Such a cool, cute place. You can’t do it yourself but the artists will work with you to create a piece of your own! It takes about a day to cool so make sure you have time to pick it up the next day. All their stuff is beautiful and worth a look!

We have been here several times over the years. This trip, we decided to have a piece blown that we could photograph and then pick up when we were on our way back through Lincoln City. This was such a great decision. It wasn’t extravagant… but it is beautiful… and having the photos of Kyle creating it is extra special. We picked up additional glasswork when we came back a couple of days later as well. We visit Alder House every time we drive the coast. I highly suggest stopping in! Not to be missed!

Absolutely a must-see if along the Oregon Coast! I have been coming here for years and love to sit and watch the artists blow glass. Keep in mind that you cannot blow your own glass here, however you can request and design specialty pieces. Each time I come to the coast I get pieces from Alder House. This current stay I have acquired two stem less wine glasses that are amazing! It is a great environment to sit and relax and learn a bunch of stuff you(probably) didn’t already know. Great people, great glass, truly an experience!

Always a must stop when I’m visiting the area. Watching the glass blowing process never gets old. I’m amazed everytime. This is a much cozier spot than other places in Lincoln city. Just to clarify on another person’s post, you don’t blow your own glass here, however from what I understand, they will blow something for you in front of you. You can choose the object(such as vase, bowl, paperweight) and colors. And yes it must be kept in cooler for a few days or so which is the same process anywhere else you go. It’s just not possible to make something and take it home the same day. It’s multen hot glass. Lol. It kinda needs some time to cool.

This is a place that’s far removed from where most of the other glass studios are in Lincoln City. Though it was a bit of a drive from where my hubby and I were staying, it was well worth it. During the months that Alder House is open, you can walk into the workshop/shop and sit down on a big wooden bench and watch the glass blowers at work. We met with Buzz and Kyle over the course of the week and they were always ready and willing to answer questions. The glass pieces they have arranged in the other half of the building range from absurdly expensive to very, very affordable. Each artist has their own style and so there is an extensive variety in pieces. I purchased a few items as gifts and Kyle had everything packed very, very carefully and shipped to me on a future agreed date. The complexities of glass-making made me appreciate my purchases that much more. This is a very fun and educational place to be and I hope more people get a chance to visit it.
