We are a well behaved, put together family of 4. Our children are ages 10 and 13, yet the store clerk watched us like a hawk, following us from aisle to aisle, giving us the stink-eye as if we were shoplifters. She told my 10-year-old not to touch anything with her«greasy kid fingers». As soon as we left, she followed us outside to watch us walk away. I would NEVER give this woman a dime of my hard-earned money! Not only is the clerk’s behavior inappropriate and off-putting, but the store is over-crowded, dark and a hodgepodge of merchandise. Don’t waste your time.

I was there late in 2014 and was a kid in a candy store! Before I share my opinion of some of the other reviews allow me to share my personal experience: I was waiting to eat next door at the Feral Pig and this store was not even open yet. I was peaking through the windows and drooling when the female owner appeared to open shop.(Setup on their part because they have outside display items, signs, etc as well) She told me it was OK to go in and look around while she did so. VERYCOOL!!! Harsh reviewers… This is not Toys R Us. The items carried here are high quality and in some cases one of a kind as no others exist any longer or few were ever made. Most are accessible so that the buyer can look at the packaging, what it includes etc. Some are fully displayed outside of the box to show the quality. Even I as an adult would never dream of handling many of the items without assistance! The shop owner has no clue if you are there to buy or window shop but adult or child alike, if you break it you better be ready to buy it! Pricey? Again NOTTOYS R US! They have overhead being in a mall, they have probably far more lookers than buyers and lets get real… they make their sales /money when the cruise ships come to town with buyers that know what they are looking at. I watched a German tourist drop 2000US in a heartbeat on items he has not seen in 40 years that they still had in the original packaging! Sadly, I did not buy anything as I was moving a sailboat back to the mainland and space was sparse. I grabbed a business card, asked if they do shipping and returned a few times to make a wishlist. I still plan to buy form them. This is an «adult toy store» not a place for children to run around without supervision. I too would seem rude if I saw a high dollar item about to be broken

BeachRail is a toy museum in a toy store. They have classic diecast cars not found anywhere else and a large selection of Lionel Train items. There is a variety of quality Hawaiian themed toys and books to bring home as gifts. Plus educational and just plain fun toys. Browsing through their selection brings out nostalgia in all visitors not just hobbyists. You will find old diecast ships, diecast cars of the 50’s, plastic model kits of 1960’s Batmobile and Lost in Space’s Jupiter 2, models of the original Star Trek starship and characters. There are also modern plastic model submarines, plastic models of cars, planes, diecast airplanes from past and present. Look at the pictures to have a feel of the store, see if anything reminds you of your childhood. The products here are beyond what you can find in a regular or chain toy store. This is almost like a toy museum – except you can buy the products. The educational toys include a wide selection of accurate sea and land wildlife from Safari, unique hand puppets of scallops, dragons, even a wolf disguised as a sheep. My advice is that if you see something special and you like it, buy it on the spot. It’ll be hard to find on the internet plus the costs of shipping and handling. I am told some die cast items costs three times as much in Australia. For cruise ship passengers, the BeachRail is located in the Harbor Mall and can be accessed thru the free Harbor Mall Trolley. Kalapaki Beach Hut across the street offers great grass fed beef burgers, there are other dining establishments in the Harbor Mall. Don’t take my word for it, just look at the pictures and you’ll see its worth a visit.

Great shop for the islands. A mix of model kits, diecast, games, trains(largest amount in Lionel, some N and HO scale) and toys and stuffed animals. Prices are what you’d expect online surprisingly. A great treasure for the islands. Better than anything I’ve found on Oahu. Other reviews say they were rude. I found nothing but helpful. Just be aware that it is a store filed with many adult collectables. Just be mindful of very small hands. I highly recommend this shop as a visitor to train and model stores the world around.

I didn’t think places like this still existed. Growing up in the 70s I remember places like this: small, crowded stores packed with a little of everything a boy could want. Diecast cars from Corgi and Norev, trains in N scale and O gauge and a host of plastic model kits. Most of these stores were driven out of business by the likes of eBay and Amazon. Somehow this place has survived. This shop has a nice selection of Lionel cars and operating accessories, a nice range of diecast cars/planes/military vehicles, and a great selection of plastic model kits(especially science fiction kits). Among the items I saw and was tempted to purchase were the Lionel jet powered locomotive, a Renwell atomic cannon kit, several diecast cars and tanks, the GI Joe Mercury astronaut figure/capsule and a plastic kit for the Orion space plane from 2001. Good thing I only had so much room in my luggage or I could have dropped a lot of money here! Prices were surprisingly fair — several Lionel items were no more than they would be back home and I’ve seen some of their GI Joe figures go for much more on eBay. It’s a wonderfully well curated shop for grown up boys. The owners were quite nice and never had a problem with my two little kids in the shop though I’m lucky in that my kids understand that they shouldn’t grab stuff that doesn’t belong to them. The front of the shop does contain an assortment of kid friendly toys and we wound up buying a few items for my little ones in addition to my haul. The further back you go in this store the less suitable it becomes for small kids. The owners were also very patient in pulling down items for me to look at. To be clear, this is a store for grown up kids. Norev cars, Lionel trains and Moebius model kits are NOT toys for little kids to play with and they have price tags to match. If you go in here expecting it to be a mini Toys R Us you will be sorely disappointed! This really isn’t a toy store so much as a hobby shop. If you don’t know the difference then this store probably isn’t for you and you really shouldn’t get bent out of shape when the owners don’t take kindly to your little ones manhandling something that is potentially expensive and easily broken.

DONOTSUPPORT. The rudest owners ever. The lady made our family feel very unwelcome. She hissed at us as we waited out in front of her store. «Don’t TOUCHTHAT!!» then gave us the Evil eye. How can a toy store owner hate kids? Seems like a bad fairytale.

This store is located in a small strip mall not far from the airport and harbor. We were waiting for our helicopter tour and stumbled into the store. They are predominantly model trains of numerous different gauges. They also have many vintage car models(mostly assembled). It’s fun looking at the stuff. The lady behind the counter was polite and friendly. We were not really shopping for anything,
