I went and got the brisket and onion tanglers. I have never had such greasy meat in all my life. It was simply swimming in grease with no flavor and I had horrible heartburn after. The onion tanglers were delicious but also did not go well with heartburn. Will not eat again. So sad I was really hoping this would be amazing.

We had never been to Dickey’s and I’ve got to say, it wasn’t too bad for being a chain barbeque restaurant. We ordered a 3 meat entrée and a slab of ribs. The 3 meat came with 2 sides and a roll. We also ordered 2 extra sides. The pulled pork was a bit dry for my taste. The beef brisket was pretty tender and flavorful. It had some nice char. The barbeque honey ham was good, but lacking in the two flavors in its name. Their ribs, however, were our favorite! They were super tender and fell right off the bone. The asiago cheese creamed spinach was out of this world creamy! It’s definitely a delicious, new way to eat spinach. The baked potato casserole was really good. I got it loaded with bacon, sour cream, and chives. The green beans with bacon were too salty. Not quite the southern style I was expecting. The mac ‘n cheese was super cheesy. They have a sauce bar for their 3 sauces, which were really good, so you could sample before you slather your meat. Overall, I’d definitely visit again for the ribs.

Love this place! I don’t care if it’s a chain. It’s too good to care! We all shared the ribs, turkey, spicy sausage, brisket, and pulled pork. Everything was delicious! My six and three year old wolfed down the ribs. They couldn’t get enough. The sides were excellent was well… we had the mac n cheese, fries, green beans, and baked potato casserole. They were all good, but the casserole is something to definitely try ~ original and tasty. As far as the sauces, that is a personal preference. I found the sweet BBQ to be too sweet and the spicy BBQ lacking flavor. I liked the original BBQ. The staff here are great also. They all acted like they enjoyed being there, and were more than willing to recommend meats and sides. Try this place out!

When I entered, I was mesmerized for some reason. Two t.v.s were on and there was a contest looking table, on my right side, that I never went to check out because I assumed it was nothing. Customer service was fast, probably because I was the first one there at 11 a.m. sharp. The gal greeted me and began taking my order. I wanted to try the $ 1 pulled pork sliders with ice tea without the ice. Usually, when I go to a restaurant, I just go in and tell them my entire order with the beverage of choice; however, the beverage is self serve so you are allowed to pick up the cup and get the beverage. Cool cool! She gave me a bag to put my pulled pork in; however, I said I would save them a bag. Little did I know that the way they wrap it up is not very secure. When I went to the BBQ sauce station, which she recommended I taste the three flavors, my sandwich wrapping opened up and then I had to go back and ask her for a bag. She laid it on me and told me «Yeah I knew it» –_– All in all, the sandwiches were spectacular. Taste was that of your typical western BBQ restaurant. Smokey flavor etc. Food here is pretty cheap! Do not know if that was because of the sliders? Probably. $ 1.00 sliders promotion; however, they are pretty filling! The spicy flavor BBQ is off the rocks(it’s not overwhelmingly spicy), followed by the sweet, and then the tangy original.

We were very unimpressed by the quality, especially given the cost. I’ve had better BBQ sandwiches at a drive thru. The Cole slaw was tasteless & macaroni and cheese tasted like it was made with cheese whiz. My husband had the brisket, which was decent, but still not great. We won’t be back. We were disappointed.

Spent the last 2 years working in Texas, Dickey’s is considered the McDonalds of BBQ. It stands true here as well… Its alright if ya have few BBQ options… Not typical of REAL Texas Que. Get on line and order ya some Louis Muller to be delivered to ya… Now that’s some REALTEXASQUE!!!

Never wrote comment on a restaurant before… this is the Worse ever! Tried four different meats — all cold. Sides lack flavor and were cold as well. Except for green beans… so hot couldnt taste. All you people that love this place, well, guess your ‘taste’ is all in your mouth. Free ice cream was not REAL ice cream. Not even passible. Place wasn’t crowded, apparently some people know better. Wont go back.

Best ribs I have EVER had. No sauce required. Very clean. Very friendly staff. Don’t be put off cause it is in a shopping center strip mall. If you do sauce, try the sweet! My wife loves the baked potato casserole

This was our third time dining at Dickey’s and we ordered what has already become our go to choice, the brisket which is tender, flavorful, and delicious! Our side selections included potato salad and baked beans both of which were excellent. I personally prefer the spicy but all three sauces are a nice complement to their smoked meat offerings. We have also sampled and enjoyed the pulled pork. The only negative we encountered during this visit was the fact that the softserve machine was out of order and thus we couldn’t have our complimentary cone. Bummer! Hopefully the machine will be working next time. If you are a barbecue fan I recommend giving this restaurant a try.

