Was a little disappointed that it was vegetarian, but pleasantly surprised that it was extremely tasty. We will be back.

It’s an okay place. Feels kind of empty and the quality of the food is average. Extensive menu, though. Be aware that the food is all vegetarian as they are from the Gujarat area. Vegetarian is what I was looking for, but just a heads-up for the people looking for meat. I personally like the BAPS Shayona restaurant across the street better, which is also vegetarian and part of the BAPS Mandir compound.

I went on the Groupon voucher also. I went off hours so it was really slow in this big big space. The help is nice and helpful. She even put what I couldnt eat in a styrofoam box. Overall the food was average. Im not an expert on Indian foods but have eaten plenty here and in India. My only comment is on the puri, which are the round shells that look like little sea urchin shells that they fill up, is dont make them so full. They fill them too full here and add too much of the white yogurty liquid that it makes the shell so soft they fall apart. You are not supposed to bite off part or try to cut these. You snarf it down whole in one shot. However here you pick one up and it just falls apart at times as they are too full of too much light liquid. I have had them in India and they are not quite as full, and not so loose a liquid inside so they stay intact there. After the first 2 the rest were too soggy and I had to scoop them with a spoon. Street food is often eaten standing with your hands and these soggy ones would not work on the street. An order of them is 9 pieces. So eat them quickly as the shells are so thin they get soggy fast. The idea they have there would be good if they could get the people to fill it up.

I’m a pretty picky eater when it comes to Indian food, and this place lives up to my standards. Pav bhaji, samosas, paneer tikki, and dosa were all excellent! Bhel was good, but not great. Will return for sure.

Tasty and authentic Indian street food… Yummy and fresh. Had bread pakoras and dosa and they were pretty awesome. Honestly, I prefer them to the over-rated food at Chai Pani.

I’ve been meaning to review this place since I went! I used groupon to get a deal and it was a really good decision. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious on the inside and has some cool decorations, but overall doesn’t feel like you’re sitting in an indian restaurant. However, the kindness and helpfulness of the staff was pretty awesome. The person who placed my order helped me by explaining the menu and all the options. Even though I’m Indian, I hadn’t heard of a couple of things here. The food tasted awesome. They had some great samosas and chaat! The punjabi sandwich with pau bhaji was pretty good too. It reminded me of the homemade ones my parents use to make when I was growing up. The mango laasi was pretty good and my friend tried their chai and really liked it. The food was affordable and I liked the music. I am going to come back here and bring my parents who are super picky about Indian food.

ordered dahi batata puri, samosa, gujrati thali & madaras coffee. * Samosa delicious. I should have ordered more to go :( * madaras coffee is ok. I think they use condensed milk instead of regular milk * The rice on gujrati thali is really yummy. The drink that comes with it tastes weird. I dont even know what that is. probably yogurt. not used to it I guess. Place: clean & Large. Unique decoration. I wish they have pictures on the menu so we know how the food looks like . English translation is a plus !

we visited this place with a groupon voucher. we are warmly welcomed and pick the chaat somosa and vada pav. Both came nicely. We are enjoying the decors mean time. Both tastes great. We have gulfi at the end. Pista and Malai however Malai tastes better than pista but kulfi is not something they made on their own and so no comment on that have real impact. Samosa chat and Vada Pav are really good. we will visit again :)

Drove a half-hour after seeing the reviews and it definitely lived up to expectations. The panipuri is served from a ‘live’ counter and it’s great. We also ordered samosa chole chaat, paneer chaat and papri chaat. The food is perfectly spiced-up. The ambience is also pretty good with spacious seating and an ethnic flavor it all. Do try out playing on the carrom board :)

Omg where do I start! Was recommended this place by someone I was flying with a few weeks ago who suggested I should try this place. The pani puri was amazing! Also had the samosa chola chaat which was by far the best samosa plate I’ve ever had! The chaska dosa was on point! LOVED the chai! The food is authentic! To sum it up .“it’s finger lickin good!” :)

Good concept and location — so drove out here with the family. As expected — didnt have anything available. The hostess actually said that the«cheese» sandwich was a typo and there was no cheese in the sandwich! Haha. Also didnt help that she was busy on her cell phone and didnt concentrate on taking the order. Yup…wont return here. There are other street food options

Excellent Dosa with many choice of toppings. Dosa tasted authentic. Was not rubberry like many places. Pav Bhaji was not spicy enough. Ask for their spl chutney to spice it up.

Nobody craves chaat more than me, I’m pretty sure. This trip took my tastebuds back to the motherland. The restaurant itself is decorated really cute with authentic looking stalls for that the various foods offered. Think stalls you’d see on every street corner in nyc, but with Indian dishes on each. They also have lots of charpais for you to sit on for an almost dhaba type of experience. We ordered family style– paneer tikki chaat, cheese and aloo paratha, bhel chaat(I forget what it was called), dahi puri, and a dosa special. The cheese paratha was really good, but the aloo paratha could have easily just been made at home. The paneer tikki chaat sounded better in theory and was alright. I enjoyed it, but it’s not something that will be ordered again. The bhel chaat was huge and perfectly spiced. The real mvps of this meal were the dahi puri and special dosa. The dahi puri(about 7 pieces?) was amazing and light. Perfectly spiced & everything it should be. The puris didn’t seem like the freshest, but it was still really good. My favorite of them all was the special dosa, which was full of cheese & potato & goodness(key to my heart tbh). It was the priciest dish($ 10), but definitely worth it! The service is a little slow & they are quite pushy when it comes to ordering & try to make you add on more dishes than you can handle.

