Pink Flamingo

Careful readers will notice that I pretty much only review places that I will never set foot in again. I usually like to keep the real finds to myself. However I owe it to all the other artsy fartsy women (or men) of a certain age to share this wonderful find.
Generally, the hippest young hair stylists don’t put a lot of effort into us oldsters. Why bother? We’re old. But though we are old, we still have a certain image we hope to maintain… at least in our own minds. Mine is artsy-​fartsy writer type. Afton at Pink Flamingo is a hip young stylist who envisions that delusion we have of ourselves and helps us make it a reality.
If, like me, you are tired of excess drama, whining, no shows, vicious salon cats, and at the end of it all, a crappy damaging haircut, you will love the Pink Flamingo’s relative calm, bright windows, patient stylists and personalized cut and color with gentle, great-​smelling Aveda products.

I have been going to Afton at The Pink Flamingo for about 3 years now and have had nothing but stellar service. She is always willing to talk through my ideas, show me examples of cuts or colors she thinks would look good on me and I always walk out loving the finished product. I’ve had such a good experience I’ve sent friends in, confident they’ll be happy with their outcome and I haven’t steered anyone wrong yet!
I feel really lucky I’ve found a place that’s reasonably priced, cares about the quality of their work and has the patience to talk with me when I’m not 100% sure what I want. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who doesn’t already have a dedicated hair stylist. Afton is my go to gal, but the other ladies in the shop are wonderful. I would trust any of them honestly. Check it out!

I am normally very picky about getting haircuts but Pink flamingo did such a great job! Very friendly people as well. Would recommend this place.

Fantastic salon! They just remodeled and it’s super cute and trendy. I’ve had my hair done by Jenny and Afton and they are both amazing! I went to another salon and paid twice as much for the same services. Will for sure be going back!

I stopped in for the first time and had my hair cut by Jennie. She was awesome. Suggested a fix for my overgrown hair. Performed complimentary scalp massage, shampooedmy hair and took her time cutting awesome layers. My hair looks better than it has in years. She even styled it perfectly and the entire total was just $ 25. This is the best thing I’ve discovered in Lincoln so far. Will definitely go back.
