Love the small town bar feel of this place! Great drinks and love all the bartenders!

A good, solid old school bar. They mix nice strong drinks. Don’t expect to find the kind of drinks that come with little umbrellas. There are both booths and tables, as well as seating at the bar. A few pool tables, video games, and dart board round out the décor. The bouncer at the front door will probably check your ID when you come in. Bartenders are friendly.

About the best bar downtown as you dont have a bunch of really young college kids foolin around. They have a decent large outside seating area. If I go to a bar on game day this is one I can go to.

«BRIANDIDNOTOBSERVETHESABBATHON5÷2÷10» Part IV(Bar #4) Memoir: After bar #3, my eyes were shutting on their own accord(hey, I just ran a marathon hours earlier). I took a shower and a nap; then, I woke up refreshed to proceed to bar #4. I had a pint of the 312 Wheat. It wasn’t too good but for $ 3.50, I wasn’t complaining. I saw«Jäger Barrel» on the board and asked what it was. The bartender said it was a Jäger Bomb but instead of Red Bull, it was Root Beer. After one too many bad nights of Jäger Bombs, I was done with them but figured, hey, I’m in Nebraska. This is a first for everything. So I ordered a Jäger Barrel. And it was delicious! Young, college crowd(University of Nebraska) and some older people(the«I go to bars at 6pm on a Sunday» crowd) They had some cheap food specials but I didn’t order anything for fear of ruining dinner.

I’m partial to this bar so it gets the whole slew of stars. There are two perfect times to go to Jack’s. First is any weeknight past hump day after 10:30-ish. The haymarket is filled with restaurants and almost all people from the industry flood this place after their tables are done and the kitchens close. Be ready to drink … a lot and be outgoing enough to make some friends because the social space can be limited and you can encounter some click nazis, but hey that is just part of Lincoln. The other time is Sunday at noon. They have 30 cent taco’s and the usual bartender, Miles, makes some of the best god damn bloody marries I’ve ever had. This is a day drinking event, so be prepared to strap on your booze goggles and take a necessary nap in the afternoon, a perfect Sunday.