I came here one evening after a run in the park nearby. I was looking for good, filling snack. This place came up on Unilocal. It is a new place located in same plaza as Publix and Haven lounge directly across the street from the Hindu temple(you can visit the temple– it is open to public, not just Hindus) and Walgreens on Rockbridge Road. The atmosphere is very spacious with plenty of tables and chairs. It is colorful with pictures of streets of India on the walls. The menu is simple and straight forward. The guy behind the counter was kind and let me take my time to decide what to order. I ordered dahi batata puri with mango juice then went to sit down. I waited about 10 minutes for my food and sipped on mango juice(bottled) while waiting. The plate was brought to me. It had 9 of dahi batata puri. The food was excellent, well seasoned, and neatly assembled. It was about 6 pm. I was so full from my «snack» that it was my dinner! I will return to try other things. I hope the business picks up because I enjoyed my experience. The staff is very nice.

this place is fairly new and i was excited to try it. i ordered the sev puri chaat(but it has a different name there. i think it’s dahi batata puri), chaska special dosa, and a mango lassi to go. the chaat was good. they packed the chutneys and yogurt separately as it was a to go order. i had fun assembling it and quickly devoured it. the dosa was one of the best dosas i’ve had. i think it had onion, tomatoes, potato, maybe cheese, and it was spiced just right. the sambhar was thick, which i liked. the mango lassi was good, but i think there should have been more of it. i’m definitely going to go back and try more of their items. btw, décor is super cute for a chaat house.

Came here for a late weeknight dinner(about 9pm) with a large group consisting of Indian and non-Indian friends. The place is very very spacious. There were a bunch of carts set up to resemble street food vendors, but they were not in operation when we were dining there. You put in your order at the left side counter and they start a tab for you. Some of the things that I remember the names of were: Vada Pav — the filling in this sandwich type food was very tasty Pav Bhaji — too bland tasting, not recommended Sev Puri — also bland tasting, not recommended Pani Puri — interesting that these were in shot glasses; good to share for a group, but wouldn’t get again Samosa chat — pretty good dosa(forgot which one) — pretty good Grilled bombay sandwich(this was very very spicy, even for our Indian friends) The only thing that I would highly recommend getting here is the Vada pav, while the other street food from the menu are quite average. It also took awhile to get our water cups filled and refilled despite the almost empty eatery.

Traditional and comforting, one feels very welcome here. Colorful exciting Indian street décor, colorful wall murals, dhaba beds to dine at and street food carts. Can watch your food being prepared. Loved seeing my juice being made. We had pineapple cane juice, which was wonderfully gingery and I loved it. Spicy but refreshing and not sickeningly sweet. Pista kulfi on a stick for desert, good, very strong pistachio flavoring, but not enough rosewater for me so not great, I prefer kesar kulfi(saffron and rosewater) will do cup kulfi kesar pista next time However, the samosas and the masala dosa were wonderful, filling and a delight. Wonderful sauces and full of flavor and just great! We love spicy and the masala and sauces were the perfect spiciness. Not for tourist tastebuds at all! Seriously savory and seriously intense flavor and very very affordable! Great portion sizes as well Second visit, we got Masala Pav and Chaska Special. Free chai, which was exceptional, all the food was fresh and exceptional. Very happy and we shall slowly try everything on the menu! Got a Samosa Chole Chaat, a dosa and local made mithai for take-out for supper. Exceptional service as well!

We have heard things about Chaska and were really excited to try this place. we visited it on a Saturday night and it wasn’t very busy. The ambiance is very ethnic and gives you a street feel with some dhaba style beds and carts place around. Its a very selective menu(still evolving) with a very few options. We ordered Pani puri, Pav Bhaji, Dahi Puri, Chole Bhatura, Sweet lassi and Masala Soda. There is nothing worth mentioning about the food. — Pani puri was decent as they serve it in Indian Style on the cart itself. — Chole bhatura is just ok, the bhatura was not fluffy and the chole is not flavorful. — Pav Bhaji, the bhaji had a bitter taste and we had to send it back for a Samosa chat instead. — Dahi Puri, golgappa just filled with plain dahi and no flavor whatsoever — Samosa Chat, Samosa served with the same chole as in chole bhatura — Sweet Lassi, refreshing as any plain lassi u find. — Masala Soda, this was the most disappointing item of your night as we were expecting a properly mixed soda with jaljeera but what we got instead was a sprite mixed with jaljeera(Seriously!!) Overall it is a below avg experience and I wouldn’t go back as they do not have a lot of proper menu options and the options they have are not flavorful.

Chaska Indian street food has only been open for a few days. The owner shared that they will have a more extensive menu coming soon. Located inside the same shopping center as Publix & Wells Fargo. It sits parallel on the same street but on the opposite side as BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Temple. The interior is really vibrant, filled with carts to give you the«street food» experience. The staffs are friendly and enthusiastic. My review is based on the 2 dishes I was able to try: Samosa chole chat– samosa filled with chickpea and mash potatoes. Topped with a very savory sauce. Pav bhaji – bread that you can dip in chickpea sauce. Overall the food stand service was good. A promising place. Will have to return to try more dishes.

This place is SUCH an diamond in the rough. It may not catch your eye from the outside, but the food is unique, unexpected, and delicious. I’ll be coming back FORSURE. All vegetarian, which — as a red blooded Southern girl had me nervous — but I didn’t miss the traditional proteins at all. We ordered adventurously(a random mix of different options), and were wowed by every dish. The staff was helpful, friendly, and did not judge my lack of Indian street food knowledge. The trip OTP was totally worth it!
