Authentic Cantonese food. It saves me time in driving to Flushing to have dim sum or dinner. Price is good. Need to wait for a while on Sunday morning though.

More of a 3.5 review but since the location of this is placed perfectly, they deserve a nice review. You don’t find any sorts of dim sum restaurants once you pass great neck, queens so it really saves my family time to get a bite to eat on a sunday without having to drive 40 minutes to flushing. As for food, they’re exactly like what you would expect in flushing. The stuffed bean curd, chow fun stuffed in shrimp, etc. I would say the food is fresh about… 90% of the time. 10% of the time you won’t bite into something pleasant. Service is average. They’re a younger lady there and she’s pretty prompt with it. They have a bathroom in the back but it’s really rag-tag. It’s also nice to see other people that aren’t asian enjoying a different dining experience, just to show what we’re all about! But overall, nice restaurant for where it’s located.

We’ve been regulars for over 12 years and found it be most authentic Chinese food outside of the 5NYC burros. The service is haphazard but the food is great and the price is right and you know it’s authentic when 90% of the customers are Asian. Love the Singapore Noodles, veal chop with black bean sauce, lobster Cantonese and the two flavored rice. We noticed a slight dip in quality of the food since Francis retired, but Fortune Wheel is still on the very top of our list.

We used to love this place for authentic Chinese food. My family went there today for dim sum and it took us 45 minutes to get 3 plates. We left and told the girl at the register and she said«kitchen bad» today. Not an excuse. The place has been going downhill since Francis left, who was one of the owners.

Authentic Chinese food. You will see a regular crowd of elderly Chinese. Like in China, they will order just a little dim sum and sit there for hours enjoying being out. Dim sum review. Very good, not great. Levittown, not Queens. Har gow skin too thick. Shrimp cakes with scallion very good. Tofu skin rolls good, not great. Shrimp cheong fun, very good. I ordered beef chow mein and asked for XO sauce. I don’t think there was any XO. There were a few stalks of gai lan. Overcooked. Beef was reall good. The noodles and the sauce were excellent. I could go for more of that tomorrow. Service is really good. There’s a real buzz to this place at dim sum time on the weekends. They are super nice to my parents(regulars). That pushed it into 4-stars.

I’m a fan of their food but their service is terrible. Go there for the food but don’t expect much from their service.

GREAT Cantonese food! Décor hasn’t been updated since the 80’s, so don’t expect a posh restaurant. And go to the bathroom before you come here, not the cleanest. But you’re not coming here for the bathroom, you’re coming for the Dim Sum and many other fantastic dishes they serve. Great price as well!

For some reason it was not packed here today. While all the tables were filled and the staff was certainly hustling, there was only a short wait for those just arriving. There are few 2 top tables and for the first time ever we were seated at the one across the partition from the front door. I knew sitting here was a mistake from the get go since 1– the cart can’t readily get through there and 2– with a 2 degree day each time the door opened we received a tundra breeze. Nothing some hot tea and too much dim sum wouldn’t take care of. The host does know us and did apologize and the staff was very doting, making sure that we had everything that we needed, making trips with trays over our way. If you are a visitor to Fortune Wheel then you know«doting» is not a characteristic of their typical service, so I was very flattered. The waiter even called me Lisa while joking about whether or not I should cut my sesame balls or not. some of these new guys are almost«chipper». A must is the baby book choi… studded with garlic cloves. A true test of ones relationship on Valentine’s Day. On the way out I noticed this fish who seemed to be trying to get my attention with his puppy dog eyes and a cute little smirk. I can’t stop thinking about him. I’ve never felt this way about a fish like this before and I was tempted to ask to pay the full price that he would command in a dish if he could live out his life peacefully in this tank. But then I thought about the look that would be on the Maitred’s face and I just walked out. Even now, hours later, I am haunted by that fish.

This is unlike any other Chinese dining experience I’ve had. This place probably hasn’t changed the décor in decades, but the experience is like no other. My husband and I come here for dim sum every so often and always wind up choosing too many items. Everything is so good! They have every thing from your basic dumplings to your more extreme(chicken feet?!?) so everyone goes home happy. For the amount of food you get it is relatively inexpensive.

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend as the most authentic Chinese food in this area. I tried the Crispy Garlic half chicken. It was amazingly flavorful. I have never eaten chicken skin prepared to sick a crispy perfection. It is sliced very nicely into bite size pieces. I’m giving it 4 stars because I told them it was my first time there, and no one explained to me that the tea and other appetizers that were placed on my table COSTEXTRA. I was surprised when my BILL was 6 dollars MORETHAN I EXPECTED.

