As soon as I walked in the door, one of the employees (who had walked in right before me) asked if there was anything they could help me find. This was helpful, as I was going to need to ask for help at some point anyway.
I was looking for a new pair of cleats, and told him what I’m looking for (I have wide feet so it’s hard to find something) and that I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I’d admitted to Lenny (the person that offered to help) that I know extra-​wide cleats are hard to find, and he confirmed this. Lenny took me over to the footwear section and immediately grabbed a couple pairs that were on sale (for a pretty low price) that could possibly fit without being too uncomfortable. I tried them on while he checked out a couple other sections, and managed to find a pair that fit exactly what I was looking for.
Turns out he’s the store manager, but even at that he wasn’t trying to up-​sell me at all. Cleats can get really expensive, but he managed to find me a comfortable pair in little time, at little cost. The other people working there generally seemed in a good mood. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone!

Woah. Though their parking lot is crappy, the store itself is cool. But we didn’t do much exploring. We were looking for track spikes and found them on our own. Shortly after, a younger dude comes around to ask us if we need any help. He helped us decide which size to purchase by asking my kid which events he ran. Super friendly, completely polite, totally helpful, and very knowledgeable. I don’t remember ever getting that kind of treatment at Dick’s. Impressive.

The only sports store in KC (that I’ve found) that carries inline skates! As a bonus, they let you try them on and skate around the store. They also carry Aspire yoga pants — so soft and comfortable. Wish I would have seen the $ 25 offer on here before I shopped.
