The Wax Spot

I hadn’t had waxing before going to JoAnna, but she’s so friendly I was immediately put at ease. She is quick and nearly painless but also makes a point of being very thorough with the hair removal. Her schedule flexibility is also especially helpful. I would absolutely recommend her!

I initially went to Amanda (for Brazilian) few yrs ago (who was very professional, fast, and friendly). Due to my hectic schedule at the time I started requesting JoAnna instead. I had been with JoAnna till I moved.
Out of desperation I had to go to someone here in Louisville which compelled me to write this review. Nothing compares to her! I always loved how professional, thorough, fast, and personable she was. I always walked out of there 110% satisfied, and felt like I was catching up with a girl friend (albeit a professional girl friend). My Brazilian’s were everything but awkward. At this new place the woman never left the room when she asked me to undress, asked me to lift my legs in crazy positions, and the place did not seem sanitary. Wax Spot charges fair prices for what you get. Might not be an upscale, champagne in a glass fancy-​schmancy salon but it’s a sanitary place, that’s pretty inside, with service that is ineffable. I’d take the latter over the former ANYDAY! I have about 4 girls that have started going there. Run don’t walk!

The Wax Spot is great! I just moved to town and didn’t know what to expect and Amanda exceeded my expectations! She was so personable, quick and did a perfect job. I highly recommend Amanda and the Wax Spot.

The wax spot is great! Amanda does a great job. She makes sure you are prepared before your appointment, the appointment itself is very fast and she is available for questions afterwards. Appointments are easy to make and change if need be. I would definitely recommend this place.

I used to go here regularly for a couple years when I was a student at the university of Kentucky. In fact I got my first wax here. Everytime the service was great! I was always so happy with the results and also the price. She was fast, friendly, clean, and painless. Because it was the first and only place I had been, I thought all wax places were similar in quality… but sadly, I have since traveled a lot and now live in Nashville only to be dissappointed by all the other places I have tried. I have literally tried every soft wax place in Nashville I could find and nothing compares! Even though I don’t use this place anymore, I decided to come on here and write about my experience because I really wish I could find a place even close in quality (or price) now! Bottom line, if you’re looking for a place to get a good wax, I highly recommend.

Before you go here, look up the scary things that can happen to you if you get a bad Brazilian wax job, and all the safety and hygiene precautions that a waxer should take to keep you safe. Then know the waxer I had (also the owner) did the exact opposite. Everything was filthy, she didn’t wash her hands, the hair broke off instead of being pulled out, and I battled bumps, ingrown hair, and pain like never before. The hair was already growing back out within days. I do not recommend this place at all.

I have been to Amanda four times now, and I am still pleased. Amanda does a good job, and is quick yet thorough. She is great at accommodating my schedule with early morning appointments. This is not a day spa experience with fru-​fru pampering. Amanda does strictly waxing, and she is good at it. She has good rates and offers student discounts, too.
