Daphne’s Family Restaurant

I should have eaten an entrée that i knew was good from past visits. My broccoli cheese soup was very very good and i remembered their fries were nice and crunchy and never greasy but confused on the sandwich to get. The menu is quite large here. I asked the waitress what was better the burgers or the ribeye sandwich. She said the burgers are good, just typical pub burgers but the people rave about the steak sandwich. So i ordered my steak sandwich medium rare and it come to the table mainly well done. The steak was smaller than i thought it would be for $ 6.75 and thinner than expected. It was just a bad piece of meat but maybe would have been better if not over cooked and dry. I found out the owner was the cook tonight which surprised me about the preparation of the steak. I should have said something but i didnt find out he was the cook until i paid at the register. The hamburger horseshoe had two patties covered with the crunchy fries and the cheese sauce was delicious. Service was great but the 3 stars comes from my sad sandwich and the booths. The place just needs remodeled or atleast a little bit of money put into it. I can say the portions are large. It can easily be a 4 star average restaurant with just a small amount of work.

Horrible! Burnt toast, then replaced with toast not even toasted, over cooked eggs, cold French toast and waited forever for coffee. Will never t come back again.

Very good Traditional Breakfast. The breakfast special at $ 4.75 is a super deal. Service super. Coffee is just right. HOMEY old fashioned atmosphere.

This place is terrible. We went there and my brothers chicken was not done. When we sent it back, after he had taken a bite out of the thigh, the manager just put that piece of chicken BACK INTO THE FRYER. REMIND YOU MY BROTHER TOOK A BITE OUT IF IT. The manager then came to the table and argued with us that the chicken was done before it was sent back. He could hardly speak English.
THUS PLACE US WORSE THAN HORRIBLE. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! NASTY NASTY NASTY. Less than 1 star.

Love going to eat at Daphne’s. Friendly waitstaff, Cooks do an awesome job. Reasonable prices. If you haven’t gone to eat here I highly recommend you try it.

One star? Damn, folks are tough on the mom and pop joint. I led the motorcycle club on ride night and we stopped here on a Tuesday night for dinner. If memory serves many of us ordered the special of the night which was country fried steak, gravy and all the fixings. I enjoyed my meal. It tasted fine and the service was great too.

Don’t do it. Instead, drive a few minutes to the Historical Downtown District and try some of the following places. About the same price, but much, much better!
1) Guzzardo’s Italian Villa (Steaks, Pasta, Seafood, and more!) about the same price but fresh cut steaks. Open for dinner only. Homemade pastas. Its been a Lincoln treasure for over 50 years!
2) Blue Dog Inn is a great place for burgers, sandwiches and other homemade goods.
3) Arcade Café is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Quaint little place.
4) Hallie’s Lunch Box is open for lunch and dinner and is home to the schnitzel sandwich. A Lincoln delicacy.

The absolute worst. Only satisfying to the untrained palate.