As a kid, I was here EVERY Sunday for dim sum. Now as an adult I am still coming here at least 4x a week for either dim or dinner. This is the only Chinese restaurant you can get decent authentic chinese food w/out having to drive into Queens. Service — It is ok and sometimes poor. Since the staff know my family and I, we are always greeted once we walk in. However, I have witness some moments of poor service so if you are looking for excellent service, this is not the place. Food — Most Chinese people who live on Long Island and do not want to drive into Queens will come here. Dim sum is good and glad to see they still have the push cart. Once in awhile their chicken feet is drenched in oil but otherwise all other dishes are good. As for dinner, again no complaints. This past Friday night I was here and had the tilapia fish which was really fresh! If you are a fish eater, always ask what they recommend.

Food: 4 stars Service: 2 – 3 stars My family and I have been dining here since I was a kid. They do make delicious and authentic dim sum and Chinese food. I would really suggest you try the Peking Pork Chops(omg, they are to die for). If their food wasn’t so delicious, I would never dine at this place. Half the staff here have terrible attitudes — especially the older guy with glasses that is always loud and obnoxious(I’ve seen him yell at customers before). My bill the last time I came here totaled around $ 50; they charged a $ 5 fee for using a credit card. I would bring cash to this place when dining here if you’d like to avoid that cost.

I came here for lunch and dinner and it is the closest authentic Chinese food I can find on the island. The location is perfect right next to the BJ’s. I visited Fortune Wheel 3 times and everytime I am very satisfied with their food. This is a no frill Chinese Restaurant and not a Five star white glove restaurant. If you are looking for service try PF Chang’s.

Food is friggin delicious. Got the dim sum sampler and crispy half chicken with fried garlic. So good. Stingy motherfrs though. Charge you extra for a tiny bowl of rice if you over one. My waiter was nice older well groomed. But he only came to take the order and that was it had to deal with the rest of the wait staff. The others though yuck, unkempt schlubby and just a very disinterested attitude. I had left over dim sum in a Togo bag and I forgot it for a minute walked out the door, came back and they threw it out or made some excuse that someone else took it. I’m like wtf? Most restaurants are courteous to hold it for a few minutes. I demanded they remake it for the half order I left on purpose. They did but so begrudgingly and the acting manager schlubby guy almost bald starts lecturing me «no next time» after I said I appreciate them remaking it. I asked are you the owner? And he shut up. So go here for the delicious food but don’t expect high end attentive service. 4.5 stars for food, but the service is about 1.5−2 stars. I mean no friggin manners or hospitality training.

Probably not the best choice for a couple dining alone. In fact, most of the patrons were in large groups around big tables with lazy-susans. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The menu has many interesting choices but we were on our own. We ordered corn and crab chowder, clams, lobster, beef, vegetables… Everything came to the table at once. Everything was hot, but everything tasted bland and tired. Soy sauce helped but was not a miracle cure. My taste buds may be getting old, but I left thinking that this place is living on reputation.

My mom and I used to love going to this place after or before shopping at BJ’s. The dimsum is good but we lived for those clams in black bean sauce. However, we found long pieces of hair in our food a couple of times and notified the staff. The first time, they kinda ignored the issue. The second time, the manager proudly informed us that it is hair from the cooking brushes that they use, which is the«authentic» way to cook. I care not so much about the authenticity, so I would rather that they apologize for the hair. It’s a shame because their clams in black bean sauce is one of the best and most consistently good ones I’ve had. I tried take out again, minus the infamous clams, and found that their shrimp dumpling tasted very off. There is an equally good dimsum place nearby, so I am not likely to visit this place again.

First time trying out Dim Sum here out in LI and surprisingly this place was actually pretty good. I had expected it be more expensive or not as authentic vs. the ones in the city or Flushing but I had a quite pleasant experience here indeed. The restaurant itself is literally between a Bestbuy and BJs which was bit hard to find at first as I drove right by it in the parking lot without seeing the sign. However, being in a huge shopping mall there’s plenty of parking. Restaurant itself wasn’t very big and about half of the seating area is on a raised platform where the carts can’t really make their way in so instead they carry the food around on trays. Being the fact its a smaller restaurant it doesn’t have as many variety as the ones you find a bigger place like Golden Unicorns in Chinatown or Asian Seafood Jewel in Flushing. But for what they have they are very authenthic indeed and the price was on par with the bigger restaurants I been in the city. We got about maybe 9 total dishes and ended up only around $ 15 each person including tip and tax definitely was a nice and fulfilling meal. My favourite was the baked version of Cha Siu Buns. I had tried a similar where they baked the buns in HK and Taiwan before but was surprised to see them have it out here. There were also plenty other Dim Sum favorites that I haven’t tried yet at the restaurant. Service was about what you expect at a Chinese place, not very friendly but they are efficient and get you in and out. I think most of them don’t speak Mandarin though I had to resort to English as I don’t speak Cantonese… Sadness. But they do do their job and got us what we needed despite us sitting more toward the back. Overall definitely a great alternative than going all the way into city or Flushing if you’re out here on the island. Plus afterwards can go shopping just next door while digesting all that food you ate haha.
