Screw this place. Ordered a Pancho Breakfast burrito and they got it wrong, I’m sick of this place screwing up my order. It’s not that complicated, that is all I ordered. This one burrito. I’m lactose intolerant, no cheese. I will never come here again. Now my stomach is rolling and I get to go sit on the toilet after eating a quarter of it without realizing it and loathe the money I spent. Not cool! The cashier even acknowledged it, no cheese. I’ve come here in the past but no longer. What a rip off, I’m DONE with this place. Ive given them several chances in the past before this review.

Never again! I work a minute away, and I have given this place so many chances. Not only are the cashiers rude, food takes forever to cook, and it’s BAD Mexican food. I always get something different each visit because I’ve never found one thing I like here. I will never give this place my money ever again. Better off driving to the barrel, even though it’s a couple miles away.

I ordered the carne asada but I’m not sure what the mystery meat was that they gave me. I had a few questions about the menu and what came on the food but the cashier doesn’t speak english so he called the girl who was in the kitchen eating sucking her fingers to translate. As I sat there waiting for my food I looked around and this place is filthy! Trash left on tables, floors, and the chairs were all over the place and not pushed in. While I was at the salsa bar the chick that was in the kitchen eating reached passed me to grab more of their famous nasty salsa for her food. I decided to step outside to get my phone to take pics of the filth but I had forgotten it at home. When I came back in to get my food they just left it on the counter for anyone to grab. I guess they hire anyone here.

For the worst food in town this is the spot a long with crappy service. Kinda weird I should have figured when I saw all the Mexican food garbage littering the parking lot. One of the worst things to happen to Lemon Grove.

If you want burnt carne Asada fries Santana’s is the place to go. The chef walked out and handed me my food and I thought he was very curious only to find out on the way home the fries were burnt as fuck maybe it’s because he felt bad so he didn’t want me to open the box.

I am sorry but i had to write a review. It is so hot in this taco shop my forehead is sweating. Cant enjoy my food due to NOAIRCONDITIONING. ALSOORDEREDTHECAMARONES A LADIABLAPLATE. My shrimps were all covered with OMG so much melted cheese. I never asked for camarones al quezo. I ordered camarones a la diabla that just means in hot salsa. Wth. I was starbing thats why i came here but i have never liked how litle food they serve for their prizes. Dont come here unless no other place to go to. Also went to cotijas and they at least add lettuce to the plate. This plate was so empty looking. Uggg all that cheese though. By the way im writting this review while im eating. Thats mad i am.

Second time here, live super close(up the street literally). The first time I came the day it opened, wasn’t impressed at all. Today, the woman who took my order was rude and uninviting. The food took like 20 minutes and all I got was a burrito. At least the food was good and the burrito was big this time, thus the three stars.

The service is horrendous. The girls at the register don’t give eye contact, don’t ask«How can I help you?», give you the receipt without saying a word, and to be honest, have to be the most RACIST group of Mexican people I’ve ever been around(and I’m half-Mexican)! I won’t leave a food review because the service alone will leave you with a BADTASTE regardless!!! Drive 2 lights north and go to El Pollo Grill where the food is better and great customer service DOES exist! Looking forward to the one day where this Santana’s is locked up with a large sign out front that says«OUTOFBUSINESS». I for one will certainly know why!

3 stars for the food, but the service this time was horrible. Both females rude and carrying on conversations about work problems in front of customers. Both girls just exuded attitude with everyone in the restaurant while I was there. They need training on customer service.

Went here early morning after date night and a horrendous experience at TGI Fridays. Our friends are always raving about this place so we decided to give it a try. Food was pretty good. I got a ½ order of carne asada fries and my hubby got a carne asada CA burrito. He enjoyed his burrito. My fries were tasty. I like that they use Queso Fresco on the fries. Gives them extra flavor. The service was also really good. I will probably return.

I came to Santana’s with my friend on the way home from being out all night. He said it was open 24 hours and my 2am drunk self cried tears of joy haha. FOOD! The guy at the front took our order and was super nice. I ordered the carne asada fries and my friend ordered the Cali Burrito. My order was PERFECT. As others have stated, the fries were very crispy, hot, and not soggy ATALL. The rest of the ingredients were on point as well. The only thing I might have changed is the cheese they used for mine. It was the white cotija cheese I believe, when I’m more into cheddar with my fries. Still, it was great. The portion size was TOO big haha. I’ve been known to eat A LOT after drinking but I couldn’t finish it. I’m ashamed. And at a little over $ 9, I had unknowingly bought myself a much shameful leftover lunch for the following day haha. This place is totally great for the area, and super awesome for being open all night. Thanks guys! :)

My friend David took me here. It is kinda semi sorta new in Lemon Grove by 7’11. The menu is NOT typical cali-mex food. It is awesome. My friend had some kind of shrimp, carne, veggie burrito the size of deleware. I had a shrimp quesadilla that was the best quesadilla I have ever had. BIg big portions. Order a drink and fugetaboutit… I could barely finish but finish I did. Some reviews i see not so good but I did like it so there!

