Considering there is not much competition closeby I can see why there have been good reviews. Yes, it may be better than the Econolodge, but overall I was not impressed. The air was stuffy and I could hear other guests movements and voices through the walls/​ceiling. Made it difficult to get any rest. The furnishings are quite mismatched from a variety of periods. Parking was annoying and the inn feels really out of place in the neighborhood. Sorry to be the voice of dissent but really surprised that I’m the first to point these things out.

We had been looking for a motel for several days in or around State College, PA. We were going to be in town for a concert. The one or two rooms we found were around $ 199 per night…
Then we stumbled upon the Chestnut Manor! This place is amazing… It has charm and is rich in history. The rooms are large and clean. The breakfast was great and the company was even better. Jim and Launa are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet.
I highly recommend Chestnut Manor!
