This is my go-to place for sunglasses, eye checkups, contacts, and reading glasses in Lincoln Nebraska. I know Dr Brian Hinkley to be a very professional, kind, and knowledgeable doctor. He definitely cares for his patients and his bedside manner is top notch. I would not visit another optometrist in Lincoln. Thankfully I have never had any issues with my eyes, but I trust my checkups to Brian and his team. I also have a fresh pair of Oakley sunglasses on my face thanks to their great supply and helpful staff.

I have a lot of positives to say about Eyecare Specialties. I think their eye exams are very thorough and their doctors are excellent. I always get the feeling that I have just received very professional and extensive eye exam. Their staff are friendly and attentive. The store itself is large, modern and comfortable. They don’t have a huge selection of eye glasses, but neither is it a small selection. Those that they do have tend to be spendy. The don’t have very many inexpensive frames, as the majority skew towards being very expensive. That leads me to the negative. In an era when there are several eye glass places in town where you can get two pair of eye-glasses for $ 99, this place is very pricey. I have eye-insurance that partially covers frames and lenses and I still ended up paying nearly $ 200. If I didn’t have insurance, I couldn’t afford to go here. I also have noticed a tendency to attempt to «upsell» you on your glasses. Glare protection, tint, better quality lenses all are offered, and«strongly encouraged» and a steep mark up. The«upsells» are encouraged by the doctor by the note that he hands the sales person. If you were to take advantage of these options, I imagine your glasses(depending on the frames) could reach upwards of $ 1000.(compare that to the 2 pair for $ 99). So, overall, I am very satisfied with them. As I said, I believe they are excellent for my eye-care. But, just be aware that you will spend more here than a discount eye-glass store.
