Everything is always good here. I almost always have the fish of the day and have never been disappointed. My favorite is macademia nut encrusted opah.

Great Place to eat before your flight home. Make reservations if you plan to do that because it is always busy.

It’s located in the Marriott Hotel, which was kind of a maze for my friend and I to find if you’re dropped off by the hotel entrance. There were so signs pointing to Duke’s and every time we asked one of the hotel staff to where Duke’s was they would provide vague directions. I recommend finding the actual entrance to Duke’s if you’re in a car versus navigating your way through the hotel. We were able to get seated immediately and most of the patrons there appeared to be tourists. My local friend mentioned that she likes to take people here for the setting/theme and that they have good Hawaiian cocktails, which is true. They do. I ordered a Mai Tai and it was one of the best Mai Tais I’ve had. I was afraid that it would be too sweet, which is normally why I don’t order fruity cocktails, but you could tell good rum was used. And it was strong — just how I like it. For dinner I ordered the Cheddar Burger and Fries. It was overcooked to my medium-rare request and was a little dry and bland. When I asked for an aioli for my waffle fries the server mentioned that there was already garlic aioli on my burger, which was surprising because I thought the burger was bare. That’s how bland it had tasted. The aioli was primarily for my dipping sauce for the fries, but I ended up using some on my burger which helped. The waffle fries though were on point. They were well-seasoned, crunchy and good. My other friends though really liked their food. They ordered the fish tacos and Kalua Pork Sandwich. I’m glad I was able to come here with a few of my friends and spend time together, but liked my cocktail way better than the food. Next time I probably would just come back for the draaanks.

When my husband called to make our reservation, he told them it was our honeymoon and asked if they did anything special for that. The hostess said yes and she would let our server know. They didn’t do anything for it. Which was fine, maybe miscommunication. Our server seemed irritated with us from the moment we sat down, but was chatty and happy with every other table. Our drinks were fine, the calamari was mediocre, but our dinner — the macadamia nut pasta dish — was awesome! Had high hopes for this place to have a great experience, and left disappointed. The view is pretty, it is Kauai, but we feel the views and service are way better at other spots on the island.

Very Nice. Heard a lot about the Mango Ribs. Got em… Service was good. Thx Rusty. Needed to ask for refills on the drinks, «no big deal». Enjoyed dinner. View was awesome! Note to all. Ribs were very filling! Asked for more of that BBQ sauce. Tasty & Satisfying! Thinking about needing to do at least 500 sit-ups to get back to normal. ;)

This was one of my favorite meals on the island in 3 trips here. Nope it’s not cheap but it was worth every penny. I ate in the upstairs part and ordered the chicken with a beef skewer(can’t remember the name sorry) I added the salad and had to try the chocolate hula pie. I loved it all! I’ve heard people say food«melts in their month» and I had no idea what that really meant until this meal! The chicken was so freaking good. I eat chicken a lot in attempts to be healthy and this was the best chicken I’ve ever had. The salad bar which I thought had to be worth adding to the meal for $ 3 when it was $ 18 as an entrée! Was totally worth it. Sadly I ate more than I should have from the salad bar and could have used an hour break before dinner came haha. Go walk through the salad bar before ordering and if it looks great to you add it for only $ 3!(and share wink wink) They had I think 3 staff members who’s only job was the salad bar, so they were stocking everything all the time. A tour guide on our trip said her favorite desert was the hula pie and I love Chocolate so I was ready even after being really full at that point. I shared the pie with 2 others, I probably could have eaten it myself though! It had like an Oreo cookie crust, chocolate ice cream with mac nuts in it and yummy fudge all across the top. Ugh I need one right now! If you want a great view they have that too. Just make a reservation and get there early before it gets dark. Save up if you need to and splurge this one night. I heard the downstairs bar area is awesome too and I’ll be trying that next trip. Final words… Yummy!

Our Duke’s experience left much to be desired. The food was mediocre at best and the prices are really high considering what you get(and the quality). We ordered the nachos and they were partly cold with I unmelted cheese. The fries weren’t terrible but reminded us of any standard fast food joint. The veggie flat bread was actually pretty good and would be our first recommendation of you HAD to eat here. Unless you’re really hungry and don’t want to leave the Marriott grounds you should consider eating elsewhere.

