Maybe the best food in Lexington. Phenomenal southern cooking. Just perfect in every way.
Meat loaf — perfect
Honey BBQ baked chicken — the best
Green beans — perfect
Mashed potatoes — homemade with chunks of potato and parsley
Mac and cheese — OMG. BEST EVER.
Hot water cornbread — Perfect
Pies — WOW! Mini sized. Perfect crust. Homemade fillings like lemon and butterscotch (NOT Jello).
Super clean restaurant and restrooms. Super nice people.
My new fave in Lex.

Please for give me if this is sacrilegious but if I did not believe in God before I would now. MiMis is food for the soul and I have seen the light. If Jesus were a live today the last super would have been here and communion would forever be marked by Mac and cheese, greens and salmon croquettes. YAS LORT!

Ok, we dropped in for lunch after church. Overall, a nice place to eat.
I’m on the fence about a couple of items. The cornbread cake seemed a bit too done & therefore dry as well. My bride thought it was great.
The sweet potato casserole was a bit heavy on the nutmeg & it has a distinct flavor.
I had the fried fish, the bride had pork chop, both done well & tasted great.
We both had MacNCheese, excellent!!!
Will definitely be back & look forward to trying different items from the hot bar & menu as well.

Excellent food, got the chicken and waffles and they were the best I have had outside of Memphis. Very friendly staff, clean, large portions, and reasonable prices. Daily specials and sides are served like a cafeteria. Highly recommended. Greens were also great. All of the customers seemed very happy to be there.
Chicken and waffles came with strawberries and a little powdered sugar, two sides of syrup and franks hot sauce.

I finally made it. I will first say the service was nice and attentive;however, my greens and mac & cheese were good but COLD (It was lunch time). I also ordered the chicken casserole which was also cold and very bland. I wasn’t impressed, but I will give it another try…

If you are craving a little down-​home Southern comfort food, you now have a new option in Mi Mi’s Southern Style Cooking. Sometimes you just want a hearty meal, reasonably priced, in a comfortable setting, that offers the satisfaction of knowing you are supporting a local business.
Mi Mi’s opened in August of this year on New Circle Road in Lexington’s north end, near North Limestone and next to the CVS drug store. It’s a little difficult to find the first time if you are not familiar with the area, but I soon found it.
The premise at Mi Mi’s is simple, choose from the daily specials available on the hot bar, such as fried chicken, fried fish, baked chicken, salmon croquettes, baked spaghetti, or several other traditional comfort foods. The menu changes daily but the fried chicken is a constant on the menu. After making your selections you can seat yourself along with your food in the adjacent dining room. The dining room is large, well lit, nicely appointed, and you can catch live music there on weekends.
The staff is warm and friendly and on the night I visited, there was a steady stream of customers placing carryout orders.
I chose the fried chicken, choice of two pieces, white or dark meat, with your choice of two sides, and each entrees comes with a serving of hot water cornbread. I went with the mashed potatoes and green beans. The portions were generous and I was pleased with my selections, especially the cornbread.
Unfortunately I did not leave room for dessert as the portions are generous but I will definitely return soon to try other items on the menu.
The meal was very reasonably priced and if you like Southern comfort food, you should check out Mi Mi’s soon.

My husband and I loved Mimi’s! The food was wonderful, everyone working there was super sweet. Also loved the music that was playing!!! We plan on going back.

If your looking for southern style cooked food at a reasonable price this is a good place to eat. Very nice folks here. I had the salmon croquettes, mac’n cheese, fried potatoes, and kale greens. They have friend chicken everyday! Also their daily menu is on their Facebook page. Come check them out!