The food was decent, but is overpriced. No one was friendly. The first person I came in contact with did not make a good impression. She was rude and acted like I was holding her up asking her questions. The BBQ sauce was not anything special and there is only three to choose from. Sweet, spicy and original. They do have«free» ice cream. The restaurant was clean. Not very impressed.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly — My wife and I have eaten at Dickey’s at least 8 times since they opened in Lexington and it’s our favorite barbeque by far. We always order a pulled pork sandwich and get a couple of sides. The food is always delicious and portions are decent. The free soft serve ice cream is a nice touch as well. That’s the good. The ordering process is awkward at best. Once you enter, you have to wait until the person making the food acknowledges you which may take a couple of minutes. And the wall separating the order-taker and the customer is very tall and seems a bit off-putting. That’s the bad. And now the ugly — It’s a shame that for such a good quality meal, you have to go to the Eastland shopping center to get it. Let’s face it, this area is a pit. If they were in a better location, I have no doubt their business would be several times the volume of what it is now. It’s a shame that the owner chose such a low-rent location rather than putting their restaurant in a more upscale locale. If the food weren’t so darned good, we would not be venturing over there. And I’m sure there are many who will never try Dickey’s because of where they are located. IMHO, City Barbeque was the best in Lex, but Dickey’s is now the champ! If you’re willing to give it a try, I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

Let’s be clear, this is a chain restaurant. I just came back from visiting Texas and oklahoma, so I had a taste of some pretty good BBQ. This seems to lack a few components that could make this a great place. As for the good, the restaurant is clean – this surprised me since the location is in Eastland. I ordered the beef brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was tender and flavorful. They offer this by the pound and I would totally pay the $ 12.50 for a pound of it. And there is a free soft serve machine in the lobby. The not so good… it was awkward to order. If you had not been there before, it was difficult to figure out where to order. The biggest flaw is the sauces. The sweet was the only one that I could stand, but even then it was not that good. There is also the spicy which had a bit of spice, but lacked flavor and then the original which made me want to spit out the mouthful of pork I put it on. Seriously, the sauces suck. I will probably go back and buy the brisket by the pound and use my own BBQ sauce on it.

Dickey’s does NOT even compare to any of the other BBQ restaurants in Lexington. I tried the 3 meat platter and it was just the most average food. I had brisket, pork and turkey. The brisket was ok, but the pork was all dried up. I was excited for a new BBQ place to try, but skeptical because of it being a chain. Sure enough, it did not impress me at all. It’s kind of dingy inside and no one greets you when you walk in. It took a long time for them to prepare our plates, and there was only one guy in front of us in line. It just doesn’t measure up to what you’d expect a good BBQ place to be. They have free soft serve ice cream, but after eating the food, I didn’t even bother to try the ice cream, I think it would be another disappointment.

I’m having very mixed feelings about this place from the first time I walked in. I liked how the place looked and how clean it was. What I didn’t like was how it kinda reminded me of like a chipotle mix with Chick-fil-A. Looked over the menu and went with the $ 123 meats plate. I got the ham, pulled pork and cheddar sausage. My two sides were bbq baked beans and Mac and cheese. For $ 12 they don’t give you much at all. I felt for the money I was paying I could have got a lot more food anywhere else that would have been just as good if not better. The portions were not worth what you pay for it and I believe that’s where I was not happy. They food was really really good and the atmosphere was nice but still didn’t feel it. I think this place would be better if it was an actual restaurant that served liquor even wine, something that was a little bit better. I think this won’t be a place I would go out of my way to get food from. I feel if I’m getting bbq it should be real bad and have big portions.

Fairly new to Lex. Nice atmosphere inside. The food is not bad, meat smoked good and variety of sides. BBQ beans not the best, Mac + cheese good as we’re onion tanglers. Price is ok but maybe tad high. Service good. They should do good but only in my maybe top ten, not top five at all! Maybe, not sure top ten.

This place is a welcome addition to the Lexington BBQ scene! This is a great Texas style option(Brisket, sausage, chicken +…about the smoke, not the sauce or presentation… also, it is not NC, Memphis or KC if that is what you are looking for). Great selection of meats and sides. Fresh made, reasonable prices and a good original, spicy, and sweet sauce, but the meat doesn’t really need it. Atmosphere feels right for a BBQ joint. I am a bit of a BBQ snob so I was hesitant to try a new joint but this place passed with flying colors. It is worth a visit!

I really liked it! BBQ is one of my favorite things so giving five stars would have to mean they are like the drop dead best BBQ joint I have ever been to. I have yet to find my favorite yet, so until then we will go with four stars. I LOVED the sausage, the polish sausage though, OMG, my favorite so far! The brisket was good, but I think I have realized that brisket isn’t my favorite thing in the world… I want to love it because I love beef over all meat, but my son LOVEDIT! That is major because he doesn’t like anything! He ate all my brisket, the ribs were good, I won’t say spectacular, but good enough. I will try other stuff when I go back, but the sausage is what I look forward to most! Yum… Oh and the free ice cream is a great touch, especially when you have kids!