Actually, our initial choice for a restaurant for dinner this evening was in Poipu. But driving from Kapaa to Poipu and being stuck in traffic and made us late for our reservation, we decided to make a U turn and head to Dukes at the Marriott. We got there with no reservations, but had a 20 minute wait, which was absolutely fine. The hostesses(3) greeted us with smiles which was nice. Our table became ready and hubby and I were seated. Ordered our drinks. Received them promptly. My husband ordered a ice tea with a strange name and he said it wasn’t what he expected. I ordered my favorite… virgin Lava Flow. It was nice but very sweet. Waiter took our dinner orders. Hubs got the sashimi. Fresh and presentable. I had the mushroom appetizer to start. Oh my god, it was so delicious. I’ve never had mushrooms like that before. Garlic with balsamic sauteed mushrooms over a custard/pudding type bottom. I couldnt get over how amazing it was. Got our entrees. Hubs had the prime rib, which he enjoyed. I had the Guava pork BBQ ribs. It was literally fall off the bone… and not to overpowering in the sauce. Delicious. But for some reason the rice was hard and seemed old. I was disappointed. I thought it was just certain parts of the rice but all of it was nasty. I found that the prime rib and my BBQ entrée was small portioned. At least we had room for their Hula Pie. It is huge. It actually comes in three flavors now. Coffee, mac nut, and also raspberry. We ordered the raspberry pie. Very sweet and it’s huge! Over all, service was fast and efficient, food was good, except for the rice. My water glass didnt get refilled. Tables were alittle to close to each other. View was nice of the bay.

What can I say? This is a huge tourist spot right next to the Marriott Resort & numerous other eateries. I had the fish tacos & a Stella. They were both pretty good. The atmosphere is what you would expect. It looks out to the beach & harbor. The service was great & our server was very professional. I think overall, if you are looking for a predictable convenience this is great… or if you are trying to hit every Duke’s in existence, this is a great way to check that box too.

We ate at Dukes(upstairs, not walk up bar below) our first night in Kauai. We had a nice table looking out over the beach, open air seating of course. We got there right as they opened for dinner(with reservation of course) so it was pretty quiet but I imagine it fills up quickly. The waiter was very nice and quick service. The salad bar is unlimited and had a great selection of food so we definitely loaded up there. I had a nice mojito too! Let’s see, my significant had the ribs which were AMAZING. The meat just fell off the bone and the sauce they used had a tropical taste to it… maybe mango BBQ? I had teriyaki chicken and it was also really really tasty. I would definitely recommend this place to eat.

This is a really nice restaurant right on the Kalapaki Beach. The view is peaceful and amazing. My favorite dish is the prime rib, it is delicious! You can add the salad bar to any meal for an additional $ 3.00.

Just had the worst lunch I’ve ever had in Hawaii. Sat at the bar and had local grass fed beef cheeseburger. It was not well done like I ordered it and the bun was cold just thrown on the plate with lousy institutional waffle fries. Lady next to me ordered chick appetizer she assumed it was grilled. Turned out to be s big fried mess. She sent it back for nachos also not a good choice there must have been a point of ref tied beans a 16 oz tub a sour cream and a pile of guacamole that looked like it was assembled by a three year old. Have never had a bad meal at a dukes until now. $ 30 for s cheeseburger and an iced tea, welcome to Hawaii!

I’m glad I came here! I wanted to take a beautiful woman out for a nice dinner while on this island, success! Good food, great location, outstanding service! My date and I had a wonderful experience. Walking up the stairs was a conversation peace in and of itself. We were not seated by the railing, and it did not matter at all. We were still able to enjoy the sights and sounds of the bay. Kimi provided us with the best service I received on my 14 day trip to the islands. We were greeted promptly, served quickly and were never left for want. As for cost. It’s what I expect, comparable to the main land for a dinner such as this. If your looking for a nice dinning experience go to Dukes.

