Oasis is my favorite restaurant in Lexington. They have great vegan/vegetarian options as many Mediterranean restaurants. Their lunch buffet is a great deal and the food is always so fresh. I highly recommend their vegetarian lover platter which comes with hummus, pita, tomato/eggplant stew, rice/lentils and either lentil soup or fattoush salad.

The family loves this place. We go and share the family platter with a side of fries. The soup is great and the hummus is excellent.

My boyfriend and I both ordered the Shawarma mix with beef and chicken. Take my advice and split this dish! There was so much(delicious) food that we could eat on it for two more nights! The sauces were delicious and the service was super friendly. The salad was very good and fresh and also there was a dressing with it that was simple but totally amazing. The only drawback was that the chicken was a bit dry for my taste but overall it was a great experience.

Mediterranean being my absolute favorite type of cuisine, I should have known better then to build up expectations for a lunch buffet in Kentucky. Still, I was pretty underwhelmed. The highlights of the buffet were the salads/fresh greens and the hummus, which is pretty hard to mess up. Anything on the hot side was a pass. I tried their baked egg dish, the chicken(which was dry and served in the same sauce as the egg thing), okra, and orzo(they had no rice option, which I think is weird). Overall it was okay, nothing to really write home about. Maybe their a la carte menu is more interesting, and brings home more of the authentic Middle Eastern seasoning and spices I was missing. I probably wouldn’t go back unless I was in the area and in a rush.

Those were some delicious Kabobs! The portions were generous, the flavors made my mouth sing and the Baklava was served warm. I can’t wait to go back! There are chicken and fries for kids who won’t cooperate. You can also get a Pita-wich or salad for a lighter option. I had the Chicken Kabob which came with a starter Fattoush salad, rice, garlic pickle slices, Garlic sauce, Hummus and a thin Pita bread. For drink I tried the Arabic Tea. The tea is very strong and a little bitter. Not bad, I just usually choose a more mild tea. The space itself was on the smaller side but comfortable booth & chair seating. It was clean, the lighting was just right and the service was friendly.

I’ve only had the lunch buffet. Hopefully I’ll try something off the full menu soon. I love Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food, and the type of food is not as prevalent as I need it to be. The mint tea is tasty and refreshing. The clove tea is… not my cup of tea, but that is a personal preference. The Shakshuka(?) on the buffet line is so good, but I couldn’t find it on the full menu.

Great lunch buffet, lovely food and gracious staff. A great neighborhood place I have frequented for years.

Pros: friendly and helpful staff, location, and short wait time for to-go orders Cons: the chicken and beef were dry, as if the food had been sitting for hours, or precooked and reheated. They are edible and were well seasoned but just not as good as Sahara’s or Zaina’s

I came here for the first time today and had a lovely experience. My friend and I both ordered the lunch buffet and it’s a nice little spread of food including pita bread, salad, hummus, lentil soup, white rice, falafel, and various vegetable and meat dishes. My favorite was the falafel, and meat with potatoes and carrots with rice. The price was reasonable and Peter, our server, was very sweet and attentive. I told him I had never been there before and he gave us a complimentary slice of baklava. It was delicious. I assumed the food was Greek but was told it was more Lebanese. Either way, it was very good food, with a nice ambience, wonderful service and I will certainly be back.

I don’t know authentic Mediterranean food, so I don’t know just how authentic Oasis is, but it sure good. I really enjoy this place. I absolutely LOVE their rice. It’s even better if you mix some of their delicious garlic sauce in with it. While we’re on that topic… the garlic sauce is amazing. I always ask for extra, and so far they’ve yet to charge me for it. As for their entrees, the chicken shwarma is my absolute favorite. It’s tender and flavorful. And it’s a HUGE serving. For $ 13, I had enough to eat for lunch, then finished the rest for dinner. I also enjoy their falafel«pita-wich» and lentil soup. Overall, nothing but good things to say!

One of my favorites in lex. Turkish coffee is amazing. The garlic sauce is to die for. Moussaka is on point — I love it all! The only thing that disappoints is the pita is not home made.

My husband I tried Oasis on a recommendation from a friend. We loved it! The service was extraordinary… always helpful, explained how each item was made and the particular ingredients. We had the dinner for two(with rice) — with one of us selecting the soup and the other the salad(which was huge, as others have stated). It was enough food for 3 and still would have leftovers; and for only $ 25. Everything was very tasty! So why a 4 and not a 5 — 1. I have not had enough Mediterranean food to compare with other places. 2. Clean and appropriate atmosphere, but not extra special. 3. I think five should be for the best of the best.

I tried the lunch buffet, and I wasn’t very impressed. It was pretty small. I liked the lentil soup and hummus and that’s it. I was particularly disappointed in the falafel. They were tiny and didn’t have much flavor. There’s better Mediterranean in Lex. This place doesn’t even compare to Sahara.

I love this place! I don’t make it over here as much as I would like. The hummus is fantastic! The lunch buffet is wonderful as well. The service is great! The restaurant is pretty small, so if you don’t like crowded places I would come to try it out during slower times.

By far the best Mediterranean in town. It is actually one of our favorite places to eat in all of Lexington. We always get the Oasis platter for 2, as it gives you a great variety, and then there is always more than enough for lunch the next day. On top of all of this, I can’t say enough good things about the staff! They are always super friendly, attentive and they know our order by heart when we sit down.

Not a mirage. This is an actual oasis of Mediterranean food in Lexington: A+ service A+ menu selections(why is it that mediterranean places always seem to have such a large list of menu options/combos?) A+ Fatoush salad size, which is enormous even when it comes with the Veggie platter. The attention to detail with spices and the way the vegetables were prepared was impressive too.

Good Mediterranean food is hard to find overall, so last place I was expecting to find good food was Kentucky. The food is great, especially the chicken shawarma. They know how to make it right here. why only 3 stars? Service — they can be really slow. They’ll forget to bring parts of the order(soup after the meal, tea after the food?) If you are not in a rush, the food is good… just expect hit or miss with service

My daughter and I decided to have the Oasis Platter because of the variety. The waiter tried to convince me that it was too much food for the two of us but there wasn’t anything smaller with that variety. We had the choice to start with a salad or lentil soup along with the hummus and pita bread, we chose the salad which only came with a very good vinaigrette dressing. The beef in the platter was a bit tough but maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to be. Next time I’ll stick with all chicken. The Kafta skewer(ground beef and lamb is what the waiter said that it was made of) and the grape leaves weren’t my cup of tea… we’ve only had Mediterranean one other time and that was a few years ago… so this was a «different» experience for us… in a good way though. I thought it would a healthy choice but our favorites were fried… the falafels(mashed spiced fava beans and chickpeas) and the kibbies both were fried to a golden brown and they were excellent. The rice was great and I usually don’t like rice. We got there at about 6 on a Thursday and beat the crowd because when we left at around 7 and I think they were full to capacity. A lot of people were coming to pickup their carry out orders as well. Our waiter was a bit slow which is the mean reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. I’ll come back though.

Easily the best Mediterranean food I’ve had all year. My boyfriend and I shared the Oasis Platter($ 25.95) and it was a delicious mix of meats and I love their garlic sauce. My date doesn’t really like hummus but enjoyed their version and the lentil soup. I’ve had better hummus elsewhere but everything else made up for it. My only complaint is they’re only open until 9pm even on the weekends but apparently this is a reoccurring theme for most locally owned establishments in Lexington. I’ll be back and it’ll probably be this weekend for their buffet!
