Always delicious! I get either the stew pollo or the oxtails with rice & peas. And… Sweet Plantains are so good! ANDTHETRESLECHESCAKEISAMAZING

Delicious! I’ve only eaten here once but I’ll be back. We got a couple of lunch specials and they were both really good. The pork leg was just stupid good and make sure you get some of the skin when they plate you up.

Rice and oxtails were soooooo good. It was soft and you get a lot of food. The chicken was so tender as well. Definitely will be back

I came here for lunch on Monday and found the food to be just. okay. I love Dominican food and had to find an alternative when my go-to spot Punta Cana Dominican Grill was closed on Mondays so I gave Dominican Restaurant and Bakery a shot. I ordered Mofongo with Chicharrones de Cerdo(Pork Skins) $ 12. Mofongo is made to order so my food came out about 10 mins after ordering. I was skeptical when my Mofongo didn’t come with any sauce, and as expected it was dry. The pork cracklings were very very fatty, almost no meat. It wasn’t bad just not good. A lot people did come to order their lunch specials which looked more flavorful than my meal so it could be that Mofongo is just not their specialty.

I don’t usually eat Dominican food… so I have nothing to compare my experience to. All I can say is that for 6.99 lunch special(Mon-Friday till 4pm), it’s aokay. With the lunch special you get a choice of white rice and one meat with a salad on the side… or rice with beans with a choice of meat. I recently stopped eating white rice so I just asked for the mashed plantain with the chicken stew as my meat choice. The mashed plantain wasn’t sweet like I was expecting but kind of salty. The chicken stew… unlike Caribbean chicken stew… isn’t sweet either but more on the salty side. I also got an order of custard… which is like flan… but for 3 $ you only get a small slice. I usually get a small round flan but this was different and way too expensive. The taste was also just okay. I wouldn’t ordered the custard again… and I might come back here and try something else.

Brother in law recommended this place and he did not let us down… Wife order the steak with onions n a side of fry plantain, She like it a lot and it was a big portion, so she took some home. Bro in laws order the pork all ready cook with fry rice n yuca. I order the pull meat with white rice n red beans on the side, I Like It… Was tempting for the dessert but wife decline my offer. Plus I forget we have, 1 bottle water, 1 President Beer, 1 Tamarind soda, n can remember the last soda, O Well! Can wait to take wife to have breakfast n order MANGOO… Will let you know how it was…

I found this place and had low expectations, especially because I was born and raised in the Caribbean but have been disappointed here in the US looking for homemade food. But, OMG, the food was AMAZING, and I ended up going twice on my two night stay in Duluth. The roasted pork and the ribs fricassee(costillas guisadas) were tasty, with plenty of Caribbean flavor, which is full of spices, not spicy. The yellow plantain and the rice and beans were the perfect complements. But I knew this was the real deal when I saw a foursome playing dominos in the locale.

The most delicious cake i’ve had! They taste just like the cakes back home! I could eat a whole cake by myself. They have all sort of different desserts. The restaurant next door is pretty good too

I love this place, never disappointed, everything is fresh and delicious, oxtails, steak, roasted chicken and stew chicken. The staff is beautiful and friendly. I feel like I am eating at a true authetic Domincan restaurant straight outta washington heights in NY!

I’m Dominican and Puerto Rican and I live in Atlanta and sometimes it’s hard to find food of my culture in places that aren’t Hispanic dominant. I found this and fell in love. Everything is amazing the setting makes me feel like I’m at my families house. You feel welcomed and the best part is the food.

My fiancé and I came here to try out Dominican food for our first time ever and we weren’t disappointed. This place is very spacious with a lot of seating. The bar area looks depraved of décor though – it didn’t look like much. When you come in, they have a cafeteria-style lineup of their food but you can also order something from the kitchen which is what we did. I ordered the Mofongo after seeing reviews on Unilocal about it. It’s mashed plantains mixed with meat. It sounds like a strange combo but it works! Especially when I poured their gravy over it. Yummm ! Very flavorful. My fiancé ended up ordering Coconut Tilapia which was good too but I liked mine better Haha. And if you’ve never tried a tamarind drink, try it! It’s delicious. Overall, my fiancé thinks he needs to eat there once more to give a more definite rating and I feel the same way but needless to say, I did enjoy my dish there!

SALTY!!! This is the saltiest food I have ever eaten! They even take a big salt shaker and hit the salad before serving it! WOW! There are other seasonings besides SALT!!!

Excellent Caribbean comfort food. They are open Sunday afternoons with very little wait for your food. We tried the mofongo and the plantains were cooked to perfection. We ordered the garlic shrimp and stewed beef. It was wonderful. The staff are helpful and speak both English and Spanish. I would take a point off for the ripped benches and unclean tables but the food is so savory that I will over look it. We will be back very soon!

Dominican/Puerto Rican fare is not as common in Georgia as it is in Connecticut/NY, so imagine my surprise when once upon a time, my mom had a business close by to this place and they took over the space that had long been unoccupied. I won’t get into much details, but I will say that this place has authentic cuisine(as I have had many a meals at Dominican/PR restaurants in the Northeast and have even traveled to these two Caribbean islands) that is utterly affordable. The show-stopper for me is the mofongo, which is just as I remembered when I had it daily during my stay in San Juan a few years ago. Excellent with a strong garlicky flavor and chunks of pork rind(which I will not eat in any other way) throughout. If you feel like getting rice with red beans with the assortment of meats that are available, you won’t regret that either. A gem in Atlanta. Show your support so that it doesn’t disappear. As much as the food is similar to Cuban food(which can more easily be found around here, due to our proximity to Miami), there is something unique about Dominican food. And did I say that the mofongo is fan-freakiin’-tastic?!

After playing some mini golf recently in Duluth we headed over to check out Dominican Restaurant and Bakery in Lilburn. This place has lots of items ready to go along with menu items that are prepared to order. We tried some of each. The above plate came from the food line and everything was really delicious. The oxtails and goat were simmered in a thick gravy that went very well with the rice/beans. We also had an order of mashed plantains which is great for gravy soaking. The below seafood soup was made to order and boy was it good! There is a spice in this that I am not familiar with but it made for very pleasant slurping and the seafood portion was generous, with shrimp(large and small), mussels and faux-crabmeat. This is a neat place to try if you’ve never had Dominican food before — definitely authentic. I also tried a piece of their flan to go. It was creamy and delicious and contained coconut. There is also special Dominican cake that looked really good but I think most people are too full!