Duke’s is a Hawaiian staple which is why I had high expectations of this restaurant. My husband and I came here for Aloha Hour from 4 – 6 on a Friday. The atmosphere was great, there was live music and the barefoot bar was packed. We ordered two Mai Tais which were excellent and only $ 8 during happy hour. We also ordered the nachos which were disappointing. They were nothing more than chips with melted cheese and guacamole and salsa thrown on top. This place is great for the atmosphere and drinks but go somewhere else for food

Duke’s is well worth a visit while you are on Kauai. We have only had one dining experience at Duke’s, but it supports the 5 star rating. When we sat down and I saw the salad bar listed at $ 17.95 as a stand alone entre I was a bit skeptical. Even more so when I saw that you can add the salad bar to an entre for only $ 3.00 more. The two did not jive initially with me, but after getting it with my entre I can definitely say that it is under priced as an add-on salad for only $ 3.00. And it is well worth the $ 17.95 if you get it as an entre. This is all coming from a guy that does not get that excited about salads. Our dinners all came out promptly and prepared as expected(there were 7 of us in total and the restaurant was very busy since it was spring break). I can only speak first hand about my meal, which was the salt & pepper Ahi with a great mustard sauce on the side. It was excellent. Everyone else in the party enjoyed their meals too. We finished with one slice of their famous Hula Pie. It was enough for 7 of us! Considering I live multiple thousand miles away from Hawaii, I will only be dreaming of this wonderful dessert going forward. I do not often get dessert when I’m eating out, but I would get Hula Pie every time!

This place is fantastic. The server and I took a couple minutes to test the face swap feature on snapchat which was especially fun, but the results were a bit creepy. Then I was served up some delicious coconut prawns. For dinner the fish du jour was crab encrusted ahi tuna on a bed of sticky rice. The sauce was perfect and it came with a refreshing vegetable medley. Overall I had a great experience. The ambiance of this place is all that is Hawaii. Phones of Duke line the walls, there’s a koi pond downstairs, and beautiful foliage throughout the restaurant. Must stop when/if you’re in Lihue.

Duke’s restaurant located next to the Marriott is a fabulous place to dine. I loved the tropical ambience and the Hawaiian décor and the gorgeous view of the beach and ocean from the restaurant. We enjoyed the live Hawaiian music being played at Duke’s Canoe Club below. The«all you can eat» salad bar can be added for a minimal price with your dinner and was a nice treat leaving completely full. The quality of food was very good and the service was quite nice. Now it’s just my opinion and experience but the hostesses could be more friendlier and enthusiastic while seating you. The waiter and bus boys were very cordial and welcoming.

Just a perfect day on Kauai. On the way home from the North Shore and decided to d happy hour at Duke’s. Great local musicians playing and beautiful warm atmosphere. Laid back but very fun. Always a great stop if you need a quick bite. Limited but very good bar menu. We ordered the calamari, excellent and the fish and chips, again excellent. Fresh with waffle fries. So good and easy.

This restaurant definitely has a scenic view. No doubt about that. Their Lava flow has just the right amount of sweetness in it. We ordered a Mahi Mahi dish and Mango BBQ ribs for our main entrée. The meat on the ribs fall off the bones and it is very tender. However, I do not taste any mango flavor and the meat is a bit tasteless. I will not recommend this dish to anyone. However, the Mahi Mahi was definitely delicious. The fish is fresh and it was very favorable. We wrapped up our meal with a ice-cream pie that they highly recommended. It was vanilla ice-cream with macarena nuts on the top and Oreo cookie at the bottom. The pie is huge and enough to be shared by two people. It was quite delicious. There was another table sitting next to us who arrived just a little after. Both tables paid for the meal at the same time. When we received our check/card back from the waiter, we immediate noticed that our credit card was swapped with a different table. When we were ready to sign the slip, then I noticed another mistake — they charge a $ 180 meal on our card and our bill is approx $ 87. My slip with the correct amount had someone else’s credit card number on it. If I didn’t read the slip, the other table would have signed theirs and thought they were paying with the right card. I demand to see the manager at this point. A young manager showed up explaining how he fixed it. I tried asking questions to make sure it would be fixed even after I walked out from the restaurant, he kept interrupting my conversation twice. I finally had to set him straight in order for him to start listening. I am awaiting for this pending charge to correct itself in a few days. I thought about coming back again since it is within walking distance from our hotel. After this incidence, I will never come back here again. I left this place unhappy. Also, it goes to show you how sad the younger generation is. They don’t know how to communicate properly and I felt disrespected when he keeps on interrupting me over and over again. Politeness and professionalism might not exist for the younger generation anymore. Truly sad. Aside from the mistake with the credit card, our server was actually great.

Nice place to eat and have a drink. Can’t understand the hype in all the previews though cause it’s quiet pricey.
