Grosero Tattoo and Skate

This place used to be my go-​to place for piercings and tattoos. Mouse has done some of my work as well as Miguel, they’re both really good. (The only reason they’re even getting a star) Also Ruly did all my piercings and he was great, but after returning a month ago I discovered Ruly was no longer working there. Some other guy does piercings there now. When I came in I just wanted a small tattoo behind my ear and the guy that did it did an awful job. I’ve had it for two months and its almost completely faded, the ink is barely there anymore. I have over 30 tattoos from years ago and with proper care, all of them are still bright and beautiful. Also the white guy who does the piercings now kept talking about how he needed a drink and smelled like alcohol so bad and HE WAS WORKING! I’ve worked in parlors before and what I saw here was so unprofessional. Really sad

Miguel (Miggz) does absolutely amazing work. The process of getting a quote, scheduling for the tattoo, and getting the ink was painless. Well, getting the ink was far from painless but you know what I mean.
This shop is a hidden gem. Everyone is friendly, every artist here is talented, and the prices are well worth the quality art that you receive. Before going to one of the more well known shops, waiting 4 months to get an appointment, and paying an arm and a leg; come here and talk to one of these guys and save yourself the time and the money.
During my session I was the last one in the shop so I got to see the employees clean the shop after all the appointments were done for the day. These guys didn’t miss anything. The place was spotless which is what you like to see when you’re allowing someone to put a foreign substance into your body.
My piece is only about half done and I get compliments from people o run into everyday. I can’t wait to come back to get more ink!

Great tattoo shop. Very friendly and professional staff. I was tattooed by Rick and he did an excellent job. His portfolio is very impressive, great artist. My tattoo is very clean and smooth. I love it.

I went to see Miguel (Migz) so he could fix a tattoo that I had on my right arm after an hour or 2 he finished and it looks great.
I came back to him so that he could do a portrait of my mom on my right shoulder blade. My mom saw it and I do agree with her when she said it was amazing!
The atmosphere in the shop is great. All of the guys there are friendly and funny! I definitely recommend this place

This place is by far one of the best tattoo shops in San Diego! The owner is always professional and the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. I’ve had several tattoo’s done here and I always get tons of compliments. Real people, real talent, great prices, and amazing work!

Last night my cousin and I went to Grossero to get small tattoos each, for our 7 PM appointment. My cousin had made the appointment a week prior, and had followed up with that appointment call to confirm what we were getting. My cousin was informed that the shop was offering $ 40 tattoos with the donation of a kids Halloween costume, so I bought 2 to donate beforehand. We arrived to the shop 15 minutes early (our appointment was at 7) and found that our scheduled artist had already begun working on someone else. The artist said that he had tried to call my cousin to confirm the appointment (even though it had been scheduled and confirmed with two earlier calls) and that her phone was «out of service» and he assumed we weren’t coming. I had been with my cousin for over an hour that day and her phone was working just fine; there were no missed calls. Regardless of the attempted call, we had arrived to our schedule appointment 15 minutes early and he had already put a stencil on a walk-​in client. We weren’t late, and there was literally no reason to assume that we weren’t coming. He informed us that he would be done with his new client in about an hour and we could wait (it actually took 2.5 hours).
We didn’t get an apology, or any attempt at customer service even though we were clearly disappointed and offended. We were not interested in waiting around for an hour, so the artist offered that we get tattooed by the apprentice «if we wanted», so I went first. My tattoo was completed around 10:30 PM. We had arrived at the shop at 6:45. My cousin’s tattoo wasn’t even started until after 9 PM, and her artist was messing around with the credit card machine for well over 20 minutes, ignoring her, even though we were the only ones left in the shop and we had informed them that were paying in cash multiple times.
I’m really disappointed in the behavior of the shop and the way the situation was handled. We were in the shop for over 4 hours for our rather small tattoos, and got treated pretty poorly. The really sad part is that both my cousin and I had been to this shop before and have recommended it to many people. I do think that the work we received last night looks great, but the negative experience overshadows that. I, personally, will not be returning to the shop and I will not be recommending it to anyone again. I appreciate the donation that they have going on right now, and I am happy to contribute, but I am honestly still in shock and offended at the way my cousin and I were treated.
It’s unfortunate that people with so much talent could care so little about their clients and treat them so rudely.

Mouse is great! One of the coolest tattoo artists and nicest. Came here for my first tattoo and was super nervous. Mouse immediately made me feel comfortable and listened to all of my questions and concerns (even though some of them were stupid) and made me feel less stupid. He sat there with me looking up variations of the design I wanted and drew a couple different designs for me to choose from. I loved the final piece! My tattoo was simple and he gave me a great price. While he was doing the actual tattoo when he would notice me tense up he’d stop and ask how I was doing and if I wanted a break, super sweet guy! The only reason this place didn’t get 5 stars for me is because there were a couple of walk ins and at one point he talked to one for 15 minutes and left me hanging even though I set up an appointment which was annoying. But besides that I love the shop and it’s vibe. Definitively coming back for the rest of my tattoos.

My bestie told me to book with Mouse and he took great care of me! My first tattoo and everyone made made laugh and feel at ease… He really made my little simple drawing come to life. I love it!

Came in to get my dimples pierced… Again!!! Cause the lady from D&G messed me up! Anyways came in n i loved it… the vibe was good and the people were great! Very talkative very neat and i must say very cute haha they did a great job on my cheeks… I will definitely come back for the next piercing!!!

Miguel drew up exactly what I was wanting, he was professional and respectful throughout my 4 sessions. I loved coming into the shop, all the guys were cool and made the shop fun.
My tattoo is complimented 24/​7, amazing work, I’m in love with my tattoo! Go to this shop… U cannot go wrong… They r the best!

Disrespectful and rude as fuck. tattoos are alright but with their humor, thats something I wouldn’t wanna be around.

I love there work. They have 3 guys tattooing (1 being the owner). This place is a legit custom shop. Take them an idea or picture and they will make it work. I got worked on by Benny the owner and he is extremely talented. I even brought in my little sister who has been dying to get a tattoo since she turned 18, that’s how confident I am in this shop. The shop itself is really clean /​sanitary. The artists always take the time to sanitize and wipe everything down before and after sessions. They always have music playing in the background And 2 tv’s set up so time flies. There is also a pool table inside to keep ur buddy or whoever tagged along to stay entertained.
They do have a guy doing piercings. I don’t have any so I haven’t had him work on me but while I was there plenty of people came in to see him.
