I have been using Value Auto Clinic for years for State Inspections, so when the brake wear indicator lit up on my Mercedes Benz a few days before Thanksgiving I decided to skip the dealership and support a local business — Value Auto Clinic. I was able to set up an appointment for the next day, even after noticing most of the bays were filled with other customer cars. Understanding that with over 109,000 miles under the cars belt I did expect a bit more than pad would be necessary(it still had the factory pads from 9 years ago), I was not surprised that it also needed rotors. The work was completed more quickly that I had anticipated, and the final cost was lower than I imagined. Driving home I found the brakes worked well within my expectations. So what’s not to like: timely and friendly service, reasonable prices, and quality work. And all that from a local small business! Yep, I will be using them even more in the future.

I am really upset by the actions of this place. I recommended them to my widowed mother. They had been honest and fair to me in the past. Her chrysler pacifica was making noises and acting bad. We knew this car model had a severe rust problem. Look up chrysler pacifica rust and you will see horrible stories. It’s around the engine cradle that is the worst. My mom mentioned this to him and he acted like she was stupid. We get a estimate not too long after we dropped it off of $ 800. We did not have it at the time. My mom goes to get it and he mentions no rust when she asks and says it is fixable. So yesterday we went to another mechanic in Blue Springs who would do the repairs this place said for $ 500. Well they get it up and called my mom going we can’t do this. The subframe rust is too bad. One more pothole and you could lose your engine. IFTHISPLACEHADEVENPUTITUPTHEYWOULDHAVESEENTHERUST! It’s like they drove it around said oh it is the front struts and didn’t even put it up. Cause if they did then that is sad that they would risk a clients life for $ 800. I will not be going back here if this is how they treat recommended customers. I am sorry I ever told my mom about this place.

I have been using the location on Gillham for car repairs for a number of years. Jared is a man of few words but he is good to do business with. The mechanics in his shop, Michael and Jason, are fun to talk to. When talking to any of them, I always feel like they are being honest and really trying to help me make the decision that is in my best interest. The clincher was yesterday, late Friday afternoon. My car all of a sudden started making squealing noises in the morning. I had time in the afternoon so I called Jared and asked if someone would have time to drive and diagnose it and he said«Come on in». Michael drove it and said the brakes were shot. Michael and Jared said they didn’t feel comfortable with me leaving with the car. AND they loaned me a car for the weekend. Wow. It’s a junker, but it’s got four wheels, gas and it moves and I really needed a car this weekend. Disclaimer: I don’t think this is part of their regular service, but I’ve been going there for years so they know me. But, as I’ve sat in their waiting room waiting for my car, I’ve seen Jared or the other mechanics drop people off, pick people up or go jump start cars. They seem to really try to help people out. I recommend using this garage. The waiting room is no frills so don’t expect to spend the day there drinking coffee, surfing free wifi and watching TV. Only some benches and old magazines, and some vending machine items. Chilly in the winter. The Filling Station coffee shop is a short walk away.
