Ocean did a great job w/my 5yo son. It was his first professional haircut since he was 18mo. I have been shaving his head because he freaked out the last time we attempted to take him to Super Cuts. I talked him into going to Cool Kids because it sounded like something he would like. Now its not as kid friendly as I imagined. The tvs(3) weren’t on so my son just sat there but he was fine with that. But once he got in the chair(15mins after his appt was supposed to be, she was running behind) there was a tv in front of the chair. She asked him what he wanted, so he watched Spiderman while she cut his hair. She did a great job. I didn’t even have to be critical like I usually have to be at Super Cuts to make sure I get my money’s worth. So we will be back. Also, I didn’t care for the fact that she doesn’t sweep up after every cut. She does clean the chair and cutting tools but leaves the hair on the ground, at least she did w/the son and the cut after him. So that is why it got a 4. Also, I think this is a one woman shop. So kudos to her! I did see adults get their haircut there too.

Highly recommend! The price was great and so was the salon. I did not catch the name of the lady that cut my sons hair but Ahhhhmazing with kids. I have cut my sons hair at home for the past 3 yrs but he would never sit still. The stylist brought a sense of calmness with him and he sat perfect with no fear of someone else cutting his hair. She even talked with him about his plans later on that day(which I didn’t tell ‘her’ about, we were discussing in the waiting area as incentive to sit still). We will defiantly be back and hope to get the same quality.

Not bad. Not amazing. What seems to make this a «kids cut» place are the tvs playing cartoons in front of each chair.

My son hates getting his haircut. He hates wearing the cape and the sounds and feelings. It makes him crazy. At Cool Kid Cuts he can watch a movie or play video games to get his mind off of what’s really going on. Ocean is fast and super good. She has a very calm yet«in control» attitude with the kids. I used to skip around from stylist to stylist but once we found Ocean I’m not taking my kids anywhere else. And the cuts are cheap. I believe a kid’s cut was only $ 12. It’s a heck of a deal.

Ok, my 2yr old freaked out the first 3 times he got his hair cut. After several recomendations, I decided to try Cool kid cuts on O street. We walked in and found video games and children’s movies to entertain. When it came time for our cute… we popped in Dora the Explorer cartoon and he was glued. The stylist, Ocean, was great! Cut quickly, quietly, and professionally. Elliot didn’t even make a peep! I was shocked… amazed he didn’t make a fuss. His hair cut looked great and the experience was fantastic! I will for sure be back and recommend this place to all my friends with small children.
