We went again to this place as my SIL loves this place and she ordered — samosa chaat and gobhi Manchurian. My brother ate from buffet. They liked their food but we both were disappointed with samosa chaat. It wasn’t tangy and spicy enough. Gobhi Manchurian was good. Overall it was just ok. One dish that I love there– o didn’t enjoy. Will see next time!!!

We went really late for the lunch buffet — just 5 mins before it was about to end! We were ready to be shown the door but we were famished! They were just GREAT! Not only did they welcome us but made sure we were served even those things that were over! It was well past the service time and their chefs made hot naans for us. We were so happy! They are as awesome as the food they serve in their restaurant!

Went on a Sunday evening. Wonderful, wonderful service. They brought us a pitcher of Coke once they saw that we were going to go through it quickly. When we ordered two entrees, they stopped us to make sure. Puzzled, we said yes. The reason that they stopped us is that their portions are HUGE. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala, mild. It was delicious. I could have easily went medium, though. The garlic naan was divine. Can’t wait to try the buffet, and I feel strongly that I’ll be going back for dinner very soon!

This is the best Indian food I have eaten while in Lexington. I had the chicken vindaloo which was amazing. The chicken and potatoes could melt in your mouth, and the curry sauce was perfect and so flavorful. My wife had the chicken saag which was equally scrumptious. The plain Naan was to die for! I love my Indian food extremely spicy(maybe even more spicy than people who live in India), and even though I ordered my dish extra hot, it was still on the mild side(for me, not the ordinary person). However, the staff told me they would make it even hotter the next time I was in. Speaking of the staff, all were so kind and courteous. This might be one of my new favorite restaurants in Lexington, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

Suggest a try .Food was nicely spicy like we wanted. We ordered vegetarian. Appetizer Gobi Manchuria was dry one and crispy(3.5÷5), entrée bread basket with kofta lazwab(3.5÷5), mango lassi was good too(3.5÷5). Quantity is good enough, a little more than usual quantity offered by others.

The lunch buffet is now even better than it used to be! So good. They’ve added a few new foods since last I was there. Fish curry, black lentils, egg curry, coriander chicken. Perfect saag and aloo gobi. They kept a steady supply of fresh naan. A great place for vegetarians. The food was perfectly spiced for the average American palate. Their chai tea is included with the buffet and so tasty. The servers are friendly. I’ll be back next weekend!

I love this place! I also love the staff, they’re always very friendly. I understand that they have to «Americanize» the menu for the local pallet. However, I wish they would have the option of ordering true traditional style Indian dishes.

After spending much time working in the middle East this is as good as it gets. If you like spicy go for it, if not ask for mild. Execllent flavor good service.

I have been coming to tandoor for quite sometime now(since 2011 I believe). I have experienced many different owners, and management. The current owners, are very good, and have really improved the business. Through it all, the food has always been amazing. I have tried several different places in town for Indian food and Tandoor is the absolute best place. There is NO comparison. I hope other people enjoy Tandoor as much as I do.

I am still in total awe of this place. The Naan bread is heavenly. Get the variety basket. You could make a meal out of that. If you never had lassi please try the savory lassi. Also it helps to quench down the heat if you do order something with a lot of spice. We got the daal and the lentils were very fresh and not completely destroyed by cooking. The palaak paneer was delicious and you could feel the layers of flavor. I will, and want to come back soon. The main waiter whom I think was the manager was very very nice. I specialy enjoyed the Punjabi music.

Our go to Indian buffet in Lexington! Hubby always orders off the menu and gets chicken vindaloo. It’s spicy, gingery and delicious. I prefer to try the many items off the buffet. Today there were some new ones I hadn’t tried which was fun. A chickpea fritter dish that was delicious and an egg dish with halved boiled eggs in it. Everything was delicious and I love the two salad options they offer. The desserts were also yummy and they even had Chai. Naan was fresh and delicious. We will be back!

Yum! This is the best Indian restaurant in Lexington! The food is amazing and the prices are definitely lower than other places. The only thing they are lacking in is service. Servers are awkward and take forever to get things for you. But still, the food more than makes up for it! Everything on the menu is so gosh darn good!

Solid Indian food and great service! Chicken Tikka Masala had great flavor, as did the Samosas. Mango Lassi was a great drink to top it off with. Oh yes, the garlic Naan was excellent!

Best Indian restaurant in Lexington or anywhere for that matter that I have been. They have a lunch buffet 7 days a week now even on Monday! The staff and the owners here are all very nice. I could eat here almost everyday. This place has given me a whole new appreciation for foreign and new foods to try!

Don’t think twice before stopping by here for lunch or dinner, the food is absolutely delicious, it’s consistent, the service is excellent, and I’m very picky when it comes to restaurants. Good job guys, you’ve got a new regular!

I’ve been to three Indian restaurants in the Lexington area and this is my least favorite. The sign outside the restaurant says fine dining but maybe they mean the décor. It is a rather large restaurant and the buffet spread is generous with several rows of typical Indian dishes. However, the flavors were muted as though their spices weren’t fresh. The food looked good but wasn’t particularly flavorful which left me full but not satisfied. I guess I’ll have to turn to my top two Indian restaurants for my Indian food cravings.

This place was MUCH better than anticipated. Based on the photos of food and interior, I expected average, quick, and mediocre atmosphere. Instead, it was nice on the inside with a slightly upscale feel. The food was very tasty and was presented well. The timing of the dining experience was more in line with a slower, higher end style restaurant. The paneer pakora is excellent.

My husband and I had some errands to run yesterday afternoon in this area of town and were in need of a quick lunch. I wanted to step away from the typical fast food places, and remembered noting an Indian restaurant nearby. Indian restaurants usually have a buffet — quick lunch! A search through my Unilocal bookmarks brought up Tandoor, just around the corner from our destination. We drove over to see if they had a lunch buffet — sure enough, there was a sign in front advertising a «Large Indian Lunch Buffet.» Sweet! We walked into a nice, quiet restaurant with smiling faces and were immediately led to a booth near the back. Only a few other people were there enjoying the buffet. We inquired about the price of the buffet($ 9 per person) and decided to go for it. There were two buffet tables, one with several meal choices(a couple variations of rice, a couple meat entrees, and two veggie entrees), another filled with sauces and a couple salads. Off to the side was another table with a bowl of rice pudding over ice for dessert. A large buffet? Not really. I was a bit disappointed by the small-ish buffet and the limited options. However, they DID have the foods that my husband and I love. I scooped up plenty of naan, rice, chana masala, and a bit of the veggie eggplant entrée. Soooo good! My husband enjoyed his chicken masala, as well. We each got about two plates’ worth of food and ate until we were so stuffed that it was difficult to move. Oy! To top it off, I tried some of the Chai tea that comes free with the buffet — sooo good. Loved the Chai. The Tandoor staff was very friendly and attentive; they were constantly filling our glasses of water and clearing our table of used plates. At one point, they even brought over a basket of fresh naan after we noticed it was nearly out at the buffet table. Awesome! Very pleasant experience: four and a half stars if I could. Not perfect but very delicious!