As much as it pains me to write a positive review I am. California burrito(with adobada) crispy fries, melted cheese, great portion size, and it’s hot? That’s perfect! Not sure if yall have horror stories from going to taco shops at 1am but the worst thing to get is a COLD ass burrito. Like the type where the cheese isn’t melted and the fries are super soggy. The type of burrito that makes you think, they collected all the shit from today and threw it in your burrito. Well that’s not what happened to me. I’ve been to this location 2 times in a 3 day period and they were consistent in executing my food. Solo guy in the kitchen, may take a little bit more time but man one of the most satisfying early morning Mexican food I’ve had Ina while. I Recommend it if they keep this up!

Meh. Over-priced and mediocre food. Enchiladas weren’t cooked, the cheese shreds totally unmelted, and the beef tacos cold. My spouse enjoyed the potato tacos, though. Overall, still meh. Overpriced and mediocre service. We won’t be back. BTW, here is your website with the combos offered and how we created our order to make it easy before heading in. So weird you don’t actually have these combos. it’s your logo so I assume it’s your site? Just a heads up. Xx

Well we gave it another shot, I ordered the al pastor taquitos combo. Let me tell you the food was blend all around I’m glad I grabbed extra salsas is what saved my dinner, the rice as you can see in the picture must of been sitting all day soooo dry and flavorless the beans just blaa the chips ahhh stale. The tacos are over stuff and just blaa. I hope the owner is reading these reviews because they seem to all be negative, I may go back if the reviews start change for the best good luck I wanted to add to this review my husband order the California burrito wow we call it the French fries burrito plus how you going to charge us .99 cents for sour cream but you don’t put no sour cream… Very disappointed. oh well lesson learned

How can u mess up a california burrito… Cheese was in a ball all cold. Not even spread out through the burrito. And fries??? They looked from like 3 days ago. Frozen fries from the grocery would of had taste better. No flavor on the burrito and they were stingy on the chicken which it was watery. Pollo asado shouldnt be watery. I know is 9pm but still, they should try on making an efford… And the Orchata water… Really disappointed on it

I have visited other Santana’s around town with pretty good results. I stopped by this new location and ordered three adobada mini street tacos for I believe were $ 4.99 plus tax. I tried three of their hot sauces from their salsa bar, the green avocado, the super hot red, and the medium red( ). The mini tacos came double wrapped in corn tortillas which I liked very much. The pork adobada was quite good, but perhaps the pork could of used a little more of the flavor, but overall they were good( ). The meat was little so I added a fresh squeeze of lime juice and salsa on all three tacos. My favorite flavor wise was the avocado salsa which had a very mild heat but great flavor( ). The chopped cilantro and onions were great and the red hot sauce made from pure red peppers, phew watch out! For me, they three tacos were not filling, but I would imagine for most, it would be a good meal. The girl at the counter was nice, a little overwhelmed as customers kept coming on in, but then anther girl arrived and things ran more smoothly. Good Mini’s…

For those of us who grew up on Santana’s Mexican Food as an anyday staple can relate. Why did a number of these popular taco shops suddenly change their name to Fresh MXN Food? After a few minutes of lazy online research, I didn’t find an answer. So this place recently opened up a few days ago. Finally. I remember noticing the brightly lit neon signs night several weeks ago. The friendly cashier gal said that the opening was delayed because of the cleanup and construction needed to build the restaurant into this office building. Some talking points: –No drive-thru. It’s a taco shop in the strip mall next to 7-Eleven. –Cards accepted. Thank you for being a modern day merchant so I don’t have to find an ATM with extortion fees. –New staff. Friendly and conversational cashier. The cook left the kitchen area to read the menu board up front? Don’t burn my food, amigo. –Compact salsa bar. Lots of sauces, but not much for veggie condiments. The glass sneeze panel wasn’t installed, but I’m sure this will be corrected for health code compliance. I stopped in for breakfast, but didn’t want a burrito. My mistake. I got the chilaquiles plate. My mistake again. Probably not their strongest menu item. It’s a lot of tortilla chips, red sauce, melted cheese, and a fried egg. Sour cream and chopped white onions on the side, along with rice and refried beans. Think lazy breakfast nachos combo minus any chicken or beef. It’s a lot of food, but not the most awesome food ever. Maybe it was the bad tortillas, like the ones where you left the bag open for days, so now you have dried out, chewy, leathery tortillas. I don’t think the chilaquiles turned out well because the tortillas were coated, but didn’t absorb much of the red sauce, so it was too dry. Unfortunately, no amount of cheese or salsa could save it. After seeing some way better chilaquiles pics from a Tijuana Unilocal friend, I should’ve flipped the table and walked out. Mental note to self: self, stop trying to go off the beaten menu path and try dishes that the kitchen does not make often enough where the cook has to come up front and look at the menu board for the recipe. Next time, consider a burrito.
