Stopped in for a haircut after seeing their sign for «$ 5 cut for first time customers.» We had just relocated to the Fitchburg/​Leominster area and thought since I need the easiest haircut in the world — a buzz cut — it would be simple.
Not so much. I explained to the woman that I wanted a buzz cut with a #2 blade — a cut that’s been working for me for a few years now. I mentioned I was going to an interview the following day and she took it upon herself to give me a make-​over. Instead of what I asked for, she suggested keeping it much longer on the top, especially in the rear top — making it look like permanent bedhead from the back, as no hair would lay straight. Of course I didn’t realize this until my wife scowled at me the moment I sat in the car.
Sure I had the choice and right to say «No way, Jose,» and like I said, I didn’t realize there was an issue until I walked out, but it was annoying to have to get another haircut right away.
If you’re looking for a super cheap cut and you’ve never been here before, go ahead, BUT be prepared to put that foot of yours down. Preferably before your wife looks at you and shakes her head. Good luck.
