I was expecting Stella’s to be good based on the star ranking and the online menu. I went on a Saturday evening around 8 pm. I was already planning on getting the Stella Burger and was excited for it. On first entering the establishment, it looked quaint and cute. You could sit outside underneath the trees and enjoy the weather. The host was polite but immediately seemed to have a distaste for us by our very casual clothing. I hadn’t realized this restaurant was a sophisticated dining experience for the usual uppity, aristianal crowd that Lewisburg typically attracts. Either way, we were directed to a table only after the host asked us if we had a reservation while acting like it was extremely important but clearly wasn’t. After being seated, our waitress took ten to fifteen minutes to notice our existence. It did give us a chance to look at the menus but I expected them to treat us with the same courtesy and promptness as their other guests even if we weren’t dressed to their liking. The menu was the biggest issue to me. It did not match the online menu almost at all. I think the salads and a few appetizers might’ve been the same but that was all. Other than that, the menu only contained a total of six entrees(smoked chicken, grilled swordfish, filet, etc.). All six of the entrees were priced $ 22-$ 32. Being polite, I didn’t want to be a rude guest and walk out. The waitress finally greeted us and retrieved our drink orders. She seemed to be pleasant and sincere. I ordered the 6 oz filet special and my husband ordered the grilled swordfish. After about thirty mins, the food was served. The filet was decent and had an interesting tasting sauce. The portions of the sides were small. It was not in any way worth the $ 32 that it cost. I could’ve made a more delicious, cheaper steak dinner at home. My husband liked his grilled swordfish but again thought that it wasn’t worth the $ 26 when the portions were small and it didn’t taste amazing. The only thing that we did really enjoy eating was the fried pickles appetizer which was only $ 7. The service was poor in the fact that the staff had a slight snooty attitude, it took the waitress awhile to notice us, and she spend like fifteen minutes with my credit card which bothers me. It is pretty bad when you pay $ 74.20 for two meals and then are still hungry when you leave the restaurant. It was a complete waste of my money when I didn’t enjoy the meal, the service was slow, and it was expensive. I mean if I was going to splurge and get my money’s worth, I might’ve as well spent a little more money and driven to White Sulphur Springs for Prime 44 West, which is amazing.

We dine at Stella’s every time we are in town. The best sandwiches! The service and staff are terrific. The house has so much history and adds to the ambience. A must go!

4.5 Would have been a 5 if appetizer servings were bigger, they were a little pricey for what you get. That being said, the appetizers we got of fried pickles and mozzarella sticks were absolutely delicious. Perfectly brownd and crispy on the outside. A phenomenal sauce served with the pickles. We wouldn’t let the waiter take that away when the appetizers were done, we wanted to use the rest on our meals. Ordered for dinner were the Stella’s Burger, the Spicy Black Bean Burger, and the Chicken Picatta. Both burgers were well above average, both diners really enjoyed that meal. I had the Chicken Picatta, I had to, I haven’t had Chicken Picatta in over 15 years(since I left NY). OMG it was sooooo good. Perfectly lemony-buttery, seasoned just right, and maybe too many capers, but that’s ok, it flavored that sauce so perfectly. The chicken was very tender and juicy too. To swoon for! Our waiter was very upbeat and friendly, There were one or two times when he could have got to us faster, but he a few other very busy tables, so it’s ok. He made up for it just by being so helpful and accomodating. The atmoshere here is like dining in someone’s home. There are several rooms with a few tables in each, so you do not feel packed in. It’s actually very intimate, perfect for a date night. I’m looking forward to trying more of their fare next time we’re in Lewisburg.

Stopped for brunch on a Sunday morning and weren’t disappointed. Creative, flavorful offerings like eggs Benedict with crab, a pulled pork and fontina omelette special and super sweet French toast with pecan syrup kept our entire group happy. The setting is beautiful — we ate outside under an umbrella on a sunny morning, with a nice view of quaint downtown Lewisburg. A grassy area featured cornhole and was great for those with kids to run around. There were a few minor issues. Service was spotty, with our server not offering to talk about the specials, what seemed like long wait times with a fairly empty restaurant and empty water glasses for multiple people in our party. I also have to say that while prices were mostly reasonable($ 12 omelette, $ 16 for the Benedict with avocado and crab), a very average cup of coffee was $ 3.50. That said, we’re eager to head back for dinner and a drink sometime soon.

High quality food. The lady had the curry chicken salad, and I had the pork belly turkey sub. We ordered crab dip but received spinach dip instead, but to be fair it was excellent spinach dip. Wide variety of wine, beer and spirits.

Tried because of other great reviews. Was not disappointed. Fire roasted red pepper tomato soup was exceptional. Brisket sandwich and fries delicious. Service terrific. Since we came between lunch and dinner the owner took time to show us around this historic home. Don’t miss this experience!

Stella’s is one our favorite restaurants in the area. We’ve been there about a half dozen times since moving here several months ago. The Eggs Benedict for brunch was very good(both the traditional and one with crabmeat and avocado, both served with fruit salad). My favorite dish is the curried mussels – absolutely delicious; I want to order it almost every time we go there. My husband loves their Pittsburgher Salad with French fries being a component of the salad. They have a «pasta night» one night a week – you choose pasta shape, sauce and optional protein – good, but would have liked a little larger portion for $ 16.99, although it does come with a small side salad. The sticky toffee pudding is a winner! It’s a small portion but that’s OK since it’s very rich. The service is excellent and the ambience is a cozy, rustic elegance. Overall, I don’t think you can go wrong at Stella’s.
