I wanted them more pointy than round. Then halfway through painting my nails I realized she was using the polish for French manicures… Okay, I could’ve picked something else but that’s fine. Then she said she couldn’t do the design but she already charged me for it so we decided on something else. She couldn’t paint the design because the white polish had not dried and it took forever. When I was finally ready to go to the dryer they just looked BAD. They looked cheap. I decided I’d wait a day but today I couldn’t leave it so I went back in for a polish change. She had such an attitude with me because I came back and said that it looked bad. She kept saying why? Why? And I just said can you repaint them? Okay great. Sat down and I had to get them in pink because she didn’t like the white polish I brought in. Then when I was at the dryer she was gossiping about me in the corner with another girl! I could tell because she looked over at me and then the other girl did too and the started talking and laughing. Don’t go here if you want a QUALITY manicure from NICE people. If you want to feel like you’re back in high school cliques then this is your place. They were so nice and conversational with their regular customers but not a new customer. Katherine I’m calling you out! You’re rude and you lost a customer!

I don’t know. I’m traveling. I miss my salon in Atlanta. My girl tried to upsell upsell upsell and it was kind of annoying. They didn’t have the color range/selection that I was used to so I settled for some lavendar color. She wanted me to get gel because it lasts for 3 weeks but, I’m not gonna get it if I’m not committed to the color right? Experience was okay. Probably wouldn’t return.

Truth … I dislike people touching my feet. I don’t even like people looking at them. There really are only two people I am semi-OK with touching them. OK. Really just one person and that’s me and even I don’t like dealing with them because they are ticklish. I decided it was time to get over this issue though. I ended up at Nail Avante with my mother and grandmother for a ladies’ day. And, quite honestly, I felt a little silly for my feet issue. I had a great experience. I had the same nail technician for my pedicure and manicure. She was precise and nice and quick to note my ticklish feet and worked not to make it an issue … for her and me both! I went ahead and opted to have the flowers done on my big toes for kicks. I don’t think I’ll do this all the time(it’s extra money in part), but it was cute and fun. This place has an expansive selection of OPI polishes. I can’t remember what I went with on my fingers, but my toenails were painted in a shade called«Mrs. O’Leary’s BBQ Sauce» or something … so, why not have that shade on my toes?! Overall, a great experience. The salon was clean and well laid out. I found the prices reasonable for what I got!

Close and convenient to my apartment, with friendly staff. The salon is extremely clean but a bit pricier than what I’m accustomed to for a gel manicure and regular pedicure.(It might be because I’m used to being in California and able to do everything for $ 45 rather than $ 65) My only frustration is that the gel manicures don’t seem to last as long as then ones I have previously gotten. I do a lot with my hands(box, etc) and my gel manicure usually lasts approximately 3 weeks. However, my gel manicure form Nail Avante seems to only last a week or so at best — in fact, I got them redone on Friday and already a couple of nails are chipping/peeling. Maybe it has something to do with how I’ve been using my hands(repairs, typing, etc) but I really haven’t been doing anything out of the ordinary. Anyway, aside from this small detail, this has become my go to salon — even with the higher price. The quality of of the work and the cleanliness of the salon overshadow the chipping of my gel manicure. One thing to note, they don’t accept gratuity on your credit card so make sure that you have some cash or carry a check!

Close and easy to get to by my work, they have a friendly staff and they are never busy prior to 11am. Nail Avante is extremely clean and priced competitively for the Leawood area, they offer gel manicures and all of the other mani/pedi services you could ask for. All though, as someone who doesn’t receive pedicures on a regular basis are they supposed to critique your feet? I did feel a little awkward when it was mentioned several times that my feet were very dry, umm okay, that’s why I am here to see you, for a nice nail trimming, exfoliating pedicure, please, thank you. All in all, though I would still go back, feet are gross, and you have to give it to them to have the fortitude to touch other peoples feet on a daily basis. I couldn’t do it, I shrink and freak out when I have to touch other peoples feet myself.

I was quick to be seated for my pedicure. The chairs were soft and had the massage thing built in. It was super busy. The tech that was doing my toenails was less than personable. Don’t get me wrong… she wasn’t rude, but she wasn’t nice either. She seemed to be very distant. I don’t want her gazing into my eyes while rubbing my feet or anything, but I felt like I was really ruining her day. I know she has to touch feet… I know it’s gross. My feet weren’t that bad though, really. The only thing she said to me was«what kind of pedicure do you want?» and then when it was all over she said«twenty-five». Replace the word«pedicure» with«lap dance» and keep the awkward feeling of guilt and it was a lot like that. Anyway, I managed to focus on the tv with subtitles they had going in the background. and stare at the other customers awhile. This gave me some time to realize that this is a huge place. It has probably 12 chairs just on one side of the room… and they were all filled. They keep the polish in two locations and both of them are pretty well stocked. So, a lot of colors to choose from. I got the basic and you guessed it, it was 25 bucks. They do a nice massage for the feet and soap up your feet and legs… do a hot towel for a few seconds… pumice for a little bit… cuticle care and polish. For 6 bucks more they will give you a flower design. Nothing wrong with the job they did. I don’t do this often, so I had to ask how long I was supposed to stay under the drying station. Would have been nice for someone just to casually mention that so I didn’t have to ask. Also, they leave you to take the cotton off yourself. Other places take it off for you. I had a revelation after I left and called the beauty school and they give pedicures for 15 dollars… UPDATE: A few weeks later, I go to the beauty school only to discover that you are better off paying the extra money to have a nice job done. I raised this review a star for this reason.

I found myself running errands around the Town Center area yesterday with an hour to spare, and some nails that were in need of some serious TLC. I received a spa pedicure and spa manicure combo for the reasonable price of $ 48 and it was worth every penny! Great conversation, relaxing atmosphere,(except for another nail tech on her cell phone while doing another costumers nails), reasonable prices, and some fantastic looking nails. Will definitely return when visiting KC!

I tried this salon out when I had a pedicure emergency and my usual salon was not open(they close at 7:30, which is silliness to me). I arrived at this place about 20 minutes prior to their closing time. I didn’t want a rushed job, so I offered to come back another day. They encouraged me to stay despite the time. I felt guilty, but the staff was so nice and friendly, they convinced me to stay. The guy that ended up doing my pedicure was so sweet and funny, he had me laughing the entire time. By the time I was finished, it was a good half hour after the store had closed. He stayed cheerful and never let on at all that he even realized he could have been at home by then. He requested that I come to him again for a manicure and offered to knock off a few bucks if I come back to him for a second pedicure. Sold!
