Tonight my wife and I decided to try Arby’s current«limited time only» gyros. I opted for turkey, she decided to try out the roast beef version. Curly fries, of course, and a pair of Sierra Mists mainly because, well, not a lot of places have it on tap. The gyros themselves were actually quite tasty. The pita bread was very thick and puffy. It didn’t seem fresh baked, but still, it had a nice consistency. The turkey was cut a little thicker than I’m used to seeing at Arby’s. You could actually see the grain in the slices of turkey, instead of that flat shiny surface you’re used to getting at Arby’s. Very moist, not super flavorful, but still very satisfying. The tzatziki sauce could use a little more garlic, but it and the lettuce/tomato helped seal the deal to make this experience feel a little more authentic. The curly fries are curly fries. No big surprise here. Almost as good as Rally’s fries, minus the seasoned salt. Seriously, this place needs seasoned salt. Anyways, good experience this evening. Their drive thru is usually pretty slow but tonight they were both hopping busy and up to speed. Tonight, Arby’s, you earned a four. Try not to expect these too often. :)
