We had a family trip to Morgan’s campground and canoe rental. We had 4 adults and 4 children 10& under. It was great! We had a great time. The rental process was easy. We chose the 6 mile canoe trip, stopping at the 3 mile mark(campground) for lunch. The concession stand was close in addition to rest rooms. There were no drinking fountains to fill our empty water bottles though. We were picked up within minutes at the 6 mile mark when we put out. We got to our cabins and set up for the night. Cabins were about $ 50 per night. The cabins we stayed in had one full bed and two twin bunk beds, picnic table, hammock, bbq, deck overlooking the river & fire pit. The mattresses were pretty thin. Make sure you bring sheets. The port-a-potties were very clean! Restrooms & showers at the main campground were in good shape. Overall a good experience and I would recommend it.
Issues they need to work on: 1. Quiet time is from 11pm to 9am. We had a group beside us rocking the night away until 12am-ish. Quiet time does not seem to be enforced. 2. Open alcohol is not allowed, there are tons of signs everywhere. I walked to the showers passing a large group in the main shelter with a TON of alcohol, out in the open, not even trying to hide it. The owner of the facility was at the concession stand about 100 yards away. They did not bother us, but come on. Why put the sign up? 3. When you rent the canoes, you leave your vehicle at the rental place. They request your vehicle keys as a «security deposit» on their equipment. We did not sign anything absolving Morgan’s of liability of the vehicles. What if there was something missing from the inside when we got back. I would sue the crap out of them. I didn’t think that was a solid process. They need to request something else.

Canoeing is one sport that I don’t think enough people attempt. I wish the weather permitted canoeing more often. It’s fun, it can be relaxing, you can go with friends or family and thanks to Morgan’s Canoe, it’s affordable and stress-free to plan. Morgan’s Canoe is located about 30 – 40 minutes north of Cincinnati in Morrow, OH along the Little Miami River. They offer a range of options for recreational canoe fun. You decide how long you wish to canoe by choosing one of the stopping points created by Morgan’s Canoe. There is one at about 3 miles or you can go for up to 18 miles. Wherever you decide to stop and head back, Morgan’s Canoe has buses that go from stop to stop to pick up canoers to take them back to the main lodge. If you want to make a bigger experience or a weekend of it, you can opt to camp out along the river. I have never done this but it looks like so much fun. The first time I went, I opted for the 6 mile trip. They informed me that it would take anywhere from 1 ½−3 hours. It ended up taking me the entire 3 hours because I stopped several times to relax and enjoy the scenery. Although I took a bunch of friends, there were several families and young children there as well. It really is for anyone. Even though they aren’t needed, they provide life jackets for any size. The water is pretty shallow but there are a lot of turns and sections that dead-end. We found this out the hard way, but if you can laugh at yourself, you’ll actually find it pretty funny instead of stressful. We had so much fun when we went last year that we have already planned another one for this year. I have already reserved our canoes! Don’t forget to wear your sunscreen! I found this out the hard way too!
